  1. The Sabres Googled yearly revenue is 124M. They'd be on the hook for Granato's extension for 2M a year. In other words, it'll cost them less than 2% of their yearly revenue to fire Granato. The Sabres Googled value is 900m. Pegula bought the team for 189M. He has a 711M profit in the team. Granato's 4M extension is .006% of that profit. The Bills new stadium is the most expensive construction project in WNY history. It's googled cost is 1.35B. Pegula can fund the construction of FIVE stadiums at that price, at the same time out of his own pocket, and STILL have $500M left in his bank account. The Bills salary cap is 240M. If the Bills don't make another dime ever again, Pegula can fund the team out his own pocket for the next 28 years. There is no way in hell Pegula is thinking that the best way to improve the Sabres is to fire the coach, but I'm not going to do that because I need to save money.
  2. Sure you do. If you're starting a business, you can use your personal worth to back a loan. If you want to expand your business, you can do the same. The Sabres are a privately owned business. If the owner wants to fire the coach to improve the team, he'd be more than willing to spend the equivalent of 18 bucks from his own pocket if the team can't cover the cost (which, by the way, it easily can). Money is no part of Pegula's decision to fire the coach.
  3. Pegula's Googled net worth is 6.8 billion. Granato's extension is 4 million over the next two years. Granato's salary is roughly .0006% of Pegula's net worth. Putting that into context, for a person who makes 30 grand, .0006% of that salary is rounded up to 18 bucks. Pegula can afford to fire Granato.
  4. The traded player would win the Stanley Cup the next year and would probably be a finalist for the Conn Smythe trophy. So I would probably be happy for that guy.
  5. It's like we're in an alternative universe of suckitude.
  6. You didn't watch them last year? Seriously, the Sabres have not play structurely good defense since Ruff was here.
  7. Can he fire himself? I don't think he possesses the tools to fix this.
  8. Remember in the off season when Mike Peca left the team to join the Rangers coaching staff, and Granato was like, that's okay, we good, we got Matt Ellis?
  9. Thompson injured playing on the PK in a game they are losing 6-1. That's great coaching right there.
  10. We've been pounding the table for the team to sign a legit top 2 veteren to play with Dahlin since he was a rookie. To his credit, Dahlin managed to develop without one, but the team could still use a guy like that on the team. And Power can use the same. He's swimming right now and can use a veteren mentor who can keep up with him. Unfortunately, the bargain basement clowns hired to GM this franchise don't agree with us.
  11. This team is full of skilled perimeter-passing wall flowers. Never seen a group of guys more willing to pass the puck out of the slot.
  12. Why would Gallant work with Adams? Gallant is going to want to age up the lineup, something Adams won't do.
  13. Adams has built a young team that exerts no effort. What a total s###show.
  14. Right now he's nothing more than a big dope who doesn't hit anybody.
  15. Rob Ray's advice is to just hang with the worst team in the conference to get to the third period. The minimal effort approach. Fits this group well.
  16. OC Brady took advantage of Dallas' smaller defensive front seven. The Bills have proven that their offensive line can play a physical game. I don't think Miami can play that type of physical game. Dallas has a better match up against Miami on both sides of the ball than it had against Buffalo.
  17. At this point, what experienced coach would want to work under Adams? The three-headed goalie mess, the 11-7 game day rosters, the underwhelming and infrequent trades and signings. An experienced coach would see Adams as an unserious GM, and wouldn't want to jeopardize his career working for him.
  18. If Biron and Ray (and every poster here) can see this team is a bunch of wall flowers, how can the coaching staff not spend every minute of offensive possession time screaming "GET OF THE EFFING WALL!!!!" at the top of their lungs?
  19. A young team that plays with zero energy. That's the Sabres. Showing how much they want to be here.
  20. Could have retired and ended up with an announcing job in Denver instead of playing in Granato's free-for-all defensive system.
  21. E. Johnson has the look of a man who knows he made a mistake.
