Pittsburgh winning it and getting McKenna for a perfect 3 in a row would seem suspicious to say the least but just as long as the Rags don't win another lottery I'm probably okay with it all.

They don't bother hitting us. I've seen them play this year where they do forecheck though. I have to wonder a little if Brind'Amour isn't pacing them feeling they burn out in the playoffs with the pace they use at that time. We will see when the playoffs start if they still have it or not. I see Florida doing a whole lot of that too. They float a lot this year and it's either that they don't care cause they were cup winners last year or they know they will have a long haul and have to pace the season. Again, we will see when the playoffs start.

Maybe but do you really think Chicago is positioned to make a move up next year? Or San Jose? I like some of the San Jose moves but they are still far away. Either of those teams could easily get a top pick yet again.

Because he's a trade chip currently not playing so if you like your current roster he's a valuable commodity to move for what you need. If you think we NEED an injury prone offensive center more than a goalie and/or a top 4 defensive D man you don't trade him but if you think we do need those things, there's your asset in the deal to make it happen. These games are so meaningless but they are having fun I guess. Been a long time since I've seen Carolina play that passive.

I'm not sure Carolina is overly motivated at this point so maybe Sabres can beat them with any sort of decent effort. I saw Boston beat them a few games back and they were just going through the motions all game. This is part of the late season illusion with the home record. Teams locked into the playoffs only playing hard in front of their own fans. Coasting on the road.

GDT: Bruins (booooo) visit keybank center. 6pm FO. MSG-B, NESN.

This is it and I've said that for ages. Don't be fooled. The stats show the same thing every year and they fail to account for the opposition taking them lightly, back up goalies, tired opposition teams coasting their way into their already won playoff spots, gutted teams tanking and playing out the string while the Sabres play loose and free of pressure as it's already over. It's the SAME every single season and if you run back the same roster (roughly speaking) it'll be the same again. -

I disagree. Sabres were already bad before they tanked in 2015. Same goes for Chicago and San Jose and others. It's a much harder switch to go from a playoff team to the bottom in less than half a season. That's some serious tear down skill. -
The Expanse was based on the novels of James Corey (which is a pen name). The first one is Leviathan Wakes. The Three Body Problem is pretty good though. Starts slow but really picks up.

Nobody tanks better than the Bruins. -
There's absolutely zero reason to run it back again. With what's on the ice right now there's clearly more than enough skill and offense out there compared to other teams. What we need is a more solid D, a younger version of Reimer or better, and ideally a little bottom end upgrade but the last thing is a minor point. We need to do whatever it takes to get a solid top 4 D man in there before next season starts along with another D man for depth and/or to push Clifton or Samuelsson right out of the top 6. I've said this before and I'm going to keep repeating it. Trade Norris to make that happen. He's not playing now. He has an injury history, and we have enough offense. He's the trade chip to make this happen. We can also use picks and prospects but that's the place I'd be starting.
-
Well they are definitely not tanking. If they are, they clearly don't understand the concept π They are in fact blowing their chances of a top 5 pick but I don't care. We don't need more prospects, we need guys who can play now.

I don't put any stock into these games but it looked like they've been practicing that 3 on 3. Lots of fast fluid blind passing and deliberate movement as a unit. They get that right and they can pick up a lot of extra points in the future. They need to bring some of that to the PP. You can't judge much when a guy is saddled onto the 4th unit but Γstlund looked like he needs more time in Rochester.

Agree with that 100%. -

Interesting you have Bear at 6. That's substantially higher than most rankings I see BUT, oddly, he's a guy I think the Sabres could really use and so I would have said I'd be willing to go out of order and draft him higher than he's ranked. So we agree on something. The top guys are the top and we aren't getting them unless we win the lottery (which we won't) so my top 3 are Desnoyers, Bear, McQueen in that order and I'm happy if we get any one of those three. The back is a concern but maybe it's also over played. I don't know enough to say. They need to do their homework. I know Sweeney was out travelling and watching him. Not sure if Adams leaves his house. -
Gretzky sitting with Kash Patel while Putin's national hero becomes the league's top goal scorer makes me think reality has taken a holiday. I feel really bad for Dom.

Sabres recall Γstlund from Rochester, April 4, 2025
PerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
This is just a late season look see. Not unusual for teams to do this. Evaluate exactly where his progress is. I think it likely he needs another year in Rochester.
