  1. I love the Islays, too, especially Lagavulin 16. How did you like the Laphroaig 10? That’s my other go-to Islay. I once read a review of it that compared its bouquet to phenol, tar and hospital tape, and it was a positive review! Needless to say, Islays are not for everyone! Have you tried Caol Ila? They have a pretty good variety and aren’t too pricey. They are Islays, and are generally smooth with a lighter, subtler peat profile.
  2. Thanks for pointing that out. I missed that one. Very interesting though. The 5 on 5 stats seem to support those who say Bennett is a hard worker. Can we assume the difference between 'total points for 60' and '5 on 5 points for 60' should be predominantly PP production? If so, Draisaitl (1.1) and Reinhart (0.9) were better than Ehlers and Bennett (0.6 each).
  3. The grain of salt to take with this stat is that guys who play a lot of PK time are at a slight disadvantage.
  4. Obviously the US involvement in Iraq has profoundly shaped Iraq’s current social and political landscape. However, the recent developments there are not so much a result of what the US did or didn’t do. As stated many times above, Iraq is a sovereign country after all. Obama has been telling al-Maliki from day 1 that he cannot use the power of his office to persecute the Sunnis. This is exactly what al-Maliki has done, including illegally jailing the top Sunni politician. Under these circumstances, unrest between Sunnis and Shia is nothing short of inevitable. al-Maliki has created a perfect storm for insurgents to cause major unrest, and now it is happening. Right now Iraq needs a leader who can help bring Sunnis and Shia together, and al-Maliki has repeatedly proven he is not that leader.
  5. The 75 finals certainly comes to mind. Almost 40 years later and I still hate the Flyers more than any other team. No Goal is still something I haven’t really been able to accept, even now. But the 2006 Hurricanes series is the low point for me. We –bleeping- had them, and Carolina was barely able to handle #8 Edmonton (with a 3rd string goalie) in the finals. We had 4 AHL defensemen for game 7. That Hurricanes team was very possibly the most undeserving “champ” in NHL history. Let’s face it, the way things played out after July 1, 2007, it wasn’t a bad thing for the Sabres losing Briere and Drury, because those two were offered way more $ than they were worth, and they both went downhill quickly afterwards. Hindsight is 20/20 but, my only regret about the 2007 off-season was not letting Vanek go to Edmonton for all that compensation (of course I didn’t feel that way back then!). I like where the Sabres are right now. I don’t mind sucking for a while in order to have a legit chance of getting where we all want the Sabres to be. Sacrificing mediocrity is a small price to pay for that chance.
  6. I'll take Toews over Kane all day long and twice on Sundays. Here's a tiny glimpse into why. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCMaOKr7bPs[/url]
