I think you are reading too much into it. He didn’t go up there with the idea to accurately convey how player acquisition discussions are going. He went up there and tried to give away as little actual information as possible. In other words it’s all BS by design because why would he want to give away information about his negotiating position?

I know that I’m unreasonable, but I really want a trade to happen this week, just because of all the build up.

You are making a lot out of one nothing quote. All he is saying is that they are only willing to make a deal if they it is in the team’s best interest. Adams simply isn’t going to get up there and say “Yeah, we really feel that we need to trade Eichel in the next 36 hours because he doesn’t want to be here. We are going to take the best offer we get before then.”

This is of course always the case. He relays what people tell him mostly. So if someone from team X tells him that they are out on Eichel, he is going to relay that info. Probably along with the caveat that things are fluid and can change, which I’m sure he attached to earlier reports of teams being out. It’s the nature of what he does. Almost never does he come out and say things with real conviction, because he knows that he doesn’t usually get the full story.

I agree except for one important distinction. It’s not a tank unless they are intentionally bad. This team is shaping up to be bad because the players are young and haven’t reached their peaks yet. I would call it a rebuild, not a tank. Has Ottawa been tanking the past few years?

Kraken are not going to trade #2 overall. 1) High picks are almost never traded. 2) They are not going to trade away their first draft pick in franchise history.

Some little sliver of me hopes you do this big thing where you say you are going to go be a Kraken fan now, goodbye everyone and everything Sabres. Then after that the Sabres get good and the Kraken suck for a while. Can you at least wait until the offseason is over, then announce a date and time, set up a video call with Rakish, and hold a LeBron style decision show to announce if you are going to stick with the Sabres or take your talents to the Emerald City? When are they going to announce the side trades that accompany and prompted some of these picks. For the Vegas draft didn’t they do it at the actual expansion draft?

Lol. They are messing stuff up, and apparently being the largest sports media company in the world doesn’t mean that they can get all their microphones to work. I do like this format better than the in studio style thing with 6 people sitting around a desk and they each have exactly 24 seconds to talk so no one gets the time to make a real point about anything. That style of thing that the big networks seem to love is not unique to espn though.

Yeah, I love these 5 min segments breaking down the latest information regarding Sabres trade possibilities, and at the end they say “the situation is very fluid and changing all the time, can’t say anything with any certainty.” I don’t believe that these guys know what’s going on with Buffalo right now at all.

I know. It’s a snapshot in time. Things will change and the exact direction is hard to predict. I’m actually pretty willing to be patient. Just give me entertainment and hope.

I would love to see him give it another go. Literally almost everyone who was with the team his go round will be gone, so it will be like a fresh start. LD could be pretty crowded with young guys who need plying time though. Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Bryson. We’ll see.
