I'm going to start out that I'm a grumpy old man....when did hockey broadcasts become unwatchable? It's all talking and no play by play. 3 people just chatting during the action. Playoff hockey is great, crowds going nuts and these idiots are just talking during . Then a goal is scored and they stop and say...and it's in. Come on. They need to watch old HNIC of Danny Gallivan and Dick Irvin. Also, listen to RJ once in a while.  ESPN puts too much on the screen. Pics of 5 players and the amount of ice time. Highlighting the player with the puck on the PP. Unnecessary. Ok, I'm done.

You stopped yelling at kids on your lawn enough to post this rant?

I can attest to the fact that he is old and grumpy.

Early prognostication on whether the referendum passes?

Whatever happens , expect Kari Lake to complain.

I think it passes because it's a good deal for Tempe, the opponents seem to mostly be from Phoenix. I think Tempe residents would see it as a good thing, which it is. The Glendale development around the arena is awesome, this will be similar.

Moving him to give playing time to younger players will likely yield an increase in +/- team-wide.

I think Kevyn moves him the same way he moved Risto and will get an unexpectedly good return.

I would think a guy coming off a 28 goal season, and with 3 20 goal seasons in 4 years should get an 'expectedly' good return.

Today was the closest I've seen Casey look to the player that had us all so excited during the Buffalo World Juniors: a puck hound and playmaker.

It's not lost on me that it was happening between the team's two best wingers. Nor is it lost that it happened against perhaps the NHL's best defence corps.

It's looking more and more like Granato has fixed another one.

Granato really gets the best production from all his players. He really is amazing at player development.  Not wasting any talent out there.

There is no question that the proposed Arizona project is much greater and complex than the Buffalo stadium project. My point with my previous post is that all the parties here were aware of not only what could be done but also what realistically couldn't be done. The Buffalo stadium project was a simple project compared to the grander and more multi-faced project in your area. Let's not forget that in the Buffalo area simple projects have a history of getting stalled due to intransigence. A classic example of that was the Peace Bridge project that was fought over for a generation. In the end, the project died because sides were not willing to make the necessary compromises. That didn't happen here. The timeline here was short. The disputes were worked out. The new stadium will get build. There is a saying that is very applicable here: Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good.

When I moved away in 1999, the new Peace Bridge project was just passed. I was thinking that it would be nice to be around for that. It's been 24 years.  Crazy.

The Bills went through the laborious process of getting an approval for a new stadium. It went fairly smoothly. The attention to detail and cooperation between the many parties involved should be appreciated. It's a complex and long process. We should give credit to all those involved who got it done.

But really no comparison to this project. The issue the city of Phoenix has is in regards to the residential apartments that will be part of the project and will be in the flight path of the airport.  The Bills were just about a stadium, this is about a huge multi-billion dollar project of an arena , shops , restaurants, hotels and apartments. And no real taxpayer money for the project, just some infrastructure.

I'm biased, living here and hoping for the team to stay. They've never had the right place to play along with stable ownership. Hopefully this will finally be the right combo. The Coyotes outdrew the Sabres , Ottawa and I think Florida last season. They'll do fine in Tempe.  The vote is mid May so we will know shortly.

And two of the guys pulling up the Sabres age won't be hear next year:  Anderson (41) and Okposos, however old he is. They're being replaced by a 21 year old goalie, and two 19 year old forwards (Kulich and Savoie)

I think it might not be the best idea to have a couple 19 year olds in the lineup.  Both Quinn and JJ have gone through extended slumps, these 2 likely would as well. That creates 0-8 stretches. I think we need some physical vets on offense and defense. We got pushed around a lot tonight.

Why is there a need for sports teams to be involved with peoples sexual preferences? Keep politics out of the sport!!! Just play hockey!

It's not really politics, it's sports teams trying to be socially aware and good citizens. It's only politics to those looking to discredit the event. Calling it political is lazy thinking, no politicians are involved to the best of my knowledge.  Military appreciation night is more political as the POTUS is commander in chief of the armed forces and the govt funds the military.

Yes and speaking of the WHA, one of the few times Punch admitted to screwing up, he let one of those 30 goal scorers bolt to the WHA.

Seeing Tuch hit 30 goals and realizing this team could have four 30 goal scorers made me reminisce when the 1974-75 Sabres were the first team ever to have six 30 goal scorers. They also had a 26 and 25 goal guy.

The record was later tied by 77/78 Islanders and 84/85 Jets.

Most Sabre fans can probably name the 6 Sabre players and maybe the two with 26 and 25. The islander guys are pretty easy too but only a grand master will be able to name the Jet guys.

Anyway, is it inconceivable that this version of the Sabres could eventually match that record? What say you?

Such a fun team to watch.  Luce and Ramsay, our 'checking line' , scoring like they did while playing incredible defense was pretty remarkable.

Good afternoon children of the ⚔️

Looking for a good game from our young (still learning & growing) team.

I also acknowledge that there are som of you that are never happy, regardless of the fact we did not know what we had in this team to start the year,AND there has been a lot of great growth (with room for a lot more).

We're supposed to be happy now? 9th draft pick last year,  right now we're at 10th pick.  Are we supposed to get excited about that 'jump' in the standings?

I have always hated the college draft rules. Especially now with the Entitled generation. Ok, so i am older and believe that you should play with whomever drafted you, but there are other entitled folks too throughout the NHL times that would not play with whomever drafted them. Either way, this rule should be changed.

I'm pretty sure that exercising one's rights according to rules that apply to all drafted, college players is kinda the opposite of an entitled person, someone who thinks they deserve special treatment.  Maybe you should just try calling him woke, I think that's taking the place of entitled as the new made up outrage of the day.
