  1. So you think that this compares to violent attacks on innocent people that led to multiple wars and thousands of Americans suffering violent deaths? To your Cuomo point, I agree and I think it’s ***** he said that. I’ve had pneumonia five times, MRSA, and swine flu. Illness is not a battle or a fight. It’s incredibly ***** ***** and debilitating and weakening, but it’s not a fight and it’s not even close to battle. I don’t understand why everything needs to be compared to war and violence. Can’t things just suck? The people making that comparison have no idea what they’re talking about.
  2. I’ll eat the occasional hard pretzel, but any time I see a soft pretzel on a menu I buy it. I’m not sure when I because a thing but for at least the last 7-8 years I’ve been eating soft pretzels every chance I get.
  3. If we aren’t afraid how will we cede our rights away?
  4. My energy bill doubled this month. I’m not running any more lights than usual, just have my workstation set-up and running during the day. Not great.
  5. I’ve been starting to see more and more articles related to long and short term concerns on our rights due to corona. Maybe the appropriate time to voice these would have been weeks ago? Or maybe people should always be watchful of their freedoms because they rivalry don’t come back.
  6. So we’ve had a thread with everyone posting their first post on the site, but what I’m most interested in is how everyone came to be a poster. I want to say it was Spring of 2007 and I was at the computer section of my high school library. Someone a few computers down was on the site and I peaked over their shoulder to see what they were looking at. Lo and behold they were on the forum. I went home later that day and started reading. It took me until Vanek was traded and a member only poll for me to make an account and a think a couple more years to post, but I’ve been here ever since. So, how did you become a member?
  7. The biggest thing for me about a no-fan option is making sure they have Gary Thorne available for commentary. Not only is he, in my opinion, the greatest announcer in all of sports, he’s also the most recent commentator to call a no-fan game and it was an absolute gem. As someone who watches a lot of baseball from a lot of teams, I think this was the last time I watched an Orioles game just to watch an Orioles game. https://youtu.be/72dxSi8yK54
  8. If he can play strong on the puck and physical in his own end I have zero issue with this next season. To paraphrase Ray Liota in Blow “Points aren’t everything, George.”
  9. All I know is it gave me a laugh when I really needed one
  10. I still think season one is the best, but season three was really good. Season two was a little meh for me, I kind of forgot all about the show with the two year hiatus.
  11. I watched Road to Perdition yesterday for the first time. Great acting and cinematography. It’s currently on Netflix. Plan on finally watching There Will Be Blood in the next couple of days.
  12. You’re completely insufferable.
  13. After watching this and the Ottawa Brawl BBG it’s so very clear that where we are today is a direct result of Black Sunday. Listening to the players talk about Chris Drury and what he brought the the franchise is painful. We’ve never come back from that.
  14. Also I’m fairly certain that just about every game from 2004(?) onward is available for free on YouTube. Not a virus thing, MLBAM is just so much better at their job than any other sport (which is probably why the NHL hired them)
  15. He also is one off the record for goals in a post season with I think 18
  16. Did this just break? Love me some Bill Withers. One of the best greatest hits albums out there.
  17. Please explain this. Joe Sakic is considered by most one of the best centers of all time. He’s 8th all-time in points, possesses the great wrist shot ever, and along with Yzerman is arguably the greatest leader of all time. Joe Sakic is a hockey treasure whereas Eric Lindros is a hockey what if. Forsberg did neat things, but he’s not Joe Sakic, not even close.
  18. Joe Sakic is one of the fifteen best players in hockey history and even that ranking is borderline insulting. I’m genuinely pained at his lack of appreciation in here.
  19. Maybe, but that’s also his standard attitude towards anything he disagrees with. It’s not a personal attack, but it certainly isn’t civil discourse.
  20. Right after I made my post this morning two of my closest friends at work were fired. On the first they were assured they would keep their employment through May. This is all taking its toll on me. I’m really starting to miss the army and the relationships. I’ve found myself reaching out to most of the contacts I have left over the last few weeks. I’ll be taking a few days off at the end of the month to go camping back up in the mountains with a long lost friend of mine. It’s very difficult for me miss the army and be completely alone at the same time so I’m really looking forward to being with someone who understands.
  21. So let’s say the trade was viewed something like this: Lower ceiling, lower floor prospect than Dahlin/Eichel, but still first round prospect (in Eichel trade case would be player not prospect in top 6 role already with 1C upside but no promises) 2nd line forward in bottom half of prime but still solidly in prime 3/4 defensemen in bottom half of prime but still solidly in prime Bottom pair defenseman Goalie a few years removes from Vezina. Not sure where he will be but has a strong chance of strong play Is this something you do?
