  1. Yes, but given his recent play, I think the Kings would be more than happy to face Quick in the playoffs than to have him in their own net.
  2. Yup -- if something else was brewing with NSH (Fabbro, Saros, more speculation), Asplund's getting claimed unless you send down JJP or UPL. You take what you can get and wish him well. He was 13F and that spot is already taken next year. Edit: But too bad we couldn't get a 5th or 6th. OR do something like Asplund + BUF 7th for a NSH 4th.
  3. Good catch, I completely messed up thinking it was the (insert correct grammatical term) of duplicative. It is not. Thank you! Let's use redundancy instead. No --- they're not equal players. But the team had only 4 guys with size on the wing: Tuch, Okposo, Girgs, and now Greenway. Greenway can't replace Tuch, but he can play Tuch's role. Meanwhile, the top-end: Skinner, Quinn and the energy/speed: Hino/JJP and the shooter: Quinn/Skinner again, plus VO. They were all covered by who could back each other up and interchange with each other.
  4. I was always high on Asplund, but he just never played fast enough. Some combination of Rousek and Kulich and 8 games of Savoie will replace him easily next season. But what Sabre will earn a Selke vote next (not including Cozens)? 😇
  5. Speaking of Jost, this deal with Minnesota could be interpreted as a combination with taking him off waivers. They're both players the Wild couldn't keep for next season because of the buyout penalties. Jost + Greenway for a 2nd + 5th If Jost can get 10-15 goals and Greenway can add 8-12 (his career high, but enter Granato) next season on a 3rd/4th line role, that's a major upgrade from where the Sabres have been with Asplund, Eakin, etc.
  6. Huh. Detroit retaining on JVR?
  7. No retention because MIN has $14M in buyout penalties next year and the year after for Parise/Suter.
  8. Yup - ESPN just restated that, too. Greenway becomes the final piece of the Eichel trade.
  9. Yes --- if Granato is willing to move Okposo up to the top line. Greenway probably replaces Tuch's PK work through the end of the season.
  10. We all like to look good. And that means changing underpants frequently. Mine have Yoda heads!
  11. Solid bottom-6 addition. If he ends up on 4W we'll all be disappointed, except that he will win board battles and provide pushback. But a 3W with Feisty Krebs next season? That could be fun. Careless PIMs worry me with this PK, but honestly, that's more of a concern for next season than the close of this season.
  12. He's no Marcus Foligno in the ferocity, and he's no Tuch in the hands... but he's a Tuch-lite and that's the duplicity this team didn't have since Okposo doesn't have the wheels. Nice addition. The question is... can Granato unleash the potential?
  13. I wasn't ready to move VO this last year. With the youth movement in force, they weren't going to go out and get a rental or high-priced UFA, so VO was a good mid-6 scorer. AND yes, because he started the season on the top line for Tuch to spread out the scoring, I did select VO as the team's leading scorer this year, I admit it and I'm fine with it (outscoring TNT by about 2 points). And this team would've been in full "Sell Mode" 2 weeks ago if not for VO's 20+ goals. Hino and Okposo filling in his time on the PP or 3rd line and they don't replicate the goals that helped win games that VO provided. All that said, I've seen enough from Quinn this season. And I think that Rousek can be Hino and I believe that Kulich can be a 4W and provide some PP2 sniping next season. VO is not a playoff guy, so I'm not sure of his value at the deadline. But for a team that needs secondary scoring, I can move him during draft day and thank him immensely for his time in the Sabres system and congratulate on going from a 7th to a legit NHL scorer.
  14. Mostly hours Sun-Thurs this week. Maybe I should take a holiday this week each year.
  15. Errrrrmmm... I sometimes use it to say goodbye because it was in the opening for Quake II. ESPN+ only ran TSN from 5AM-10AM PT, not it's the ESPN side. Though it's a more intimate, all-facing-each-other setup. It's got more energy.
  16. Godspeed, TSN coverage. ESPN+ should just carry the 'centre all day.
  17. He was a GMTM pick, not JBot's. I do think Asplund would fit their system pretty well. But JBot drafted Bryson. Just sayin'. 😇
  18. Translation: He does not want to go to Columbus.
