  1. Goals against in the last minute of a period are also a trend with this team.
  2. He would have been a good fit on the Sabres.
  3. Sure, and when you're poor on the man advantage, the other team will score on the EN at higher rate than the league average.
  4. But you admit there is a trend of the Sabres giving up EN goals? Right?
  5. Because EN goals against happen so frequently to the Sabres. Most likely due to their problems with the man advantage pointed out in this thread: over-handling the puck, lack of offensive possession, inability to hit the net, moving the puck slowly, etc.
  6. Housley has now coached 157 games. 147 of those games have been mostly terrible.
  7. They should fire Housley right before the fan appreciation game, and then have a STH lottery and let the winner coach the team for the game. Can't be worse than this nonsense.
  8. It's been happening the whole season. This team has no idea how to play positional defense.
  9. Throw Risto into that equation. He just stood there in front of the net l.
  10. Yeah, maybe Thanksgiving is too soon, but once the team started spiraling, Girgs is a candidate to sit because you basically know what he brings. He's going to be what you describe him as, and if Botterill wants that type of player he can confidently pencil him in next season. With the prospects, I would think that Botterrill would want to see them on the big club to judge their progress. The Sabres desperately need middle six forwards and it would be good to know if these guys might be able to fill those lines next season, or if they are better used as assets to acquire legit middle six players.
  11. It was. The guy has talent. I would have liked to see more of him in Buffalo this season.
  12. Nylander, Olofsson, O'Regan, Smith, Pilut. Any three of those forwards could have stepped in Sobotka, Thompson or Girgensons any time after Thanksgiving. Pilut is among the top six Dmen in the organization.
  13. As bad as Murray/Blysma were, Botterill/Housely are much worse.
  14. No, most expected him not to take the massive step backwards he did when he traded two top six forwards for nothing. And shelving the top prospects in Rochester while keeping prospects on the big club who have proven they are not ready is also a step back. Botterrill has done nothing in his two seasons here to indicate that he will be a top GM.
  15. Nah, the criticism is fair. He would have to have the most astounding offseason in franchise history to turn this team into a 90 point club in his 3rd season with the team.
  16. Nice to see the newest guy on the team toting the company line.
  17. Eichel has not been strong in that area of the ice the whole season. But he's planted there every freakin' power play and every extra attacker situation. A coach with half a brain might try moving him somewhere else.
  18. Can we just skip the rest of the season and move to the firings?
  19. With the Mittelstadt line playing well, and the team down a goal, Housley should move Reinhart back onto the top line for the rest of the game.
  20. He should have been called up around Xmas and Thompson should have been sent down.
  21. Just watching this trash and remembering that Bylsma finished his seasons with the Sabres with 81 and 78 points. And we thought that was bad.
  22. Neither splitting them up nor keeping them together works. The team is too talent-poor.
  23. 9 more games and hopefully I'll never have to watch Sobotka try to play hockey again.
  24. It's nice to see so many players with absolutely no skill to score goals be able to extend their NHL careers with the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo, the half-way house between the NHL and beer leagues.
