Big game. The team is obviously playing poorly but I am not convinced a long losing streak will change anything (firing Ruff). So let's stay in this playoff race until we get this team right and go on our predictable late season run. I have a feeling Stafford and Grigorenko (both overdue) will score tonight.

Just a last point on the game. I don't know if the faceoff circle was brought up. I don't have the stats nor the time at work to look them up but I thought they did a MUCH better job in the dot last night. They need to keep that up.

I'm not sure where you've seen this. I'm a pretty big Hodgson fan and I think he takes enough heat on this board. No way I would call him the little darling. You can definelty make the point that Hodgson is playing with Vanek and Pommers and that's why he's piling up the points. However, I like how you somewhat minipulated the stats to drive home your point. There have only been 11 games this year. You informed us of the last 7, therefore the first 4 games of the year: Hodgson 3 goals 1 assist, Ennis 0 goals, 1 assist.

I completely agree with your Vanek point. However, I'm not sure Regier is wrong in saying what he said. We are third in the entire conference in Goals for per game at 3.18. Only Pitt and Tampa are ahead of us yet we're in second last. It's obviously our D killing us and not our O. I'm also not going to get into the 'but our goals for is only x if you don't include Vanek.' Well he's on our team so you have to include him which only supports your first point.

If there is ever an opportunity to get out of this funk it's tonight. Montreal just played a fairly emotional (for division lead) game last night and we've been sitting at home waiting for them. Another loss tonight, especailly uninspired, and I'm really going to lose it.

I hear ya, and I would put up with one terrible (shortened) year to get a top 3 pick in this years draft. Problem is 10 games is a long way off and you know this team as much as I do that this team won't finish that low. I hate that we finish between 8-11th but that's who we are. I still don't buy us being 14th or 15th in the East.

I love how we have Hecht out there with less than a minute to go. Not that it was a bad move by Ruff, we obviously arn't that good talent wise. An afterthought to this team and he's one of our best forwards.

Ok, good to know it's not just me I suppose. I really hate complaining on a free board but it's really annoying this happens so frequently.

Well we've looked terrbile but are still only one win out of a playoff spot (ya I know we've played an extra game). I don't care how it looks, just get me the two points and some confidence in this team. As for losing for the draft pick, my uncle brought this up at our superbowl party and I just think it's way too early for that. Also, despite the fact we're not that good of a team, I still don't think we're bad enough to really be within the bottom two or three teams in the league. We would need a Vanek and possibly Miller season ending injury to even have a slim chance at that. To Admins: I'd say 20% of the time when I want to post a comment my screen will look like it's thinking and it says saving post but never actually posts. I have to copy what I wrote, refresh the page, paste it and hit post again and it usually works. It's happening on my work and two home computers. What's up with that?
