It certainly would be useful to see how UPL plays in Buffalo as the season winds down. But I wouldn't consider it a necessity. Getting heavy duty playing time in Rochester, and hopefully a playoff run in the AHL would also be a beneficial experience for him. I still feel strongly that another experienced goalie should be added to the mix this offseason to hedge the risk of prematurely designating UPL as a NHL goalie to rely on. And considering the high rate of injury for goalies the organization needs to add another experienced goalie to the mix.

They need a second Anderson to play with UPL. I just think we hit the jackpot with Anderson that at his age he still has some really good game left and is perfect in the locker room. I think they can find one if there are salary cap dumps, but no way KA gives up a major asset to get one.

This. If Anderson wants a shot at a cup, find a way to make that happen. Almost don't care what the return is, you set the guy up. Maybe have him back next year if he's up for it.

I think KA would do it in a heart beat if it wasn't for Anderson being a big reason why they are winning as of late. I know that momentum doesn't carry over to the next season but the younger players are getting confidence and that does carry over.

I'm sure the players would think highly of KA if he did it, but they also want to win.

Too soon to say on Power… He needs to integrate with our core “team-first” core… Last thing the Sabres need is a multi-year jerk like the guy we just rid ourselves of…

Very true, but it's going to take at least 3 years to figure that out. Etched in stone for 3 years. Three years in hockey is a long time.

Don't get me wrong, I like Anderson, but why?  UPL and Levi will be playing in Buffalo in the fall.  And Portillo will be right behind them.

UPL gets his year with Anderson that he should have had.

    Edit.

I don't believe KA wants to trade him at all. I think he wants him here for Levi's game or two this year also. Anderson is supposed to have said he would take it as a huge favor if KA made a deal with the Panthers. He believes they have a legit shot at the cup.

Jack might have had an exceptionally bad night when Rivet's group showed up. But Craig's point was as a pro you have to suck it up.

They where excited kids. They had no clue or care about the game results and where so exited to meet their favorite player. If they where a bunch of drunk Chet and Muffy types you could understand the annoyance after the loss.

I also will add another thought.  If these leader veterans are really jiving with the young guys and the whole group is tight, it’s probably because these young guys have their heads on right in the first place and maybe they will be ok regardless?  Not sure.

Sam had his head in the right place. But Kane didn't. That was a mess.

Surround the youngest with good people. Deviate and bad things happen.

I really worry about stuff like this because it's not like the analytics are fuzzy here, it's like eakin, it doesn't work. So is it not integrated into Granatos lines or what?

It has to be a case of looking at all six guys and what to do with them. There are just to many of the same thing (fast puck movers) to make three nice pairs. Muel may make a great partner but then we lose our stud for our second pairing.
