I would love to see some improvement from the young guys. I want it to be guys like Mez and Beno losing us games and not someone like Risto. Risto has been alright so far, I would like to see some progress from him as the year goes along.

Since post deadline this is true. But currently this team is on a pace for 37 points. Last years team ended with 52 points and was dead last by a longshot. I think Carolina's disaster start to the season has some over-rating the points we're getting so far.

I'm with you on this if it is a big time forward prospect coming back. But the rumors of guys like Larkin just don't do it for me.

I agree with you TBP (as what seems like per usual) but I don't think he will be used properly here. The way Ted is using him and his rep for not giving rookies big minutes I can't help but think sending him down and saving a year of his ELC is the right move. Give him big minutes down there and keep in constant contact with him in regards to his off ice training. Plus captaining Team Canada at the WJC will be a good experience. I know practicing with an NHL club could help him, this is still one of the worst in the league and he is playing under a coach who won't play him much come gametime.

What you stated Liger is the only short term benefit I see to them trading him. He would very much help the tank but after this year we're going to be looking for guys like him. That's why I hope he remains a Sabre.

As others have pointed out Carolina has had some early season injuries and look considerably better than the Sabres in most stats categories (other than wins). I think the Canes will start to win some games soon. We're three points up (down?) with three more games played. It's a long year, I'm not ready to give up on this thing at Halloween.

Have faith, this sabres team knows how to come roaring back to steal a point late. Peg also with a point and Florida down late.

I flipped over to that Blues game the other night and Backes looked very dazed when he got lit up.

Boston hasn't been playing the ol usual Bruins style hockey and have started very slow this season going 5-6-0. This may not be the bloodbath we all think it will be.

I still like McDavid more but it is nice to see some others finally catching on to the second half of McEichel. This is not McDavid or bust. IMO this is McDavid / Eichel or bust.

The best I can do is Romo, Ball and one of Oliver, Tate, McKinnon, Micheal Floyd or Keenan Allen.

Your 1/4 chance to draft McDavid means you obviously don't know about Jack Eichel. We come in last and we have a 4/4 chance of drafting one of those guys. Why do we have to keep typing this?

So my goaltending after last night has me in the lead 2-0, 1.00 - 5.46 and .958 - .830 in the goaltending categories (thanks Sabres ineptitude). I have my two goalie starts. Do I just not start my goaltending the rest of the week to ensure I win the save % and GAA or because his stats are so bad I should think about playing a tender in the right circumstance to try and work on my wins? -
I can go Monte Ball (former first round pick who should be back soon) and your pick of McKinnon, Tate or Oliver.

I think TM has a plan and is playing it out right now. I can see why they want to keep Grigo down in Roch for a full year but IMO Pysyk and to a lesser extend McCabe have no business being down there. Having said that, this team is obviously not a playoff contender so lets just stay the course and let Pysyk and McCabe get big minutes on the farm to help develop their game further. If we were really in contention this year I think you would see those guys (especially Pysyk) up here. -
Nope. Toronto's last record for shots on goal against was 13 they were saying on the broadcast. It happened in the '50s and '70s. We smashed that record!

I know H2H is the first tiebreak but it's different if it's a three way tie. I always thought it should be total points for but that's not how NFL.com seems to do it.

I agree with TBP, I really can't say Carolina is a worse hockey team then we are. Our possession stats are through the roof bad, we can't seem to score more then 2 goals a game (usually less than 2) and our goaltending likely won't keep us in it every game. Carolina has already been hit with the injury bug and has guys returning whereas this is our team at full health. God forbid a guy like Gorges, Myers or Girgs goes down for a month. All hope is far from lost.
