  1. For the most part I agree. I do think the Pegulas are well intentioned but I don't know how hands off or on they are. I suspect they've been hands on the past three years anyway. The franchise is in need of rebuild of management whether with Adams as GM or not. Most higher level qualified guys will want authority over what their responsibility is.
  2. Unfortunately I'm not sure our owners have not screwed this franchise up so that qualified and experienced people don't want to dead end their careers coming to work for them. Money is important but so is your future career after this gig. I'm thinking the Pegulas may not have the confidence of a lot of hockey people.
  3. Exactly how does this connect with hiring Rutherford or Karmanos?
  4. If we're going to just hijack this thread why not start another thread? This tank conversation is not on subject.
  5. What does the tank pros or cons have to do with the thread title???????
  6. Strangely, and I'm not sure why, I think KA may be better than his two immediate predecessors. Of course that may not be saying all that much. I do wish they pick a more experienced guy but Kim and Terry had still wanted to control things. Now, hopefully, they have let it sink in that this franchise is a complete shipwreck and bring in reinforcements.
  7. Yeah, and that's not going to be easy. We have a couple contracts that are not tradeable. We have a lot with no trade value. And a few that to trade would be starting all over and very possibly in worst shape if that's possible. Let's get to bottom line.........this is a s..t show.
  8. It stands where its always stood. A rumor. And from ? sources.. So, for me, I'll believe it when I see it.
  9. Hiring Rutherford and Karmanos would help but the longer we wait for that the more "rumor" in the thread title takes on more significance.
  10. Sure was. Let's do it again!
  11. Thorny, I'm a Mets fan. Yankees? Sorry grew up in Red Sox country. Sorrow!
  12. I got the text but don't get down they told me t was close.
  13. See your from Bay Area. I'm a northeast guy but my carrier (1961-65) was out of Alameda. Loved San Francisco.
  14. That's what I meant by sometimes. That is not the main comment I was making. I'm not convinced that just getting a good coach fixes this group. Maybe improves it but doesn't fix it. Again my comment was meant to question is it a talent issue, coaching issue or a chemistry (team)issue. I think the talent is better than the team and it's record.
  15. I'm coming more and more toward the idea that the main problem isn't just coaching or overall talent level but more not having good chemistry. TEAM as opposed to INDIVIDUAL TALENT. We ask why do they sometimes leave and play so much better somewhere else? Because maybe they piece in to a team. Coaches are important but they can't create chemistry of the team. For instance, Hall may be very talented but may not play well with say Eichel. Eichel is very talented but may not be a fit with Skinner ect. The GM and coach need to build a team not a collection of individuals with talent. Fans want to go out and get big names but do they fit team wise?
  16. Ok, I had to leave before the last period. Thought I left it in capable hands!! What did you guys do?
  17. Have to leave before next period. Hope they hold the lead but in any case they've at least look alive.
  18. Jeff is probably not tradeable with his contract. Linus,Jack, Dylan, Risto,Dalin, and Rhino.Everyone else I would consider in trades.
  19. So often this seems to be the case with coaching changes.
  20. I'm in between on coaching or player chemistry as the problem. We have talent that don't seem to mesh as a team. Question is is it only a matter of coaching? Combination?
  21. I would hope a good GM does not trade a player away because we fans don't like the player. Think you overstated that by saying fans equally to blame. I understand the sentiment that we the fans can get on certain players but that's every fan base there is.
  22. Exactly!! The EMPLOYEES he's hired. Everyone makes mistakes but ten years running? You'd think you couldn't make that many hiring mistakes. This problem is management. Again, I agree on most of your opinion about the Pegulas except in the operation of the hockey franchise. They better hire some capable people to handle it because it's a mess and hockey executives even acknowledge that.
