I didn’t expect Adams to do anything and I honestly don’t expect him to make any big moves at the draft or off season.  They’re all going to be littlw fish they feel they can develop into something. The Stillman move is a perfect example. A mediocre somewhat physical defenseman they think they can make better in their system.

Don't expect big moves either. I do expect moves to upgrade our defense/goaltending. Could see players like VO or Girgenson being moved if one considers that a big move.

Wait and see. Where have we heard that before?

Okay, I may be in the minority on here but I've felt that our odds of making the playoffs even in recent weeks to be maybe 30-35%. So I personally wouldn't be buying now. So, yes I'm for waiting at this particular time until off season.

Fans are aware of the plan, but judging by the comments in favor of making any type of move to address the team's apparent shortcomings, most don't completely agree with the plan.

Yes, but if you don't think trade deadline is the time to address shortcomings then you may not be opposed to what KA is doing. Guess I'm in that boat. Let's see what happens draft time and off season.

Idk what to tell you, man. The tippy top of the reputables - Friedman, Lebrun (sp?) - were reporting that the Sabres were in on the player (and, towards the end of the process, it was essentially just the Sabres and Senators who were in a position to do the trade), but that the asking price was the Sabres' sticking point. If you take the view that those distinguished information-brokers (not to pump their tires too much) just put out BS content to drive clicks, then we can't really have a conversation on this subject.

Only problem is that agents do put stuff out that's bs.

  5. Could we have matched that?  Sure. The thing that concerns me about free agents and players on the trade block is that it seems to me the longer it goes and the more a player is talked about often time he becomes more valuable in peoples eyes. So, now it looks like a good deal because of what we were told the price was to begin with.  Truth is we are not on the inside on these things.

If you acquire Chychrun and pair the players Samuelsson-Dahlin, Power-Jokiharu, and Chychrun-Lyubushkin, you can roll a top-pairing defender on every pair.  That would be quite difficult for any team to handle.

Yes, except we still have inadequate goaltending and forwards who don't defend or a structure that is not working. Unless the asking price is way lower than we're hearing.

From what people are saying about Sabres Twitter, that is worse.  All 3 2022 1sts and 2023 1st for Chychrun.  "Adams has to play the inflated prices for a rental now because he was cheap over the summer and didn't sign a few high-end UFAs.  Either that or he and his staff should be fired."  That is a direct quote.  "Buffalo is the new Arizona except Arizona's new owner is willing to spend."  Another direct quote.

Has anyone noticed that we have only seen quantity-for-quality trades so far?  Sabres fans will overpay in quantity and quality just to make a deal.

Twitter😂 Don't care really. I agree that Adams should have upgraded goaltending but high priced free agents? Not good way to go in my opinion.

    Chemistry quiz.

KA has been talking a lot about character and wanting to be here. I know it is important but should it outweigh making moves?

I hate the Leafs but am interested on how the playoffs go for them. They kept the core but brought in 6 new faces to date. More than 1/4 of the team is changed at the deadline.

Is the culture of the core more important than the culture of the whole team?

    Does talent trump all?

I still believe goaltending will be their downfall, but this much turnover could cause problems too.

Goaltending AND overall defense. I feel even upgrading the goaltending is not the whole answer unfortunately.
