He is already 215 lbs! If he still has lots of filling out to do, he’s going to end up 240.
-
Yeah, Bryson, Johnson and Samuelsson are ?s, but still good prospects. It would just be stacking a lot of prospects at the same position. Not saying it’s the worst thing, but it’s not ideal.
-
If the Sabres are good, I won’t care that they are missing out on prospects x, y, or z. When I start looking at the prospects who might be available at their pick, I’ll care how good they are.
-
Didn’t mean it as such with the S word. What do you mean by there being different boards in each draft room. I’m not talking about each scouts’ and Adams personal board. I’m talking about the Sabres final board that they go to the draft floor with. That’s the only one that matters.
-
Basically how I feel as well. If they are both great, it will be ok though, even on different pairs. Find a partner who compliments each. Skate the 3rd pair low mins. Give both Dahlin/Power lots of special teams time. It does kind of limit flexibility though.
-
3 year rebuild might be a prerequisite to becoming Sabres GM. At least the forwards in the 2022/23 drafts look great. Even great D prospects usually take a few years to get good, especially big guys.
-
Early in the year I think most thought he had great physical tools but was a little raw in areas. I really do think Power has improved a lot throughout the season. I won’t be sad if Buffalo picks him, but it is a strange fit. Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Bryson, Johnson - all good/great LHD prospects. Maybe Dahlin could shift to the right side. I know he has done it outside the NHL.
-
If Eichel and Reinhart are traded, and Powers is the pick at #1, it might be a long rebuild. Read up on those great forward prospects in 2022 and 2023.
-
What? That makes no sense. If we are going to get stupid weird, then maybe Power will be #1 on their board but they’ll pick someone else. Now I’m doubting that they’ll pick Power even more! You talked me into it! I don’t know what scouts would say today, but I actually thought he was a little raw, especially defending in transition.
-
Yeah, impressive, just not as impressive as it would be in a normal year. Agree that it probably raised his prospect stock. As for who is #1 on Adams’ board, we certainly don’t know. Would not have guessed that Quinn was top of the board when pick 8 was on the clock last year.
-
I think he is listed at about 180 everywhere.
-
I mean, it’s still impressive but it’s not as impressive as if it was a normal year. That’s my only point. In a normal year, he wouldn’t have. I feel pretty sure. Canada generally has plenty of good NHL players to pick from.
-
Yes, it’s notable. He is good. It’s also notable that these rosters are extremely weak for a men’s world championship tournament. If he is the pick at #1 I’m cautiously ok with it. I seem to like him a little less than most, but I expect him to be a good player.
-
Very likely true, but we would need to know the thoughts of Pegs/KA/JK to say this with certainty. Completely possible that he is the pick, but I would urge caution if you think this tournament has truly PROVEN anything. It’s nice, but a lot of these players are just not good NHLers. See above. Brakes. Brakes, pump.
-
I don’t disagree, but it has to be said that this is a very abnormally weak year for the worlds. Many players who would normally go turned it down. I think it’s relevant to consider that.
-
Power is almost as vital to success as Troy Stecher! Take this kid #1!
-
No offense, but that’s a terrible idea. If Power is such a good defenseman that he is the best pick at #1, you shouldn’t need to ease him in at F. Playing forward was not part of a planned development path for Byfuglien or Burns.

Eichel to Meet with Sabres to Discuss Options regarding Neck Injury Next Week
Curt replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Weeks earlier? I think you are misremembering how the season went. Before the game on February 28th, Sabres had 14 pts in 16 games. Jack’s last game was March 7th. Before the hit he took on March 7, he didn’t have a neck injury. I don’t think the Sabres would have allowed him to play through a cervical disc herniation. -
Undersized? He is like 6’1” 180lbs
-
Reasonable questions. I don’t know if anyone has an answer. But really, I’m more concerned by your paragraph structure.

Eichel to Meet with Sabres to Discuss Options regarding Neck Injury Next Week

Being thicc is my superpower. -
Sorry, I wasn’t sure if you meant on the board or out in the public sphere. Though, we do have some members of high repute! Don’t sell us too short.
-
Wait, what’s this about Beniers being Adams’ guy? Did someone of repute actually say that?
-
I actually think it’s easier to find D in later rounds than C’s. Who upset you? Who is doing this? Is anyone actually using a single number to decide their stance on prospects’ future?
