  1. Because we’ve had inept GMs. Or an owner hiring inept GMs. Take your pick Sorry, is Occam’s Razor here that we are mystically cursed? Hockey gods? Monkey paw? Winning teams just can’t be built in Buffalo? Come on now
  2. Dude just measure him against the other GMs in the league. It’s a relative comp. We have achieved less on average than other teams. It’s his job - they get evaluated by results. It’s very straightforward
  3. All around stink show. No need to attempt to siphon blame onto one aspect
  4. They parroted that the expectation internally was playoffs this year, and more importantly it’s the common sense expectation for a regime in year 4: icing such a young team in that season remains a willing choice and certainly doesn’t serve as a manual cheat-code reset of expectations
  5. We seem to struggle to win any in a row and don’t lose in regulation a bunch in a row either. A .500 team isn’t the worst thing, the seeming security in that is progress somewhat: but only progress relative to the worst we’ve seen the last decade or so. Not so much after a 91 points last year. Hasn’t been enough holds on career year outputs from last season nor replacement of that output through internal dev. It’ll be interesting to see how they look to transition from .500 club to playoff club
  6. Ya, the youth thing is definitely an excuse. It’s not a bug in year 4 of the tenure, it’s a feature
  7. The talent we do have shows itself a fair bit but the lack of depth and cohesiveness of the roster as a whole is resulting in a tire-spinning start how long the wheels keep spinning is anyone’s guess
  8. Kinda what I was getting at maybe. These guys just started but I’m sure there’s a point where you can have too much youth
  9. Yes, his numbers have been poor great talent, will probably be very good, his results haven’t been I know you were being sarcastic but it’s not a flex. The goalies aside from UPL have been poor. The nhl standard isn’t “don’t be absolutely horrific” no matter how much one wants it to be goalies need to be actively good
  10. What about at the quarter and a tiny bit pole
  11. I’m almost afraid to say it…Comrie may not have had a horrid period but giving up 4 goals isn’t a good one. People wonder why “slightly below average goaltending” isn’t enough to get it done.. UPL has been the only actual good goalie
  12. Gonna have to “battle back” (worked last game)
  13. love the fans love the crest would prefer a win just do your best
  14. Laura San Giacomo Brawndo now scooping entertainment news
  15. Adams gives the fanbase what they want to see
  16. One thing I’ve been pleased about is, anecdotally, the fanbase holding pretty firm on “playoffs being the expectation” this year. Much more frustration at the slow start under the prism of this context than any sort of excuse making (which you see, but not nearly as prevalent). I like that. It’s nice to see the general awareness that year 4 should be about achieving something tangible. Tuch cited the boos yesterday as spurring them on, right? A little reminder wasn’t misplaced. It’s good stuff. And if we make the playoffs, Adams will certainly have done an acceptable job. 4 seasons is enough time to expect a playoff birth, but he’d still go down as the only GM of the last 3 to actually do it.
  17. At hockey games? I agree
