  1. Do they not teach how to not take a penalty in Winnipeg? First Benson, now Krebs.
  2. Never understood why he was brought back after the end of last season. DG clearly has lost faith in his game as a scorer and never has been someone that plays a two way or even tough to play against game. KA has to bite the bullet and move him for anything he can get, especially if he is going to call up players from the AHL to play over him.
  3. Rangers pk looking good. I wish the Sabres had a good special teams coach...oh wait the Sabres let Peca go and kept our guys from last year!!! Still the biggest mistake of the offseason!!
  4. I know it's preseason, but Olofsson still sucks as an overall player!! He has a good shot, that is it. There is nothing else about his game that is good.
  5. I know there have been some pretty good players to wear the number 9 for the Sabres over the years, but 20 years from now Benson will be theist to wear the number!!
  6. I think Tuch will be in the $7-8 million range, and be the next captain.
  7. After Sanderson signing I wanted to compare Sens young core 6 with Sabres young core 6. Who would you rather have? Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Mitts, Dahlin, and Power at around $44 million. (Mitts 6.0, Dahlin 10.5, Power 8.5). or Stutzle, B Tkachuk, Batherson, Norris, Chabot, and Sanderson at around $46 million. Don't forget Sabres also have Quinn, JJP, Kulich, Savoi, and Benson waiting the wings!!
  8. I'm still under the assumption that Dahlin will get $10-10.5 at eight years. KA is trying to have Power sign a 3 year bridge around $6 million just like Dahlin did. If he can produce the numbers over the next 4 years beside Dahlin, the the Sabres will give him the same 8 year $10.5 million as Dahlin. This won't hurt as much because the cap would have gone up and the Skinner contract is off the books. This also take Power into his early 30's before he is an UFA instead of 28 years old.
  9. Bouchard signs in Edmonton on 2 year bridge deal for $3.9 AAV. I would say that is good news for Sabres on comparable to Power. I still would bridge Power for 2 years $5 million AAV or 3 years $6 million AAV. let him sign his 8 year contract after that!
  10. It's just not click bait, but until he signs sometime in the next four months, I will hold out and think it would be a shrewd move by management, as long as Kane would agree. So hear me out. Kane is coming off an injury and many teams won't have cap space. Kane could come to Buffalo play on the 2nd or 3rd line and 2nd PP, and try and help get his home team to the playoffs. I would rather have Kane than Olofsson. If the plan is failing miserably and there is no hope for the playoffs, Sabres could still move him to a team at the deadline, and get some future picks. The revenue from ticket and jersey sales would far outweigh a 1 year $5 million contract. Let's debate as he does his rehab, until he signs a contract.
  11. Exactly...in order to improve your team you have to take risks. If you are hoping to have 5-7 prospects turn into stars so you want to hold onto them, then you end up losing some anyway because you can't afford them all. You trade your star for prospects or picks so that doesn't end up helping your current team. Most successful teams are trading picks and prospects to fill out and balance their current roster. This is where Buffalo is currently at. Sabres need to be getting the complimentary pieces to support Dahlin, Power, Thompson, Tuch, Cozens, Skinner, and even Mitts. Too many young players learning and making mistakes only hurts the current core from getting over the hump. Looking back on the Reinhart deal so many people were upset until it turned into Levi and Kulich!!! KA needs to look at Kulich, Savoi, Benson, Rosen, Paltopv, Neuchev and Östlund and realize they will not all be Sabres. Move one or two along with futre picks and improve your team now. You don't have to wait until the trade deadline and overpay.
  12. What is your solution? Just keep drafting top tier guys that all have the same skill set?
  13. So next year they have 12.5 miliion to sign 3 forwards and 2 defenseman. One of the fowards being Stamkos.
  14. With the signing of EJ it made Bush expendable. Bryson will get waived and either get claimed or add experience in Rochester. Stillman will be our 7th. Mule/ Dahlin Power/ Cliffton Joker/ EJ Stillman
  15. I guess I have always looked at it the opposite. I am trading the prospect for someone who has already worked out and become a great player. Isn't that better than having the hopes that a prospect will work out!!
  16. I think KA will start the year with all 3 in the NHL. By Thanksgiving he will move one to a team that has suffered a goalie injury and willing to pay a pick to get a goalie, even if it is the worse of Comrie or UPL!!
  17. Skinner, Mitts, Tuch Cozens, TNT, Olofsson JJP, Krebs, Greenway Girgs, Jost, Okposo Mule, Dahlin Power, Cliffton Joker, EJ Levi
  18. I have been to several games in Columbus and I like the passion in the fan base. I'm not much of a big city guy, so I stayed away from NY, Chicago, and all the California teams.
  19. I wanted to put some SabreSpacers at ease with our goalie situation to start the year. If Adams and Granato start the year with the 3 headed monster could it work? I looked at the numbers from last year and with the improvement in the defense Sabres fans are hopeful it means an improvement in the goaltending. My thesis is solely based on points earned for games started last year. This projection is soley based on prediction for games played by each during next year. Goalie- games started- W-L-T=Pts Levi- 40 GS 24-12-4=52pts UPL- 25 GS 13-9-3= 29pts Comrie- 17 GS 8-8-1= 17pts That gives Sabres 98 points on the year.
  20. Exactly...with the uncertaintyin the goaltending to start the year I can see them carrying 3 for the first month or so. With 9 NHL defenseman, I see them sending Bryson to AHL if/when he clears waivers. Stillman would be the lone d scratch and let Joker, Cliffton, Bush, and Johnson split time depending on game situation behind Dahlin, Power and Mule. Also, since it is the beginning of the season throwing a couple double shifts to Thompsson, Cozens, Tuch, Skinner, and Mitts can also spread the offense around the top lines.
