  1. Vegas built their team and became successful with a certain identity. Hardworking, egalitarian, scrappy underdog type stuff. Since they they have stripped the roster of many of the players/leaders who were part of that and replaced them with star players from outside the organization in a pretty short time period. They look better on paper, but I don’t think they know quite who they are anymore. I’m kind of interested to see if they can get in harmony and go far in the playoffs or not. I think that they have gone too far.
  2. Isn’t it traditionally thought that good teams ramp up their play as the season progresses? That it’s “easier” to win games earning the season? I have a difficult time squaring the two ideas that early season games don’t really count because teams haven’t turned it on yet, and also that late season games don’t really count because that’s garbage time. So, does only the middle 1/3rd of the season really count?
  3. Very possible that they had that conversation with him when sending him down. Not that they want him to be a goon, but that they need him to make more of an impact with his physicality and be a team leader in that area.
  4. I hope you didn’t take offense. I agree with most of your post, but I can’t help but point out things that a just clearly incorrect. Power’s NCAA season will be over by April 9th at the very latest. That’s the date of the championship game.
  5. My retort for Mr J Fresh would be that if you watch Thompson play, the ways that he is shooting are materially different from years past. Does everyone else see this as well? Maybe he won’t be able to continue shooting this high above expected, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he is able to maintain goal production above xG going forward. He has got a great shot.
  6. Skinner never scored 50, only 40. I like Bryson and he did have a good game, but I wonder about how he fits on the team going forward. Dahlin has been great. He started coming on even before the break. Power will be in Buffalo as soon as Michigan’s season is over. Samuelsson certainly brings something that this group needs. I can see him being a very important piece for quite a long time. I think we need to let Mittelstadt have some time before knowing what is there. He finished last season great. I think he has been better at C than W throughout his career.
  7. Great win. I wonder what leafs fans were muttering to each other as they filed out of the building.
  8. I don’t see any likely scenarios where trading Tuch for futures makes the Sabres better in 2024. I don’t think getting a pick and a prospect for Tuch is likely to make the Sabres better in 2024. If Tuch was old, overplayed, or only had 1-2 years remaining on his contract then I could see possibilities, but that’s not the case.
  9. No player is untouchable. What do you actually have in mind? Because I have a difficult time seeing a scenario where trading him makes Buffalo better 2-3 years from now. Thats the goal right? To be a good (playoff?) team 2-3 years from now. Yes?
  10. That story did not lead into what Peters said. The Torts story came out in June. Peters started talking about this in January, like 6 months later.
  11. You are saying that 6 of him would not make for an excellent top-6? I’m guessing here because you are being unclear. I would agree with that. That’s why I said he could be top-6 on an excellent team, not that he could be the best forward on an excellent team.
  12. Sometimes, yes. I maintain my stance. Tuch is a top 6 level player on a very good team.
  13. This would have been 140% funnier 2 weeks ago.
  14. Ah, ok, I interpreted it as you arguing that he should be traded, which didn’t feel right coming from you, but you are right, you didn’t actually say that, you just asked the questions. I think that it would be nuts to trade him. I think he is a top 6 player on an excellent team.
  15. Tuch is a very good player, good top-6 winger, with the type of game that translates well to the playoffs. He is under contract for 4 more years at a very reasonable salary. He is only 25. He has shown leadership qualities and truly wants to be a Sabre. I honestly think you are trolling.
  16. Could you lay out how you see trading him would make the team better in the future? I’m not getting it.
  17. I don’t believe that to be true. Not that the team could never be moved, but I think it would be very far from a certainty.
  18. Ok.....But why trade him? Are you making some sarcastic point that I am missing?
  19. I see that guy’s videos on YouTube occasionally. He is completely insufferable.
  20. First move? To Hamilton of course! (**Ducks**)
  21. Legitimate question. I can’t say that I have a clue what the answer is. He does have a lot of other dealings and owns other major teams in NYS, so I don’t know if he would consider a move out of state beneficial.
  22. Given the choice between Tsai, this Jamel fella, and Pegulas, I would have to pick Tsai. His WNBA team was just fined 500k because he was paying for too many charter flights for them. The monster.
  23. He means that it’s less quiet by the day, not that it’s less for sale by the day.
  24. Not the Sabres officially, but people who Peters knows from being a long time employee. So yeah, things he heard through the grapevine. Several other prominent people have spoken about talk and interest in sale of the Sabres. There is something there. Some people here are saying “well, the reports are of offers, but not that Pegula is actually interested in selling.” If Pegula was making it know that he has no interest in selling, there simply would not be offers coming in. Also, Jason Peters? Come on man. Sort yourself out.
