Anderson played great. We’re only in these games because of good goaltending. Chicagos goaltending was stellar yeesh Tage is back. Slow start to the season sure, but he’s battling and defenders can’t do anything about his reach when he’s moving his feet. Oloffson has a shot. Needs to play 4th line with Girgensons/Okposo though, he’s killing any rookie he plays with. People put him up in trade talks because he has real value, an elite shot, but is a luxury a team like ours could use the value elsewhere. Like our struggling defense. No physicality when all our physical defenseman are out. Nearly lost this game solely to this reason on junk goals. Power is a train wreck out there with no defenseman setting the tone for him. I get that he has potential, but he’s two years from it at least. This is mostly an injury problem. Krebs is a disaster and needs the AHL. Giveaway giveaway giveaway doesn’t make up for one out of ten bonehead giveaways being a completed pass. He will always be this player but his odds can increase with experience gained down low, not destroying this teams chances. He’s a year or two out. Id rather be icing Sheahan right now. Asplund is needed. With our defensive defenseman out how can you justify sitting him? I’m losing respect for Granato he did exactly what he never should have done with the non merit based benching protocol. Glad they bounced back that Chicago team was bad. Even when we skated slow we were outplaying them, just lost the bounces. This team still has consistency issues and needs to figure that out if they’re going to make it through the season with a fighting chance.

Coach had to challenge that regardless of whether he thought it’d succeed or not. Scummy goal, these refs are losing the game Krebs is a disaster. Get him in the AHL. Does anyone plan on actually shooting and not whiffing golden chances?

Finally stayed up to watch a full game. Life man. Quinn was completely invisible to me. Seemed to struggle with the pace. At least it’s not mistakes? Bryson/Fitz kept getting hemmed. If we are playing well this year defensive depth is going to be our downfall. That being said I always felt positive with 45 handling the puck, it felt frequent. Curious to see Pilut, I had always liked him he was just getting out muscled, but he’s grown a bit. Power was noticeably better. Much less silly giveaways. Oloffson did stuff at the end, but I still think he’s one of our weakest links. He at least spared himself from getting into the rookie bench situation. Hinostroza deserves to keep playing. Mittelstadt is a disappointment for his draft position, but when he takes an extra step he makes magic happen. Going to be interesting to see how he plays out. Peterka came down to earth tonight. I’m sure he wants his missed empty net and frustration penalty back. Still playing well though. Anderson played really well, Sabres goalies in the past let 3-4 in that game. Have to keep Thompson/Tuch together. Those two alone can make a lot happen, which is important because of how streaky Skinner is. Then on days Skinner wakes up the line is unstoppable. 1st period was fast, and the Sabres surprised me and matched it. 2nd period effort was bad. They came out right away in the 3rd and closed the game out though. Much prefer that to the 3rd period collapse, which is apparently something this Vancouver team is struggling hard with this season. Hockey is fun to watch! Hope to see the home seats fill up. These aren’t flukey wins . Hope Muel is okay, Lyub is going to have a lot of missed games the way he plays and we are lacking the depth behind them for next man up.

Muel wasn’t worth the win. But it wasn’t a 45 shot goalie heroic. 2 good periods one bad period. Fast hockey.
