I don't think Power gets us a top 6 forward + an NHL defender in any universe And I'm someone who thinks Power could be a major force on this team when he reaches his peak. The only way I would be happy with trading him would be if it really helps us "win now." Are we one Owen Power trade away from that threshold? I don't think so. [Edit: I think we might be able to win a little bit now—not ruling out playoffs—but I'm not sure if trading him is the clincher] I would also think the "win now" would be the only incentive for the people actually making this decision. I would put money on watching Owen Power turn into a really good player, and I would regret seeing him do that on another team.

They were in it until the end. A new feeling that they could actually score with the goalie pulled. And always still enjoying things like Razor using the word "whereabouts" instead of "wherewithal"

I have this bad feeling that even if the Sabres dominate for the rest of the game, Shesterkin is going to steal it for the Rangers.

I actually saw the reply of the play in question. I personally chalked it up to “miscommunication—that’s what preseason is for.” Suffice to say, I’m optimistic to a flaw…

How did Georgiev look? Looks like he had some great saves but largely was hung out to dry?

IMO, the best possible scenario we can have is Georgiev finding his 2018-19 form. I'm curious, if he does—what do we do with everyone else?

Maybe an unpopular take, but I think it was the right call. Kulich had his head down. Both players were going for the puck. Kulich was going right at him. Both players braced for impact, and Kulich got the worst of it.

You're absolutely correct, in principle. Unfortunately, I have far less confidence in any attempt TP would make to "look forward" that I would in him making Lindy part of upper management. And as much sense as what you say makes, I find that type of change incredibly unlikely. Lindy is actually here right now.

Lindy Ruff in a higher role would serve one purpose (and well, IMO): People around the league respect Lindy. He has relationships around the league. That in itself could be one big missing piece of our puzzle.

The GM has just not found the right pieces. We have talent, but we are missing key ingredients. You can point this back to the owner, but there's an outside chance the owner could luck out into a good GM (see Bills) who could solve our problems.
