Me too. Boston is choking this series up. That bartender in New England was right.

Pretty good. But I’ll add that Skinner and/or Krebs could be moved from that group in trades (along with prospects and picks) that bring people in. So maybe more slots are open. Savoie will get a look, but I hope Lindy will start the trend of starting in the A unless you’re special.

What is an av? A tech?

I just want the Bruin to get Toronto out. That is a priority. How many times did we see Sabres defenseman fail to block a shot and screen their goalie? At least a few. It just happened to McAvoy. Remember that when it happens to Dahlin or Power

Yes, you might as well upgrade to an HDMi input and you will get the better video and audio formats. I have a Denon and it’s been a good performer.

A surround sound receiver? How old? What is not compatible, does it lack HDMI inputs?

I was thinking a high school history teacher. Don't know why. Veteran employees being pushed aside is common. Probably always has been. I know I saw it and since I still consult part time, I see it even more. Some of it is employee resistance to change which is a normal thing, but quite a bit of this problem is an unhealthy and growing trend in our country to discount older people and not value the wisdom that comes from experience. You are not alone.

My wife keeps turning off the ice maker because she pushes buttons on the fridge that don't need pushing. I told her when she picked this fancy-dancy model out that the electronic buttons on the door will eventually fail and cost a fortune to fix. They did and it was.

I don't like the taste of Starbucks, but you can order regular brewed coffee there and put your own cream in it. It is still the oily tasting Starbucks that people like to love, but without all the foof. They tell me that when you get older you start to think that everything sucks, less is more, and "the good old days" become so much better than they really were.

Can you share what your current line is?
-
Yes, of course, ultimately "who" is far more important than "how". The process defining "the how", when done correctly by competent people, should help you find several good candidates and increase your chances of success. You cannot be successful in a competitive league like the NHL by counting on good luck. Luck could happen, and some luck is needed, but you cannot count on it or plan for it.

If he needs to call rival GMs to get input on hiring Lindy then he is way over his head. This is another lost opportunity. When you do conduct professional and fair job interviews you learn a lot. For example, you learn who the other good candidates are, which helps in the future. You learn that maybe a person you thought you could work with is no longer an option. You might even learn of a few sleepers that are intriguing candidates for other positions. All he did by not seriously interviewing veteran candidates is lose the opportunity to learn, and to gain credibility, and to be honest with a long suffering fanbase about his effort. The fact that other GMs might do the same thing is immaterial. There is a right way and a wrong way. It is no wonder this organization is where it is.

I am a huge Lindy fan. He will soothe the casual fans that have left this team - fans like my daughter and my wife. Neither has watched a game in many years because this team stinks, and they have for a very long time. Fans are excited to have him back. Lindy will help on the hockey side too. We can only hope he has strong input on which NHL players to go get, because Adams needs help. Adam’s is becoming a farce. He didn’t even talk to a Stanley Cup winning coach that took a team from last to first. Ever. He probably never interviewed Gallant either. So the guy that gave Adams a start in the NHL becomes available, it’s a perfect opportunity for Lindy to give it one more shot. Why not hire his friend and neighbor in Clarence. It could work? Maybe being in the right place at the right time is Adams true skill?
-
So you will hire a “royal butthead”, and you will settle for Lindy - who you already said you did not care for, but you don’t care that Adams exhaustive and detailed coach search never happened? You don’t care that he didn’t do the work he said he would do? Does honesty and credibility matter anymore?
-
When do you see this lineup? Hopefully about 3 years away. You’re not suggesting adding 2 more kids and trading vets.
-
Stars beat Vargis, take 3-2 lead.
-
You can always tell when Adams is lying. His lips move.

I was joking with @SwampD as I only saw the game starting from the last 8 minutes or so. I think the Bruins will finish the Leaves off in Toronto. Hope so anyway. I was in New England a few weeks ago. They are not too excited about the Bruins. Very fickle and spoiled fans. The bartender told me "they suck this year". LOL They have no idea the pain Sabres fans have had. None.

Drat. The Leaves win in OT.

Ryan Johnson, how a coaching staff screwed up by wasting a good a player
Pimlach replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
At the time the Sabres signed Ryan Johnson, Owen Power had 8 NHL games and Byram was not on the team. Does that matter, or did you look two seasons ahead for this insightful analysis? -
Leaves vs Broons. Good game.
-
Interesting information for sure. I was under the impression he is expecting to get a big contract after this one. I’m probably over thinking that given your response
-
For the record: I am on the fence about Bryam. He is young, and talented, but I have not see enough to pay him big bucks. What I saw did not blow me away after his first week as a Sabres. He had a Zubrus-like start though. What I saw with Krebs at 3C and and Jost at 4C will not cut it. They need help at center right now. They can extend Byram now, or wait and possibly trade him or lose him. I am betting they extend him before the season, I sure hope it is a bridge that does not cost a lot. If it is I will move on from this trade. Dahlin, Power, Bryam, Johnson, Joker - all have attributes that seem similar to me. I wanted a heavyweight hitter (like Clifton who is a middle weight) but with mobility and puck skills like the others. Muel could be the key if he can be more physical and stay healthy. I don't understand why there was not conversation with Mitts' agent either. The only explanation is that Adams has a stockpile of center prospects.

You must agree with everything I say, always. The bold is going to be hard to do given the recent history of this franchise. Let's hope they are talking and targeting roster additions together. Since he left Ruff has worked for Dallas, NYR, and NJD - he knows players and he is student of the game. The big question is will they come here? -

Sadly, they might survive a slow start because firing Lindy that quickly would really look bad. Good luck getting a proven NHL coach after that. Firing Adams and promoting Karmanos is possible though.
