I realize these things take time but I'm hoping this negotiation doesn't drag out too much longer. What are we thinking? 6 year deal? 8 year deal? Bridge?

So......looks like Linus won't be attending camp due to illness. Hope he is alright. Ofcourse they have Nylander wearing a weird number (75). Here's a link to roster and numbers. http://sabres.nhl.com/v2/ext/2016-17%20Season/Development%20Camp/20160706-DevelopmentCamp-Roster.pdf

I do understand that. But no Jack or Sam this year. I think if they stuck with the flat $10 they would have been fine. It's the increase to $20 and, more aggravating then anything, the service charges that have me kind of pissed off. I know, I could have chose not to buy. Edit - Does anyone know the seating capacity in there? I read online it's 1,800. I guess if it's that small of a venue they figure they will still sell out even at those prices. Damn Justin Bieber....

I agree with this but also agree with Hoss point. No need to rush him at all. But he did have a year in junior after his draft year. Does he need more time? If in doubt I would err on the side of caution and send him back. Especially since the big club has enough talent we don't 'need' these guys right away. But....If he comes to camp and is clearly superior to a guy like Gorges then maybe he is ready.
-
This is probably what is going to happen unless he has an amazing camp and 9 game tryout.
-
Ya it's very doubtful he makes it and can't go to Rochester. So he will probably be send back to juniors again. Only guy I could see him beating is Gorges. That would push Gorges to 7th man. Honestly not sure what's better for development. Another year in juniors which he's already played 3 full seasons and played well or sheltered 3rd pairing NHL minutes. Up to the kid.

Man I forgot how smart Sam is. Is it October yet?

These jokes never get old. Well played gentlemen..... I remember the deal between Oshawa and London to acquire McCarron and Mermis. Cliff Pu was the centerpiece of the trade going back to London. Saw him a couple of times live but didn't notice him much. That was his first few games ever in the OHL so won't put much stock in first observations. He sure didn't put up many points thus far in the OHL but hopefully that's a result of him playing second fiddle to the stars. This will be a big year for his development and hoping he can jump to atleast a point per game being on a top line with Knights this year. London is always a great spot to be development wise.

Interesting. I think I would like to see him more with ROR anyways. Let's just hope DD doesn't spend 30 games figuring out the lines again this year.
-
I've also read it was around 50/50 with and without Tavares. Two things I like though. 1. Sounds like he played well away from Tavares and he didn't just rack up points due to his linemates. 2. Even if he picked up most his points playing with Tavares I'm perfectly fine with that. Shows he can play with a superstar player and put up numbers. E Kane is a good player in a lot of ways but he's not suited to playing with a guy like Jack IMO so it's good to know KO is someone who can compliment a star player nicely.

How nice is this? It was only 3/4 years ago guys like Grigorenko and Zadorov were the saviors and thus rushed onto the Sabres. Now we can afford to let our young guns properly develop prior to bringing them up ala Detroit.

Ya I guess I haven't chimed in on my displeasure yet. I booked a hotel 2 weeks ago for Saturday night so we could make a weekend out of seeing the prospect game. Too late to back out as hotel is paid for but $20 plus a bunch of 'service fees' per ticket? Are you kidding me? I don't even have to pay convenience charges or all that other garbage for regular season mini pack prices. I'm blaming Russ Brandon on this one. That price (along with the service fees) just feels like they're gouging. No Eichel this year and it's cost me $74.20 American ($100 Canadian) for 3 friggen tickets. As all of us on here, I'm a huge Sabres fan but I'm not coming next year if they're charging $20 and all those extra fees again for a glorified scrimmage.

Awesome. Someone's getting the Pi avatar treatment next offseason :flirt:

Well that's interesting then, did not know that. I guess I'll just hope Murray and the pegulas play their cards right at the meeting this week. To me it just feels like one minute the logic behind the signing makes too much sense for it not to happen. Then ice water gets thrown on it. I'm impatient damit!!
-
He's good friends with eichel and play on the same summer league team ffs. When Murray traded for him I think it's logical to have assumed Murray has spoken with eichel and there's a good shot he would sign. I was borderline shocked when they kept insisting on going to market August 15th. Then the agent sends the email claiming they're open to anything and I think ok it was a ploy to ensure no tampering. Now it sounds like he is going to market again. Based on the criteria listed and being buddies with eichel how does Buffalo not provide the best fit? Open top 6 spot? Check. Close to home but not in that market? Check. Playing for a team on the rise and superstar owners? Check. Worried about ur second contract? Biggest check as u will likely be playing with the last two years second overall phenoms. Where or what is the issue here?

To get Landy and Barrie we're talking about adding Nylander to that package plus.
-
No chance that's the deal. Absolutely no chance.
-
RHD seem to have enormous value right now. Maybe we can get Land for Bogo and Girgs?
-
F5 F5 F5 Wait, does anyone actually use F5 to refresh?
-
This. Not into trading Kane or Ennis as you will be getting very few pennies on the dollar right now.
-
I don't believe he will maximize earnings by doing this as he can still only sign an ELC with whichever team he signs with. But this does give him the opportunity to choose where he wants to go.
-
I like this comparison. I think Alex has 30/30 potential for sure. He's not going to battle in the corners or play a ROR style game. But offensively he's going to put up numbers. Slide in his skill set with a guy like Jack and he could put up some unbelievable numbers. His coach said he's the most skilled players he's ever seen in all his years of coaching.
-
Somehow I felt relieved finding out this news. I didn't want him signing in Toronto. I love how the news leaked about Stamkos meeting in Toronto yesterday just to get their hopes up before they came crashing down!
-
Because....wait for it....Buf

Again, one of those guys is a D man. I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying it's very risky period. Riskier giving it to 4 forwards knowing you have a stud Dman you will probably have to pay sooner then later or a stud guy you will need to bring in if he doesn't pan out. No to mention your drafting has to be absolutely supreme to continue rotating in guys on ELC who can give you some production. There's a reason Tampa is in a difficult spot right now. They have too many guys coming off ELC who need to get paid. That will happen to us.
