  1. I don't want apoplectic. I want a full-on apology from all who follow the "don't tax but spend like hell" philosophy of the modern American Republican.

The party's founders would spin in their graves if they saw how perverted it has become.

Sir, with all due respect, do you even know what apoplectic means? Not trying to treat you like an idiot, but I don't know if you got the point.

  2. Look, I will only talk politics as long as you continue to assert your completely uninformed and ignorant opinions. Other than that, I'm happy to keep this off of the board.

This crisis was caused by the Bush Administration. Everyone who's not a Palin devotee ###### knows that. It's simple. Start a war? Gotta pay for a war. And no, I don't mean Afghanistan.

The previous crisis? Caused by Reagan. But at least he finished the (cold) war that he was in. And did it damned well.

Pull your head out of religion for just a second and look at wtf is going on. The neocons do not care about you, your family, gay marriage, abortion, guns, or Jesus. I mean it; they don't. I know they say they do. They DON'T. They just care about making you fearful so that you vote for them.

    Then they spend A LOT.

But they don't tax. Because the people they DO care about (the wealthy), who also don't care about you, your family, gay marriage, abortion, guns, or Jesus, don't want to pay a lot of taxes. They want to be wealthy, they want to be in a society where they can benefit but not contribute, and they don't care about the effects.

They (both the wealthy and the Republican party) definitely do not care about you, your family, and your average income. Or your struggles. But they will have a field day with your fear.

And so they will spend YOUR money, but not tax the people with the most money. When the bill comes around, they will blame "liberals" for feeding the poor (a Christian act if ever I saw one) rather than foolish wars.

Then we get hit with this bs. Again and again.

XC, your politics are ###### and anti-Christian.

Dude, chill out! I was just having a little fun. I didn't go out on some lengthy diatribe this time.

    But, since you went apoplectic,

    ...

EDIT: Let me at least be honest with you. I am not going to rate your post.

  3. Summer Sucks!!! (yes, I know I'm repeating myself but it hits me every goddamned day)

Obama rolls over for the Republicans. Milk toast president. If Hillary were POTUS she would have said, "Look - you have two choices. A one sentence bill that says we're going to raise the debt ceiling into 2013 or the 14th Amendment. Take your choice." Case closed.

    If only...

I know. What a Disappointmint, eh?

  4. That whole thing ticked me off...all of that panic and TV coverage so we can raise the limit on how much we owe. It's like telling your credit card company to raise your limit when you haven't paid your bill.

And forget about how the legislators came off looking like heroes just because they got a deal done right before the deadline.

Well, since you mentioned it, Bloomberg.com has a story going on right now about how this has not helped the markets by any means.

Not stating my opinion. Just sayin'.

  5. No, religious right demands, so all politicians do. If your group doesn't make a stink about everyone NOT saying it, you'd get the sincere folks saying it and no one else.

Remember the stink that y'all caused when Obama happened not have his hand over his heart during an anthem? And it was a STINK. Over nothin'. So now, everyone is going to bow to the BS customs demanded by the religious right, sincere or not.

Consider it the conservative version of the PC movement. You reap what you sow.

You missed the point. I have my reasons, and, yes, I brought it up, but let's just go to our separate corners now.

  6. Plus: I normally don't have much to rave about when it comes to shippers and consignees. However, I have a lot of praise for DOT Foods in Mount Sterling, IL. Even when I couldn't get online with my Air Card last night (I spent the night there since they allowed overnight parking), they gave me a username with password to get on their WiFi. Plus, they were quick to get me unloaded this morning AND even though I had an appointment for Noon Central Time at the same place to pick up a load, the load was already on another trailer and I was out the gate by 9. I couldn't have been happier. Says a lot when shippers and consignees do what they can to make it easier on the drivers, because there are some really horrible shippers out there.

Minus: It's not National Haggis Day.

  7. And for my (extremely minor) complaint: that funny cat video XC posted the other day has been removed from YouTube due to some sort of copyright issue, so now I can't share it with anyone else!

    WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    *&%^%#@@@)%(^$(!($($^)$^)^%$)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man alive! Some people sure do know how to take away all the fun, don't they... :wallbash:

Kill us, for crying out loud! :death:

  8. People who spend 5 minutes backing into a parking spot in a parking lot need to have their cars impounded and licenses revoked.

I'm not so sure I would go that far, but I can sense your frustration.

Look on the bright side: if they're truckers who can't park their 4-wheelers, then they probably drive for my competition.

  9. Before I tell you, congratulations on have the 5000th post in this thread.

He was a hypochondriac, but he thought that if he acted like he already had a certain affliction then he wouldn't get it.

    I'll take it FWIW.

As for the movie, I'm not sure if I will ever get around to watching it. It's not that I don't want to. It's just that when I'm gone from the house 4 weeks at a time, I only get 4 days at home and it's hard to cram in a whole bunch of stuff to get done (besides making the bed squeak).

  10. Ok, let's see if this non-complaint passes the gauntlet of the powers that be...

My wife thinks I have a really sick mind. Every day, when I get a chance to get online, I go over to Wikipedia to look up the Recent deaths. I like to see if someone notable that I've heard about in the past has passed away. She can't believe that I do this. I figure that it hasn't killed me to look this up.

  11. There is nothing I can do about your lack of social skills at this point in your life. What I can bring to your attention, and you have apparently missed, is that this thread has 5,000 light-hearted posts (that occasionally veer into the personal space at the poster's discretion). It is NOT here for your political pontification as you have tried to interject again and again here at Sabrespace.

    Talk politics somewhere else.

Yup. Definitely a personality clash. We've never liked each other.

  12. There's some judgement. Nice disclaimer though.

It was a disclaimer, but it was not judgmental. I'm not Fred Phelps - nor would I ever want to be.

BTW, thanks for the encouragement. If and when the little bundle of blessing and joy comes our way, we are really going to make the most of our time with him or her. And, if there are others that come our way, we'll do the same for them as well.
