So far Zack Taylor and his staff is light years ahead of ours.

I have a bit different view. The mid to late 70’s, despite all that talent only made one true cup run. The 80’s were the infamous one and done years. The 90’s were probably the best based on having one of the greatest net minder’s of all time but failed because we didn’t build enough offensive depth. The 2000’s we had two great years and management’s ineptitude destroyed the team as fast as they made it. And since it’s been an unmitigated disaster with no true end in sight.

In the modern NHL, no team has gone more than 10 years. We are going on 13. Historically compared to other franchises, we have one of the worst records and least playoff appearances. It’s actually staggering compared to most other teams that have been around as long.

Interesting of the 8 teams remaining, McDermott is the only defensive coach left.

We might have the worst defense of all time. We literally cannot keep any team from scoring at least 4 goals on us. Granato obviously must be terrible at teaching team defense concepts.

Agreed. I’d like to see a dominant #2 WR like Cincy has to compliment Diggs. Unquestionably we need to upgrade the OLine.

My point was it seems clearly we are a lesser off without him. We need to find an offensive identity other than “throw deep” and get an actual run game. If we don’t advance this year, a serious look into our organizational philosophy should be considered before we waste JA17 career because it’s not going to be any easier in the future.

Of course we don’t. Not the point.

Where did I say to fire McDermott?

Unfortunately we might of had one of the most gifted up and coming coaches in our building, and now he’s coaching the Giants. And clearly he knows what he is doing.

Much different playoffs so far than last year. This year seemed everyone was making a lot of mistakes and poor coaching decisions overall.

Still possible but until our goals against suddenly and rapidly goes down, no realistic chance. This team doesn’t defend or keep the puck out if the net we’ll even though we can score.
