  1. Ha Good point. Hopefully the Sabres get destroyed in the corsi number tonight and give up a large amount of goals. Just want it all to be done. Really want to enjoy my weekend.
  2. Agreed. I've held respect for PA for a good period of time. Roughly since 07' or so. My original account, Thanes16, got messed up when I attempted to change e-mail addresses. Had 2,000+ posts. Not anything to brag about. Many on here have far more than that. But PA expresses his thoughts in a decent manner and I have no problem w/ him.
  3. Columbus hit the cross bar and missed a few high quality chances. If they keep it up, the goals will come. Right now I'm happy Buffalo is losing after one. Can't imagine what the corsi number is right now.
  4. Me too. This may be the one of top 10, if not 5, most watched Sabres games in the past 2 years. Let's go Columbus!
  5. May need to be to handle a typical Buffalo sports outcome....
  6. Movie was for winning. We want losing. Wouldn't mind a Bad News Bears ending. Players excited at the end of a game, but lose at the same time. Sabres being excited after losing isn't going to happen, but it's what I hope for.
  7. Buffalo is a hockey town. Wish I was back in Tonawanda. Loved the place. Loved the people. Loved the culture. Western New York is a great place to be. Go Columbus tonight! Let me add the beer is great at a incredible price. Try to buying Labatts in the south and you'll be spending a good bit.
  8. Thats's the point. They're not robots. Can't be programmed to lose. Sabres will play hard tonight. Just hope it's not enough to keep up w/ the Blue Jackets. I have the same hope you have. Get beat tonight and play for the fans tomorrow.
  9. If McEichel is on the Sabres, I'd prefer a different coach. If the Sabres blow it, keep him to keep players going full throttle.
  10. I don't win bets when putting down money, so maybe I'll jump on this one and pick the Sabres to get the W'. ha ha
  11. Problem is the natural competitive nature every player has when the puck drops. People playing sports, including ones in some middle aged beer league, will play hard and give their best effort. Many Sabres on the ice tonight know they may only have 2 games left in their career w/ Buffalo. Matt Ellis is the perfect example. Tonight, he'll be playing 110%. He'll be diving to block shots, playing as hard as he can to win pucks along the boards, create scoring chances, etc.... Columbus is by far the better team. They probably have the 'fire' to win one for the fans and finish the season insanely strong. In all honesty, I believe the Sabres will lose tonight. Blue Jackets have better size, more skilled players and a very good goalie. And if it comes down to Pittsburgh....
  12. Good one! But yeah, Columbus needs to finish the Sabres tonight.
  13. I'm not saying I'm not concerned about the Sabres blowing their shot at "McEichel", but the talk of it has heated up around the NHL since the trade deadline. Yet, Buffalo continues to find a way to maintain number 30. The Sabres gave up 52 shots to Carolina. W/ as well as Columbus has been playing they'll probably finish w/ 40+. Lindback will have difficulty matching the level of play he delivered against the Hurricanes. Buffalo may have difficulty reaching their season average of 24. The Blue Jackets are on fire. Columbus will score 4. It will be tough for the Sabres to match that. Honestly see a 4-2 final w/ the Blue Jackets taking the win. That's a real win....not a loss. But hey, let's hope Zona wins tonight it and ends the torture Sabres fans have had to endure the last 2 seasons.
  14. Bingo. Columbus has been red hot, their arena will be packed and they'll play hard for the fans. Plus, their season record can be deceiving. Columbus had a bad case of the injury bug this year and it ruined their chances of being a playoff team. Many felt the Blue Jackets roster was good enough to get in before the season started. The Bluejackets are far better than the Sabres, and I just don't see Lindback playing as well has he did against Carolina. Wish Makarov would get the start....
  15. Should've kept my thoughts to myself.....
  16. I'm putting the cart before the horse, but if they can gain at least 1 point tonight the Sabres will have to win both games to finish 29th.
  17. Yotes just need to win it. Would be great to enjoy the last two games w/ no concerns about "McEichel." Talk about a fat rebound....
  18. Pittsburgh has two things to be concerned about. One, making the playoffs. Ottawa has been playing well as of late. Sure, they're two points back, but games have to be played. Anything can happen. Two, if the Penguins enter Buffalo w/ a playoff spot locked up, they will be playing for playoff position. Pittsburgh and Boston are tied at 95. The team that finishes eighth will have to play the Rangers in the first round. Second seed is Montreal. I'm sure the Penguins will do what it takes to play the Canadians. Pittsburgh will go for the win against Buffalo.
  19. Murphy's Law, eh? Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. This board is fine. Has had to deal w/ a great deal of "suffering" since the Miller hit. The ship is being righted. Let's go w/ GoPre's Law. Anything that can go right, will go right.
  20. The Blue Jackets have been playing great as of late and their last home game is against the Sabres. It is fan appreciation night. Columbus will play hard.
  21. This is Thanes16. Had to create a new account after attempting to change the e-mail address in my profile. Had over 2,000 post. Any how, let's go Carolina. Agree w/ what many have been saying. Let the suffering end tonight.
