  1. I said "Winnipeg's Own Cody Eakin" out loud like 50 times in the arena that night
  2. Def. But I'd prefer that arrogance and it's 51 point pace coming from the 2-hole. Or, ideally, the 3-hole on a team with contention aspirations. But that's getting pretty long term. Could a team with Tage in the 2 hole make the playoffs? I'd say it's possible.
  3. I was there, Darth. I was there - 3000 years ago. I was there, when the strength of the buffalo-men failed. For a long time, we were scattered, divided, leaderless. But it is in the new buffalo-men that we must place our hope.
  4. It’s a funny gif but most people aren’t born with that level of rhythmic coordination
  5. Buffaloed. Seriously though, his time in Winnipeg was done Nice of the organization to let him “resign”
  6. Totally. When we are hoping for playoffs/substantial improvement next season, it’ll be tough to have those expectations heading in if the guy we had as the 1C by necessity coming into this season is still a big ol’ question mark. I like Tage (and love the look of his dev curve right now) but I’d have a hard time hoping/predicting playoffs if he comes in as “the guy” at C.
  7. And nicely brings up their record to 1 point above any other mark since we started tanking (81 points, 15-16)
  8. I was. Currently perusing the Andy Warhol museum in anticipation of the next game. Opposing fans are starting to hear tell of my unwanted presence in their cities
  9. Agree it looks like the approach. Just pointing out that the F ranks are only “full” and in no need of outside upgrade, when viewed through the prism of it being necessary to adhere to Adams’ plan. The ranks aren’t literally filled with NHL appropriate talent, unless the goal is to pace for the 60 something points we are (plus any development from the younger players, + infusion of rookies for JAGS). That may indeed prove to be the correct strategy, and everyone’s mileage will vary on how much improvement one thinks the rookie insertion will yield, of course. Just saying, the unit hasn’t yet proven itself close to being in a spot where there’s “no room” for additions. Or proven that to be any kind of sure prediction. When comparing against other teams, there is plenty of space for improvement - do agree the org sees it coming almost entirely from within. At least one exception I hope is made, is at G
  10. Mess with the johan at your own peril - - - Mule, it is, for Mattias
  11. Hagg is 1 down, Fascist must be the one coming, across
  12. This. We were saying *last* season on here we had finally reached a talent tipping point. We aren't close to an "abundance" level of talent. Things are looking promising! One step at a time.
  13. I'm on the hopium today too man but there's way too much "briere drury roy" in this, particularly Briere. Why make the comparison at all with Mitts when Briere was an over-point-a-game guy and Mitts has 1 point this season. That's not government work close. Thompson/Mittelstadt could be a reasonable top 6 C unit in the interim if the expectations aren't high again but to think that sort of combination represents a F unit that has *no room* for changes is a bit off, imo. We don't have a 1C, maybe not even a 2C in that group At least if the goal is playoffs
  14. That's still a ridiculously unproven top 6 centre spine. Would be a roller coaster to see if we get the improvement next season we want with that group. What are the expectations? The top 6 centres listed there right now represent a total of 19 points scored this season so far Mittelstadt injury bums me out - would be tough to see that as a roster that could fight for the playoffs unless Casey comes back strong this year and really shows something in a substantial sample size
  15. Gonna have to see some NHL production for Levi before I'm close to being good with that deal - at least within the context of letting it get to the point where we had to move Reinhart at all. With Reinhart being a player 1 year from UFA, Levi has already done his part in making the deal look palatable, but I'm a long way from saying I'm good with a Reinhart/Levi swap (along with that first), which is what it still amounts to in the end as keeping Reinhart wasn't a no bueno option. Me too, I pointed this out right when we got him but GA got mad at me lol You are thinking of Darren.
  16. League would pick Dahlin I'd guess and I think that'd be the right call, as much as I like KO
  17. I agree in general but @jad1makes a good point that losing 17 of 20 was most certainly *not* in the plan - not to say they'd be "shocked" in doing so - I do believe Adams is safe this offseason. But winning more than 3 in 20 would be preferable, even for Adams I'd assume, and that's why games like yesterday are so fun and promising - the outlook does look better the more they win. So no, Adams isn't on the hot seat right now, not close, things are going according to plan in the macro, but I agree with those pointing to the 2023 offseason as the earliest point a change *could* happen at GM - if we lose even more than was intended this season and substantial improvement isn't shown next year, I think that could change the equation/test the Pegulas' patience.
  18. Don't agree Adams will be fired, but this is a good point
  19. UPL looks great but more than any other position, teams will develop a "book" on goalies quite quickly - the big test for UPL will be maintaining his GOOD PLAY through the next several weeks
