I’ve seen Berube’s name tossed around a lot on this board, but I don’t know much outside of he won the cup with the Blues the year they started like ***** with Yeo. What’s he like?

I never want to hear another word about any member of this organization being a “good guy,” or that being used to carry any weight about ANYTHING. As long as they aren’t murderers or abusers, who gives a *****. It’s about winning hockey games, not a Peace Prize.
Hell, Lindy practically snapped a twig over poor Luke Adams head derailing his entire career, so there’s even a grey area with abuse.

Q claims that he was told that there was an incident between a player and coach that should be addressed and he said he didn’t want a distraction for the team from a Stanley Cup chase. If he truly didn’t know the severity of the issue, I don’t see how you can fault anyone in his position for waiting to address it. Which brings me to the next point.
Chevy wasn’t punished because it was deemed it was his boss, Bowman, who was responsible for handling the issue. I don’t see how the same doesn’t apply to Q.
Its all complete speculation as to who is being honest, who feels remorse, who has done enough reconciliation and rehabilitation.
I don’t think we will make a move for him, so it’s all moot.

What happened was awful but how did Quenneville directly ruin the kid’s career? The coaching staff at the AHL level and Bowman as GM would have been more directly involved.
It should have been handled way differently from an organizational standpoint.
All I’m saying is Quenneville was disciplined by the league and if they decide to reinstate him as some sources seem to think, he will be sought after as he is an excellent coach. If he is available the Sabres should talk to him.
Even if there wasn’t a snowballs chance in hell they hire him, they 100% need to interview every knowledgeable body for insight in improving the Sabres.

After reading the accounting here of the press conference, my emotions seem different than most. I’m pissed, frankly.
KA saw what we all saw. Just acknowledged that he knew it was all wrong. Knew the practices were wrong. Knew coming out of camp was wrong. Knew that the bottom 6 wasn’t heavy enough. Knew that the players heads weren’t where they needed to be. And he let it all fester for the whole ***** season.
Hands on GM, my ass. You are complicit. Get the ***** out of here. You are over your head.
Thank you, I thought I was taking crazy pills.
also, thanks @LGR4GM for the transcript

maybe not you but many stil love LIndy
And many loved Ted Nolan and that didn’t move the needle attendance wise. I have plenty of respect for Lindy, but others have done a great job of explaining my opinion for me as to why he shouldn’t be here.

Would adding LIndy not put people in the seats? That may be the main reason for this...
It wouldn’t get me to go

Picks in the 20s most often are Roslovics and Whites, so no.
Look, GMTM was a ***** manager. No one in his right mind would support his tenure and I'm not aware of anyone who does.
But his biggest failing was people: the types he chose for his organization, and how he treated them.
The number of prospects he "squandered" is overrated.
I don’t support his tenure per se, but if he didn’t call Kim a ***** we would have made the playoffs within 5 years of his tenure. Our biggest issue was jumping from TM team building to JB team building.

Hiring Lindy would divide the fanbase just like hiring Nolan a second time did. We need a unifier, this fanbase is as much of a mess as the organization is. Gallant would have me excited. Not sure who else I would be excited about. There’s people that I’d be happy with though.

I would be completely unbothered by Quinnville but I don’t think Terry would be.

We have to hire Seth Appert. What if someone else does and he’s amazing?! Then what, huh???

81 points with his team is more impressive than anything we’ve done since then imo

Because the assistants are the coach's decision would be my guess. I don't agree with it, but it makes the most sense: Adams doesn't have to lower the hatchet on those guys, the new coach does.
I have decided that, based on the way he operates, Adams is not smart and lacks a spine.
To play devils advocate, wasn’t Adams brought in specifically because he would fire a bunch of staff that Jbotts wouldn’t?

I realize there is a whole different vibe around the Bills fan perception of Pegula and the Sabres fan perception.
But I wonder how much the Diggs trade has in common with the O'Reilly trade?
Did the owner feel disrespected by the star and decided he no longer wanted him in the organization?
Ehhhh I’m probably the only Sabres first guy in my group, but Terry seems to be wearing pretty thin on them as well, especially with the PSLs.
No comment on the actual questions.

Dan Blysma had experience too. Hiring just for the sake of 'experience' as the only qualifier isn't a great idea. It has to be the right guy.
Disco has also been our best coach in a decade. Coincidence?
*this is not a defense of Blysma

Mostly because you don’t trust who they are going to bring in to replace him.
I hope they realize they are at a point of completely losing the fanbase and this hiring is crucial. It has to be a hire that makes the fanbase say “Wow they are serious about finally fixing this mess”
Isn’t this what we said after RaKru got fired?

Personally, I’m both shocked by the move and concerned about Kevyn’s next one. I’ll be happy about this move once the other shoe drops.
It was much needed, but nothing says this will be a positive.

Some interesting economic discussion. I’ll add that there’s a difference between asset appreciation/depreciation and cash profits/losses and that borrowing money, unless it’s an interest-free loan, is always going to cost more than the amount borrowed.
This is unrelated to the Sabres or Terry and more of a general question I’m hoping you have the answer to. I’ve always heard that the borrowing costs for the very, very wealthy were incredibly low to non-existent because of the value having the assets held by the borrower typically outweigh the costs associated with the loan or potentially losing the client. Is this not the case?

Pretty sure it’s the fanbase.
From what I hear half of them are really mean and boo the players and stuff.
And the other half has their heads buried in the sand and refuses to make the team accountable for being so goddam terrible for so goddam long.

Is it safe to assume that Friday is simply the day after locker clean outs and player evaluations?
