Forwards This Season 2021-22 & Beyond

Yes. Quick, with the addition of Power, Quinn, Samuelsson and Krebs to the currently signed players, the Sabres have 15 (11 forwards and 4 D) guys for next season already, but for only 41,865,334. RFAs and lesser UFAs like Murray, Bryson, UPL, Pysyk and Hinostroza should be cheap to keep. Also kids like Fitzgerald, JJP and Laaksonen are on rookie deals and our cheap also if they make the team. The only exception is Olofsson. If Pysyk, Bryson, Murray and UPL stay on the team, you have approximately 45 mill invested in 19 guys, leaving 1G, 1F, and 1D slot to get to 22 guys and around 17 mill to spend. Assuming VO is also retained, that takes the last F slot. Given his career so far, I don't see a 3 year deal at 5 per season out of the question. KA needs to spend the money just to get to the cap floor and to lockup on our best goal scorers. -
Ok, but you didn’t answer my question. Do you think ND could have beaten GA or Bama this season? By the way, I do agree that next year GA has an easier schedule on paper then ND, but that doesn't mean anything once the season begins. in 2021 Georgia played 7 ranked teams and went 6-1 against them. ND played 3 and went 1-2.

Dylan Cozens: naive kid, or culture change spokesman

Until we see Levi as a pro, I’ll reserve judgement (and the Hopium). -
GA and the Braves have been playoff contenders often during their droughts. The Bills haven’t won or come close to a championship in decades. Last year’s visit to the AFC championship game was their first final 4 appearance since 1993. Prior to last season, the Sabres had made visits to the final four most recently in 2006 and 2007.

It’s called Hopium and it’s very dangerous stuff. It must be taken wisely and used as directed it can lead to championships (Braves, Dawgs 😁). One legit worry is still the goaltending. If we don’t get solid goaltending we aren’t going anywhere. -
And you’ll get the added benefit of being able to move down to the 100 level.

I don’t blame Eichel for anything that happened here during his tenure. It’s not his fault that he played for the worst managed and worst coached team in the NHL for the past decade. However he asked to be traded and was. Now he is just another putz playing elsewhere. Hopefully the new look Sabres will meet him in the Cup finals in the next few years and kick his Boston behind. If anything has been proven the last few months, even teams like the Braves and Bulldawgs, who have been wandering in the desert for 25-40 years, can finally get over the hump. Now it’s time for the Bills and Sabres to rise up.

I’ve been so fortunate this year to attend do many GA and Braves games this past season. Not bad when you go to the playoffs and beat the No 1. And No. 2 teams 67-29.
-
We are the Champions. It’s funny to hear a ND fan complain. They played two teams this past season (Cin & Okst) and lost. Georgia beat then No 3. Clemson, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 18 Auburn, No. 11 Kentucky, No. 2 Michigan and now No. 1 Alabama. What more can they do? Apparently they need to get killed in the playoffs and bowl games like ND. @Eleven, Do you really think ND would have beaten GA or Bama in the playoffs?

6-9 at half. Can you say two strong defenses.
-
Gained 60 yards on the first 2 screens and didn’t run one again. Moved the ball easily with West Coast type passing and he stopped that also. No we need to run out the clock out in the 2nd qtr.
-
We won’t won a Super Bowl with our current coordinators.
-
Lol. We are 9 points from being last in the NHL again and 12 points from a playoff spot held by Boston who has 3 games in hand and a .612 win % compared to our .382. Time to rotate the kids and see what they can do.

The Athletic Was Purchased By the Ny Times
GASabresIUFAN replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
No it’s business commentary. This company was once twice the size it is today. It’s revenue has been mostly flat for a decade. -
How long until it’s merged into the failing NY Times? 6 Months, a year? Less?
-
Its amazing how a talented forward looks like when he plays with other talented forwards. Dear DG, next time please try R2 with guys who can actually play NHL hockey. Also this Quinn guy is pretty good.

That might very well be true, but the change to next year is an extreme upgrade Here is them most common roster so far this season: Thompson, Asplund, Okposo, Hinostroza, Skinner, Girgensons, Cozens, Bjork, Eakin, Hayden, Olofsson, Caggiula. Pysyk, Dahlin, Bryson, Miller, Butcher, Hagg Tokarski Next Year: Thompson, Asplund, Okposo, TUCH, Skinner, Girgensons, Cozens, QUINN, KREBS, MITTLESTADT, Olofsson, JJP (R2 and Murray are also still available) Pysyk, Dahlin, Bryson, SAMUELSSON, POWER, JOKIHARJU (Pysyk and Bryson might also be replaced). UPL or Someone else Just getting rid of Hayden, Eakin, Caggiula, Bjork, Hagg, Butcher and Miller off this team will be will make things better. -

I wouldn't be surprised if he is waived after this season or traded for a bag of pucks at the deadline. -
A fixture on the AHL Buffalo Bisons back in the day.

Here are some of the other 1 gamers for the Sabres and for their careers. Michel Deziel - appeared in 1 playoff game and that was the only NHL game of his career. Ouch Jeff Eatough - an emergency OHL recall - only NHL game of his career. Francois Quay - former 8th rd pick played 1 game despite being a 1pt a game guy in the AHL. Trent Kaese - another 8th rd pick who managed a single NHL game. Sean McMorrow - see Taese and Quay, except he was a fighter David Moravec - a 4th straight 8th rd pick on this list who appeared in 1 game. He is a strange one. He was an established player in the Czech Republic, appeared in one game for the Sabres and that was his only game in NA. No AHL or other games for other organizations. Weird. We also can't forget the 3rd Ramsey, Wayne. While Craig Ramsay is 2nd in games played for the Sabres at 1070 and Mike Ramsey 3rd at 911, old Wayne played 2.

Ralph Krueger would have loved Cloutier.
-
Colin Stuart. I wrote a blurb about the brothers who played for the Sabres and I came across Colin Stuart, brother of long-time NHL D Mark Stuart. He played 5 games for the Sabres, and I can honestly say I had no idea until I looked it up.
-
We also should mention our 3 coaches whose brothers played in the NHL. Ron Rolston is All-star Brian Rolston's older brother. Current HC Don Granato is All-star Tony Granato's younger brother. Neither Ron or Don played in the NHL. Lastly, the great Marcel Pronovost, who was the Sabres coach for a season and a half in the late 1970s, was the best of the 3 NHL playing Pronovost brothers.

I used to think this. We have had so many brothers over the years. Ultimately that scales are somewhat in our favor. We certainly had the better Miller brother. We also drafted the better Turgeon, Playfair, McKegney, Biron, and Reinhart and so far the best Mittelstadt. We also acquired the better Stanfield, Drury and Thompson brother. DR acquired the better Pyatt (Taylor) in the Peca deal and Jbot acquired the better Gionta brother Brian. We drafted 3 glaring "lesser" brothers in Nylander, Primeau, and Gretzky, but Wayne Primeau had a very solid career. Did you know that Wayne and Keith actually had an in game fight when Wayne played for the Sabres? We probably also drafted the lesser Seiling but it's close. We drafted the lesser Foligno, but Marcus was still an excellent player for us. Truthfully we should have also drafted Nick instead of Persson. We also acquired the lesser Dryden. I also don't think Gilles Hamel was a good as his brother Jean. We also now have the lesser Subban. In all likelihood we drafted the lesser Guhle brother. We drafted the lesser Moller and the lesser Patrick, but in both cases the better brother also played for the Sabres (James and Randy). We also had both Sauve brothers (Bob drafted by us and JF signed as an UDFA) and both O'Reilly brothers. In the brief time in Buffalo category we have the following. I'm not sure what to call Eric Staal's visit to Buffalo. I do think Marc is the best of the Staal brothers, but all 3 brothers have had noteworthy careers. We also briefly had the better Paiement, Nolan, and Regehr brother but the lesser Niedermayer. The shortest stint for a brother is Colin Stuart's 5 games in Buffalo, which I don't even remember. I need to mention him in the Obscure Thread. His brother Mark was a solid D for Boston and WPG. EDIT: I forgot the great John Gould, whose 92 games for the Sabres were more then brother Larry's 2 total NHL games. The crazy thing is that I remember most of these players. I didn't remember Colin Stuart or that Jean Hamel was Gilles' brother. Did I miss anyone?
