  1. Have you guys looked at how the big goalie contracts around the league turn out? There are currently 16 goalies with cap hits of $5M or greater. -1 of them is out of the league. -7 have a SV% of 0.900 or less -4 have a SV% between 0.900 and 0.910 -4 have a SV% over 0.910 League average SV% is 0.904. So only half of them are even near average, and only 4 of them are clearly above. It just rarely turns out well. By trend, do you mean Jonas Johansson?
  2. This is a very contrarian take. The weird part of this draft is that I don’t think I would be surprised if it was correct.
  3. I hope they can get a 1st for him. Maybe a conditional 1st and a B prospect. I don’t think they get anything more than that though.
  4. I think the Sabres need to try to resign him. Have the honest conversation with him. If he wants to go UFA, then move him. Personally, I really hope he is back next year.
  5. You don’t HAVE to keep him. It’s entirely possible that the Sabres CAN’T keep him without objectively overpaying. He is a UFA. He might make the decision for them.
  6. So you just don’t like that we get information so soon? You would rather not hear anything about it until it actually happens? Is that the jist of it? Honestly trying to understand why you are bothered that some on this board like to get information about the Buffalo Sabres.
  7. Until ~6 months ago, they did, for almost 10 years they did.
  8. I don’t think “we” care about whether or not Chad had something first. I think “we” care about whether or not the information that Chad shares is credible.
  9. I don’t necessarily think bringing in Karmanos and or Rutherford a couple months ago would have done much for the Sabres this season. This is more important in terms of long term organization building than in terms of this season’s results.
  10. This would be spectacular. Not just because Rutherford would be great help to Adams, but also because this could be a sign that Pegula actually sees the need to take a step back. That feels like the single most important thing for this organization moving forward.
  11. I assume you are talking about Lemiuex and not Lindros? Here is a story that links to a TSN reporter tweeting about it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescore.com/nhl/news/699212/amp
  12. Boy can’t get pregnant. Hah! Seriously though, I don’t understand why you would accuse him of not really being injured. That’s all.
  13. Eric Lindros famously did it. Not a particularly high pick, but Brendan Lemiuex did it with Buffalo.
  14. I find this all extremely interesting. I would love to add Karmanos, who I think is a good get, and someone else with GM experience in an advisory role. And then those guys together build out the scouting and analytics staffs. Chad D is generally on point with his info, so I’m optimistic.
  15. Like what? Honestly, if you can’t even come up with a reasonable conspiracy theory then what are you even talking about? He missed training camp time with an injury, he looked injured when he was playing, and now they are saying that he has multiple injuries. If you aren’t going to believe that at least give a plausible alternative.
  16. This. I don’t think any player would talk to the media if they were not contractually obligated to do so. And just because he hasn’t appeared for a public flogging doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been in contact with the team.
  17. Then I suppose I was giving input with regards to that question. The players who have left did not suddenly perform better. So, I would say that is one point in support of it being a talent issue as opposed to coaching or chemistry.
  18. Who has??? There might be one or two guys who played better after leaving over the past few years, but for the most part that is NOT the case.
  19. Why do you think that will happen? Is that what’s been happening the past few years?
  20. Jake Neighbors and Dylan Peterson for Hall (50% retained)
  21. I don’t care if this is the worst team ever or not. They are bad enough.
  22. To be honest, I don’t feel this way. Adams has not made any stupid trades yet, I feel like he has a decent grasp on who he wants to trade before the deadline, and what their value is. I feel unreasonably confident that he can handle this TDL business just fine. You think he is going to make huge moves before the offseason? I think it just be UFAs moving out. With all this said, I still want Karmanos and more added to the FO staff.
  23. I would bet that those Bob list rankings do change a lot by the time the draft rolls around. In early December most of those guys had not played any games in their draft year.
  24. Yeah, I agree. Production is ok, but not impressive for a 1st rounder. He would need some development, but he plays with an edge that you can’t really teach. I don’t love everything about him, but if you are looking for a butthole, he’s your guy.
  25. At forward, I don’t think so. Borgen brings some of this on D. Im kind of hoping that the Sabres get a 1st for Hall and use it to draft Zachary L’Heureaux. I certainly wouldn’t hate it. I really feel that Buffalo needs to develop an identity. Relentless and feisty is a good place to start.
