  1. Frankly if I didn’t get one here from you I’d be perturbed - there’s no logic in your stance: because it’s not inherently balanced. You can’t argue the players should be paid not on their worth, but what’s “fair” for both sides, when we already have players like Thompson offsetting that balance. It can’t be, “fair deals only, according to me...unless it’s a break for the team then well done KA”. It’s absurd
  2. Players are not greedy for asking for their true worth. This is so bogus: is the team paying Thompson what he’s worth? I’m sure they are happy with him being way underpaid and won’t be looking to back pay him on his next deal just because. The team operates as a business. They paid Tage early because they wanted to pay him as little as possible. And we expect the *employees* to willingly take a cut to protect the business? This isn’t just incorrect I’d argue it’s wrong and a poor precedent to set for what we deem a “team first” player is
  3. Cozens has 33% more points this season, and plays centre with a better 2 way game. And signing a contract slightly later. Boldy would be the absolute floor
  4. Could be He’s ALSO have a near 100 point year, another player with a career anomaly something in the water
  5. I agree we shouldn’t pay Horvat, but disagree with this idea creeping up that we should start paying based on static, sometimes non-descriptive line designations rather than production. Cozens is a 1C and will be paid like a 1C, and he’ll be playing 2C.* Doesn’t make it undesirable or overpaid for his position. Paying guys the going rate of a position above is often what happens when you start to get many good players, bumping guys into roles in the lineup they’ll have more success. *funnily enough, our 1C is being paid like a 2C. A massive benefit. So not only will we be getting double the 1C production you want, it’ll be without the corresponding pay. But even if Thompson had a deal more reflective of his output, we’d be about to pay Cozens just like we are now
  6. *Zach Hyman* is on pace for nearly 100 points. Scoring is off the chain this season. I know he plays with McD but, he did last year too. He’s already reached his output from last season
  7. Dahlin is now 9 assists behind....Connor McDavid 6th in league assists, overall. d-man
  8. Did anyone post this in a thread somewhere? Kinda cool * if you click the tweet and go to twitter instead of clicking the play button below which takes you to the full Pod, on Twitter it plays a short clip of Ferraro and Adams talking Dahlin I’ve been impressed by the consistency as well. Night in, night out he’s delivering.
  9. Karlsson has a sizeable edge on Dahlin and Morrissey in d-men points, and those 2 are opening up a gap on player 4. I wonder if those 3 end up snagging the Norris nominations
  10. The other thing about VO is his assist total is unusually low. Up until this season he generally actually has *not* been a one trick pony. So while it’s great to see he’s having a swell goal scoring year, I expect the assists to bounce back at some point as well
  11. Vegas with a pretty sizeable response game thus far. Helps the Sabres
  12. Cozens is so good I’m so happy we are in a situation where we are going to have to pay him a ton of money.
  13. The Canucks sweaters are awesome. Boudreau continues to cook behind the bench
  14. A Winnipeg connection too in a way, along with Savoie. Speaking of which, I’ll be at the Sabres Jets game this week - - - Win the next one and we are pacing for 90+ again
  15. People really have no idea what’s coming because of the Tage colossal steal lol. Going to say this again for the people in the back: this isn’t advanced analytics where the Tage contract makes all the other contracts around him better. The way the league works isn’t “find a huge underpay and hold everyone’s toes to the fire by that number.” The benefit of Tage’s deal can be found in Tage’s deal itself: we *can* afford to give Cozens and Dahlin and others what they will command and Tage being on a team friendly deal aids greatly: but it’s *not an exponential benefit*. It does not transform every other deal on the team
  16. Krebs ceiling is a wee bit lower than top 100 player of all time Toews, me thinks Agree on VO, happy to say I remained one of his only backers when everyone was screaming trade
  17. Maybe he’s just not comfortable finding the holes yet in getting it all the way to the net. Dahlin used to be like that, if you remember. Then his shot got good. Sometimes with great young players all they need is a focus on what they need to improve - we know he has the ability to translate his hockey sense into a high level of aptitude, that process probably holds true once he’s coached up on the areas he hasn’t had to work on as much pre NHL They don’t?
  18. Mahomes is simply unreal
  19. Didn’t get to catch the game, how did Dahlin look? Excellent? Happy to see Power stabilizing on the left, too - getting to stay on the left w/Jokiharju manning the right seems to help him
  20. Have you seen how much in depth hockey talk there was during the WJC, every game about the performance of our prospects and what it might mean? As long as people put a lot of stock in that tournament, Casey’s electrifying performance therein (Wearing a bills jersey, no less) will have people thinking he can amount to even more. But I agree with your general point
  21. I don’t think twitter says he’s any good either tbf
  22. I got lost somewhere along the way apparently 😆
  23. Wow, a Hallmark congrats if I’ve ever heard one
  24. Source?! This would be objectively hilarious and look awfully poorly on Terry Probably would be one of the most damning things I’ve ever heard about him or any owner re: aptitude running a team
