Sabres have done it! No longer last in Eastern Conference

The point is, if we trade/package him for a proven player this summer, we can end the cycle of being the youngest team in the league whose veterans eventually lose their love of the game and leave.
-
Before we get ahead of ourselves, remember that Quinn dominated in the AHL... Like really dominated. Where is he now? We don't need to keep being the youngest team in the league. He's so far from being able to contribute... If he ever does. It's way easier said than done, but let's use him as part of a package to get a legit top 6 F or top 4 D. Let's see who can't afford to sign all their vets this summer and make a deal.

Sounds like a real good trade piece!

So you're saying running multipage threads on players wanting out due to their reactions after they score might be a waste of time? That said, I remember UPL doing a Finnish interview where he seemed unhappy and didn't like being called UPL. Do you think we can lay into the UPL thing a little harder? I figure we can upgrade from him with a 37yo journeyman, and keep the $5 million a season for a new paint job in the arena.
-
I would still trade him in a McLeod - Savoie style deal. Hopefully his value keeps rising to get us a guy even better than McLeod.

I don't like UPL. I don't want him on my team anymore.

Best Pizza City Rankings: Buffalo #4 Cool... ROC #1 WHAT?!?!
JoeSchmoe replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Does anyone besides me like Pearl St Grill pizza? It's inconsistent, but when it's good, it's really good. I think I prefer it to Imperial which is my go to when my daughter plays hockey in that neck of the woods. We had a bachelor party for a friend at a Sabres - Leafs game maybe 7 or 8 years ago. We were all Canadians and I was the only Sabres fan. One friend in the party was from North Bay (home of Craig Rivet) 3.5 hours north of Toronto. He liked the pizza so much he brought his girlfriend back the following weekend for a hockey-shopping-pizza getaway, with the pizza being the focus. -
This thread can easily be summarized. Look at old man Reimer, and then look at UPL. One is an NHL goalie in the twilight of his career. One is not an NHL goalie. One wins us games. One does not.
-
I just checked and that's right. Hellebuyck is right behind him at 5th so the metric checks out to show the goaltender value. As a team (all goalies in net), Buffalo is 8th in expected goals meaning the defense is marginally better than UPL's 31 out of 34.
-
I'm talking about Goals Saved Above Expected. There are 34 goalies that have played more than 30 games. Hellebuyck is the league leader at 34.4 goals saved above expected. Median #17 is Ullmark at 9.8. UPL is 31 of 34 at -5.6.

I might be the biggest Rosen/Γstlund critic here. Hopefully they keep on making me look bad.

Lafferty. Never, ever leave out Lafferty.

It's different. If UPL isn't expected to make saves because his D left him out to dry he's not penalized in the Goals Saved Above Expected stat (on average). In the dropped pass example the QB is penalized.
