Jonas Johansson Traded to Colorado for 2021 6th Round Pick
Curt replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The tweet suggesting UFA was sent later. I think the way it probably goes is that he is technically by default an RFA, unless he fails to meet certain NHL games played thresholds. -

This actually changes the entire completion of the trade. Johansson was going to be a UFA. So Adams got a 6th for a Johansson rental. -
Yeah, I think he is certainly one of the top guys, and I like what he brings for the Sabres. Like you said, it’s not very clear cut this year, which is why I’m not sure yet. Positive note is that it looks like everyone is going to have some sort of season. Even though it will be quite a bit shorter than normal for most of the CHL guys. There will be something to look at though.

This is pretty much how I feel about Beniers. I have not done enough research to say if I would take him #1 or not though.

Dis, eh? I didn’t say anything about Skinner, and wasn’t even talking about players needing to follow a strict “system” where every player must play the same way. It’s about buying into the team concept and working hard. For example: It’s ok if Skinner goes extra risky on the forecheck, as long as his line mates can compensate a bit. If they are all playing their part and working hard, they’ll make it work. However, it’s not ok to be lazy and not play for each other. Everyone needs to be in it together.

They got the fax machine working! Way to go Kevy! So much suspense for a 6th rounder. It’s fine, I wasn’t expecting much. I thought a 4th could be a possibility though. Guess not. Bye JJ. Best o luck. -
If you lose 12 in a row, nothing you do in the 13th can be considered a drop off. After being named interim coach Granato was not even able to address the team until 2 hours before puck drop.

Maybe, but probably not. He only ever held one job in soccer. He has been involved in hockey his entire life. Surely he is done as an NHL coach though. Also, I don’t want to ever think about him again.

Oh dang, I didn’t know this guy. Looks like someone you can get at the end of the 1st or early 2nd if you really want him. Looks to be ranked as a late 1st to early 3rd round pick most places. Not a guy to take at 10. Bad value probably. I don’t hate the idea of taking a shot at a big RHD though.

Who’s Schmidt?

in·grain verb past tense: engrained; past participle: engrained /ənˈɡrān/ firmly fix or establish (a habit, belief, or attitude) in a person. "they trivialize the struggle and further ingrain the long-standing attitudes"

Yeah, I agree that it probably is not ideal. However, I also think the team has drafted better the past few years than in the 10 years before that. My main concern is that the team drafts well. Their path to that outcome is secondary. So, while I agree with you, if they draft well, I don’t care if every single FO person and scout is from the US of A.

Oh, I don’t think he has near the physical presence or mean streak as Byfuglien. What I’ve seen on him is that he isn’t as strong or physical in battles as you would expect from a player his size. He is generally described as an offense first D with great skater for his size and great transition ability. I’ve generally seen him described as raw and unrefined when defending. A high upside prospect, but one who will need a lot of development. In short, I don’t think he has the intensity and attention to detail, relative to other prospects, that I want for the Sabres. I reserve the right to change my mind after watching more though. I will add that I have not watched extensive video on him. I’m going mostly off of what I’ve seen written.

In what way? Seems very straightforward. Houser is the replacement for Johansson. -
Although Power is 6’5” 215, I think you’ll be disappointed if you are looking for a physical presence. He’s a little more Tyler Myers than Rasmus Ristolainen.

Time travel is the only explanation.

I F’ing knew it! They played with Covid again!

I mean, I know it’s been said before, but Brawndo is incredibly fast. That podcast dropped less than 2.5 hrs ago, and it’s 1.5 hrs long. Come on man, give us a chance. @Brawndo

What is this e5 business? -
A couple of guys with a mid day, weekday radio show are the lead voices???
-
That was not at all a long time to be out for a concussion. What was it, 10 days? Im actually slightly concerned about him coming back so soon.
-
Personally, I don’t care about that as much, but yes, it’s probably generally a good idea.
-
Oh, ok. I thought you literally meant someone who worked for Hockey Canada, the Canadian national hockey organization.
-
Mostly agree. I would feel more comfortable adding someone with GM experience, even if it’s just an advisor/consultant position. I don’t know about the hockey Canada stuff. Botterill is deeply involved in hockey Canada. Did that help? Yes, they need to fill out the scouting department a little bit. They went from largest staff to the smallest. I’m assuming that Adams and whoever else comes into management roles will add a few scouts.
