  1. I could be misremembering, but wasn’t it reported that they offered Linus very similar money to Boston, but they were only willing to go so far on term, and Boston offered more?
  2. And just to be clear, I’m not dismissing Portillo at all. I think there is at least a 1/3 chance that he is the best of UPL/Portillo/Levi. Also, I think that between those 3, there is a very good chance that Buffalo ends up with at least one pretty good starter in a few years. I just wanted to point out that he hasn’t even been an NCAA starter yet, so planning his unimpeded arrival as the Sabres’ #1 goalie is kinda premature.
  3. Clearly Anderson knows his own life much better than you. He and his family can make their own decisions.
  4. Sure maybe. Let’s see him try out being a starter in the NCAA first though.
  5. Answer to the question is, we don’t know yet. I doubt that UPL will be the primary, maybe even secondary, goalie. Adams made a decision not to invest heavily in goaltending, probably because he doesn’t think the team will be very good anyway.
  6. Suspicious how? Suspicious that his process is what? Suspicious how? Suspicious that his process is what?
  7. Agree. I would not be at all surprised if all of Anderson, Dell, Tokarski, and UPL get 5+ NHL starts. However, based on what he has shown so far, UPL needs to play games in the AHL.
  8. There are a lot more betting options than just win or lose. For example, you can place a bet on whether Evander Kane will score a goal. 😱
  9. Whatever, forget Raty. My whole point is that it makes no sense to start definitively saying who will be going 1-2-3 or whatever in the 2022 draft when they have a whole season to play AND a lot of guys barely played last season. You are not leaving enough room for the unknown.
  10. So, Calgary is one of the serious contenders for Eichel. The only hold up is that Buffalo isn’t interested in the main piece that Calgary is offering. Doesnt sound like it’s anywhere close. Whats the rumor? Sabres and Flames not close to Eichel trade?
  11. Sorry. We were talking about Timothy “ZFG” Murray.
  12. How does John Eichel eat? No doubt he eats healthy, but I don’t recall seeing much anything about it.
  13. The Raty comment was one small example illustrating my overall point. But yes, you did express many times that Raty should be drafted extremely high.
  14. He acquired a lot more big physical players than fast ones. Everyone will say they want to play fast, because of course you do. But are they actually focusing on acquiring fast players?
  15. It’s a shadow.
  16. Looks like a watch or wristband dude.
  17. The level of certainty that you are projecting about these 15-17 year old players is way overboard. It’s bordering on absurd and making me doubt whether your opinion has and credibility at all. Especially considering that none of them really played a normal season last year and some barely played at all. These guys have 1-2 more seasons to play before they are drafted. A lot can change. Like this past season you were pounding the table for Raty for months saying he was going to be the best, and by draft time you were campaigning for other players. You just should cool it a bit.
  18. I don’t get it. Ive not heard stories like that about John Eichel.
  19. He was on Twitter previously, but deactivated it last week. Now he is back, I believe with a new handle.
  20. Nah. It’s important that they make the best deal they can for him and get some good assets back.
  21. You are right to an extent, but you could say this about any positive quality. It just depends on what positive qualities are emphasized the most. For example, Murray definitely did not focus on creating a fast team. I’m sure he though it was a good thing if players were fast, but it wasn’t one of the top things he emphasized.
  22. With Housley, they usually played very “open” with the D often joining in the attack. With Krueger it was quite the opposite. It seemed the D were not allowed to join a rush or skate the puck past the red line. It aligns in a sense, but the mission statement was more about mindset and off ice than on ice style of play.
  23. Not at all. In my mind.
  24. Honestly, I would argue that, at this point, most any fan who is going to be “alienated” and adjust their spending habits accordingly has already done so. That may not be 100% true, as everyone has a different breaking point, but I would think it’s mostly true.
  25. What’s your issue with the way Routsalainen plays? You think he plays only on the perimeter, soft, and doesn’t play defense? I’m just trying to clarify because your criticisms have been a bit vague and mixed up with his size and nationality.
