Just follow with the above, Vanek put up 68 points in 74 games in his D2 season in Rochester. Quinn has 45 in 31.
Drury put up 44 points in his rookie NHL season in the year he began as a 23-year-old. Cozens is going to finish with 40ish points in the year he began as a 20-year-old.
If Quinn and Cozens trajectories continue and they are slightly better players than Vanek/Drury my hope is we won't need to find a Hasek level goalie.

You guys think that hockey players go to class?
Aww, that’s so cute.
I would hope so since 99% of them will rely on something other than hockey to make a living.

Thanks #TeamSS. Just got off phone with box office and I am now thrilled to say I will be taking my son to his first very first Sabres Game! - historic in itself, but epic-ly historic because of RJ banner night. Was able to snag a rare 2 seats left in the middle of the lower bowl! #Grateful
Anyone wanna meetup or come by to say hi - our tix are Sec 106, Row 15, seats 11 &12
#RJForeverintheheartsofSabresFansI'm in section 104. I'll be there for *happy hour* having a beer around 5.30 at the bar closest to that section.

Need 24 points over the next 15 games to reach 82 and a .500 point%. That's an .800 pace.
Our preseason over/under on points was 68. I definitely think we beat that.
68 points was lofty expectations in September.

I miss understood completely. I thought there was going to be a nice tribute and Rick was calling the game, possible with friends stopping in for cameos all televised.
I bought a ticket.

We just dropped another spot in the draft with a win over Chicago. Anyone care?
Feels good, real good.

I feel bad for Butcher. He's been given so many opportunities to shine and elevate his game with the rest of this young team and he's been snake bit.

Last game in the world I would go to.
I will be home listening to this one. To hear RJ call it, savior it, enjoy it.

The Sabres haven't won in Chicago in 12 years(?). Back to back on the road. 3 games 4 nights. Never gave them a chance.
I was entertained.

I don't remember Eakins name being called in the third till the final face off with 10 seconds to play.
The Chicago play by play crew was horrible.

Wasn't he for all intents and purposes, not the greatest person? I ask seriously because I just recall a lot of negativity surrounding him in the years past.
Not sure about the *not nice person* part, but he wanted to make money owning a hockey team and didn't really care about the standings is what I remember.

This topic came up on the Maintenance Day Podcast, Lance Lysowski brought up three possibilities.
1. Connor Murphy Chicago 4 years 4.4 Million AAV
2. The Forementioned Matt Dumba
3. Shea Theodore 3 year 5.2 Million. Would probably take giving VGK Their 1st back as a start. They mentioned He is very good friends with Tuch
Vegas is in cap purgatory. May take a lot less than a first but we will need to take on some bad contracts with it.

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/sabres-dustin-tokarski-guarding-cage-monday
per the article ...
*Tokarski is 1-1-1 so far in March with a terrific .957 save percentage in the process. The 32-year-old is now 6-9-5 with a 3.07 GAA and a .907 save percentage through 22 games this season. Despite a 2-5-2 road record to date, Tokarski is sporting a solid .919 save percentage in nine games away from home.*
He gives his team a chance.

It's been discussed several times about college prospects. If the team wants you sign now.
Thank you @dudacek for a great summary.

Why do Miller’s fancy stats look so much better then the eye test?
Why does Butcher's look so much better?

Honestly how is this a dumb decision ? He gets to pick his own team and gets paid
You are assuming every team will want him and he can have his choice. Then there is the money lost in waiting 2 years that he can never recover.
edit.
Remember, the knock on him is he would be a small short goalie for the NHL. He needs to prove he can cut it.

Aaron Huglen is going to make a big time climb up the Sabres prospect rankings, isn’t he?
Botterill took a low risk high reward taking him in the 4th round with a back injury. They still list him as 6'0" and 168 lbs but he appears heavier than that. Had a nice game Sunday.

Everyone is aware that it is 2 1/2 years before Levi can do a Cal Petersen, right?
August 15th 2024. 45 days into free agency in the summer of 2024 he can declare himself a UFA. He has a better chance of seeing league minimum offers than anything a 2nd year pro would get.
Dumbest route he could possible take if he wants to make hockey a career.

The refs and linesmen back then where no push overs either. Them boys never hesitated to jump in.

...other than a title. Like someone said: Once you leave the NCAA that door is closed forever. If that's been his goal for the last couple years and he thinks it's a real possibility, I could see him staying in college.
There's a mom/dad in the back ground going *stay one more year, keep working for that diploma you'll need it after hockey...*

A Toni Lydman would be perfect. That was one of DR's best acquisitions.
During Regier’s tenure, the Sabres have posted a record of 483-361-140.
We always wanted better, never knew how bad it could get once he was gone.

Any player KA gets will be a player with *moral fiber*. Team first, good in the locker room. He still can't afford a guy to come in that's a great player but able to wreck the fragile mojo of this young team.

Can we win a Cup without a Superstar forward?

I would like a slighter better top 6/4 and hope to get a very good goalie, which to me is a very doable situation. Finding another Hasek is going to be amazingly tough.
