  1. His consensus rating was 21 on draft day. Out of the 15 rankings I looked at only 12 had him with a 1st rd grade. No one had him rated higher than 16 and most had him in the 20s or later.
  2. Where does he rank in upside potential compared to: Mitts, Krebs, JJP, Quinn, Cozens, Savoie, Kulich or Östlund ? Given what we know about Thompson and Tuch he’s arguably the 11th most talented forward in the organization right now and possibly 12th (Greenway) or 13th, if we take a forward at 13 in the draft. Rosen might not have been a 1st talent if he came out in 2023. He was a reach at 14. He may have 2nd line potential, but given the players in front of him, I doubt he reaches that potential with the Sabres.
  3. Maybe Pitt will trade us Casey DeSmith. He's been really good in this tourney so far.
  4. Bold move Cotton!
  5. Yeah! zzzzzzzz. At least KA wanted KO's 1000th NHL game to be in blue and gold (or red and black or white and blue w gold trim or.......). This does make it much less likely Z returns. Current forwards under contract - Skinner, Thompson, Tuch, Cozens, Greenway, Mitts, KO, Krebs, Quinn, JJP, and VO. That's 11 forwards for those counting at home. Also Savoie and Kulich are under contract. Jost and Rousek are RFAs. Not many spaces left with at least 10 of 11 Sabres from last season almost certain to return next fall.
  6. Are we gearing up for the ex-Sabres Cup final? Eichel, Carrier and McNabb vs Reinhart, Montour and Fitzgerald?
  7. @Crusader1969 Based on your list and based on how KA looks at UFAs G - Andersen or Hill, although my guess is LV retains Hill D - Orlov for the reasons I’ve mentioned earlier, but if KA isn’t interested in long-term, Soucey, Schenn and Clifton top the list. Gavrikov brings good things as well, but again he’s a LHD and I doubt KA wants someone here for 5 years that isn’t one of his guys. F - Haula is certainly on my list as is Barbashev, but Ivthink we’ll see forwards out not in.
  8. Let’s put the band back together. Off-season moves G - Ullmark trade D - Myers and Zadorov F - Compher and Marcus Foligno
  9. Yes the Wpg Comrie is clearly better than the Buffalo Comrie. 😉
  10. And all are better that UPL and Comrie
  11. I had a solid 1st rd grade on JJP and was honestly surprised he lasted so long. I don’t think of him as a 2nd rd pick, but yes Neuchev is the most anticipated 3rd rd or later pick, maybe since Baptiste. Hopefully, he'll fare better than Nick did. (Nick is doing well in Europe).
  12. Canada is about as well managed and coached as the Maple Leafs.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Was sent there for a company meeting and heard all these great things. Let's just say the city didn't live up to the hype.
  14. Incorrect. Atlanta has sold out nearly every game this season. The rules changes have been mostly great and attendance and ratings are up across the leagues.
  15. Point taken, but like his brother Quinn, he is dynamic from the backend blueline (that sounds better).
  16. If you include the now traded Bloom. That draft looked really good on draft day. Nadeau was a huge bargain in the 4th round and Kozak developed quickly for a 7th round pick. The biggest head-scratcher was Sardarian in the 3rd. 2022 holds similar promise into the 6th rd. Komarov in the 5th and Richard in the 6th are showing real promise. Neuchev might be the most anticipated non-1st rd pick in a while.
  17. Stillman is on a small contract and given our injury history, the odds favor all 8 getting plenty of playing time. It also gives DG a chance to rest guys with nagging injuries and create personnel matchups such as a more physical group against certain teams and a skating group against others. Truthfully none of Bush, Stillman or Joki have much of an argument for not sitting given their play much of last season. FYI: Dahlin and Power played 78 & 79 games last season. Dahlin would have probably taken more time off because of nagging injuries if we had had decent depth. Bush and Joki played in the 60s, Matt and Bryson in the 50s, and 4 others played between 17 & 33 games. There is clearly plenty of work to go around.
  18. Why? Adding both just gives us 8 capable (ok 7 capable plus Stillman) D.
  19. It would be interesting to add both. They have experience playing together, they have the skills sets we need, they were coached well by our friend Lindy Ruff and their playoff experience will help the young Sabres. Scary that NJ is adding Hughes and Nemec.
  20. What he said is Wash is his first choice if a deal could be worked out, but he’s open to a return to Boston as his second choice. He also said it’s his last contract, implying he wants to get paid and I don’t think either team can afford his services. Don’t forget he was traded because Wash and he were miles apart on a new deal.
  21. He has 2 more years on his Russian contract. The Sabres have so many younger forward prospect already pushing for jobs, where does he fit in two more years. He’ll first have to play in the A to get adjusted to the NA game and culture, so at best it’s 3 years before he sniffs the NHL.
  22. How many of these Russians ever play for the Sabres? It’s funny but I think Novikov has the best chance followed by Komarov. Neuchev is the one I’m most excited to see. I also doubt we’ll ever see Poltapov in NA.
  23. How about Orlov in Buffalo?
  24. It’s why you need that 3rd scoring line and good defense
  25. Build a stadium at Universal Orlando
