This prospect pool is probably the best I've seen since the Miller/Pominville years and hopefully even better. Do those in the know think Mats Lindgren will make the jump to the AHL this year? I'm looking at his WHL stats and it looks like he doesn't have much more to prove there but I could be wrong. Also is Zach Benson eligible for the AHL? If so he will be there this year or does he spend another year in the WHL? Curious to see what some say.

I was very happy with this class, to land a talent like Benson at 13 is really just a homerun for me. I know people see the size and immediately just think he'll be a pushover but the dude is legit scrappy and has a very nice defensive game as well. Every pick was over 6' after benson so i love that they are recognizing that you also need size to go along with skill in the form of the Kings back when they won the Cup with Dustin brown, Jeff carter, Anze kopitar, marian Gaborik, Tanner Pearson, Drew daughty. I like what we're doing and I'm really feeling good about this class and the season . Let's get a goalie, top 4 defensemen maybe now add a veteran W who can replace Quinn's production and lets finally make the damn playoffs.

I love outside of Benson that it looks like we drafted big skilled forwards and high compete, big defensemen. I'm not too keen on Wahlberg to be honest but I'll be doing my homework on him.

Why can't we have nice things?

Great pickup here, everytime I look him up analysts and guru's talk about his elite compete level. I really like that he's a big body guy, I hope he can hit as well. I'd love to have a team of skill and who can lay the lumber.

What some might not know about Benson is that he's also pretty good defensively, reading up alot about his game and he seems to be a scrappy, qucik, pass happy, 2 way forward.

Alot of reaching for Dmen in this draft.

This dude gets passed around more than Madonna in the 90's.

The thing is they may not be paired together, like some poster said this could be a Jeff Skinner replacement down the road.

I'm not for taking small guys but if benson is there, this would be an absolute steal of the draft and pair him with Savoie!
