Its a high risk low reward way to play defense IMO when you asked the goalie to kick out rebounds. The one that deflected right to Perry should have had a Sabre's forward there also. It would have given Lehner time to react if a forward could have held up Perry for a half second. Still very frustrating that we can't get a game plan that can play with, or beat, puck possession teams no matter the opposition's skill level.

Lehner was the only reason they where in that game through the first two periods. Not that he played bad in the third, but I have to cut him some slack because he had to be tired, and I still thought he played above average.

To me it's more the perfect storm of Bills stupidity that he is here. More booing by fans may help, but season ticket holders are the only ones the Sabre's brass comes in contact with that have a chance to sway a coaching change.

*2)* is the players just seem to play *their* hockey. I wish there was a way to track, but they brought the puck out of the zone in the third period as a unit. Short possession passes and skate to open ice. Yes, SJ was backing off and playing prevent defense. But, we entered the O zone with speed and the puck regularly. That never happens with the stretch pass/DnC system. I know they are learning structure and a system, but when the stage coach driver drops the reigns, them horses know how to run.
