  1. But that is a good thing. Let them be of some use while starting their decline and allowing the young guns to marinate a bit more. Then they force their way into the line-up through hard work. Then the older guys come out and their contracts come off. Replaced by more talent, hopefully at a reasonable cost. That is what builds a real team...earn your way on to the team.
  2. I totally agree....bravo!!!!
  3. This whole thing is kind of dumb anyway.....but just for chits and giggles.....Jeff Skinner also dropped in rank from #43 to #161 and Conor Sheary dropped from #25 to #343. And these guys might be Jack's new linemates, LOL
  4. I was pointing out to PA that his ranking was incorrect no matter what source he used.....and you're right, why argue over a couple spots in rank.
  5. How does Crosby drop from 2nd to16th ....or Stamkos from 3rd to 14th??? Chit happens from year to year. Scheifele dropped from 9th to 31st.
  6. nhl.com......also has Jack at #37. Jack did take advantage of up tick in scoring, his P/GP went up from the year before (.93--.96). And yet, Sidney Crosby dropped from 1.19 --1.09 so he must be starting his downslide.
  7. That I agree with mostly....Jack is/or can be that generational player. Once he gets the talent around him that McDavid has. Even with McDavid and the talent around him Oilers still finished 23rd in league standings (i know...they made the playoffs the year B4). Point is that even with a generational talent can we "expect" to be great. Now with Dahlin (a "generational" D talent) maybe that can happen. Dahlin will take some of the pressure off Jack along with bringing some of that national media exposure too. Maybe it also motivates Jack into what we hope he'll become.
  8. I agree with you on the "generational" player status but he was an obvious 2nd to McDavid.....Murray,s expression when we lost the lottery said it all. The McEichel theme was a play on the "tank".....whoever finished last was guaranteed Eichel but "could" win lottery and get the main prize in McDavid.
  9. McDavid was the consensus #1.....Eichel was the "consolation" prize.
  10. We have a QB who can throw 75yds but an O-line who won't let him throw 5yds.
  11. If I could give this post 10 thumbs up ....I would!!!!!!
  12. I may have referred to that but not really locked into it being Karlsson. The money isn't really the issue, it's more the term that and going into the "twi-lite" years of his career. There is risk in signing any player for 8yrs. If you are trading Reinhart you are looking at saving approx 6M/yr on his contract long term, then add in let's say McCabe, and then add in what you save on the 1st rd pick contract. Your not losing much over the years and Karlsson in a bad year puts up Reinhart points.
  13. Thanx for clearing that up...I did look for a post and didn't see one. I also looked in other threads to see what kind of thoughts people had for a line-up. If we are going to trade someone such as Reinhart I'd rather throw in some high picks and get a true #1 RHD so we could push Risto to 2nd pair. That would be the kind of upgrade I'd "like" to see. Problem is can we afford it AND where that #1 RHD will come from. Remember, Ottawa gave up their 1st rd pick to the Avs. We on the other hand might have three....Hmmm.
  14. Before any trade for Faulk.....what are your projected top six D pairings? I've seen people who project Dahlin and McCabe on both sides, such as but not limited too..... Scandella/Risto Dahlin/Bogo McCabe/Nelson or McCabe/Risto Scandella/Dahlin Guhle/Bogo etc, etc, etc Depending on your top six....would depend on who replaces McCabe.
  15. Personally I have to disagree.....I wouldn't want Taylor anywhere near either Peterman or Allen.
  16. Well, at least talks are "on going" so that's a good sign. I'm not really looking for it to get done until he shows up for camp or just B4.
  17. Yes...awhile back MSG started carrying them live.
  18. Must have been a glitch or something. I went ahead to Monday in the guide and it seems to be corrected. MSG 577 is where I used to get the shows and games all the time but, the other day they were only listed on the MSG 580 which it said I don't subscribe too. I got concerned and posted this to see if anyone new if we would still be able to get the games. Seems like everything has been corrected (I hope). Thanks for your response though!!!
  19. Recently Fios added 2 more MSG channels. I used to get shows like THE INSTIGATORS ans ONE BILLS LIVE on channel 577. Now those shows are one of the new MSG channels and when I go to watch them it says I'm not subscribed to that channel (I think it's called MSG zone 3. Does anyone kmow if this will also affect the Sabres games????
  20. Eichel and Myers were both extensions which make it a little different than Sam's situation.
  21. This was what i responded to.....sorry, should have highlighted it before.
  22. Not sure what you're trying to say here I was referring to the centers in the draft next year if that clears things up for you... Jack Hughes 5'10"/152lbs is the projected #1 pick
  23. 9-7 is what you would consider a bubble team....quite often those teams don't make it (or at least some of the 4-6 teams with that record don't). IMO that doesn't constitute "earning it". I am hopeful they will earn it this year.
  24. Center position players are almost all small....5'6"-5'11" and 160ish lbs
