  1. UPL will have that shield down up, we've gotta give him more time games! Yes, it seems like he's been around for a long time (a long time), but K^6 is still only 22 years old. But more than age, he hasn't even played 60 professional games on North American sized ice yet. He did have the one season of 53 OHL games, but he's got to get the chance to work on his craft for a bit. We can debate whether it's ECHL or AHL, but he goalies need games and he's had two shortened seasons impeding his development. Barring injury, we should see the beginning of what he is by the end of this season when he gets close to about 100 pro games. Compare that workload to Ullmark (127 AHL games + 26 in Buffalo before he stuck in the NHL); Miller (170 AHL gm, plus all NCAA games on NA ice); Biron (99 AHL + 9 NHL + 2 ECHL); even Hasek (a much older player than any of the others, got 53 IHL games and 53 NHL games before he took over for good in '93-'94).
  2. Mule will that shield pairing # down. We've gotta give him more time! <cut back to ewoks>
  3. Toker would’ve won this one for us.
  4. With a little puck luck tonight we're tied, at worst. Neither goalie has been impressive and we're a bad Miller turnover from even.
  5. OK -- my darthexercise is complete and I'm intermisshowered and ready. Now, to find a bevy and undo that workout! 13-5 in shots, highlights are looking good except the disappearing puck goal trick courtesy of Hagg.
  6. That's the danger of bringing in the JAG roster. And (once an inevitable injury or two occurs... it's why Risto and Zadorov were up full-time a year too soon. You can't send them back down when you've got Meszaros and Benoit). Just like our top AHLers should supplant Hinostroza/Caggiula now because of their skills, but it's the all around steadiness and consistency that they need first. However, if they're not rushed and are ready (whether to start next season, or middle of next season, or even the start of 2023 season), then it doesn't matter who they replace in the lineup.
  7. Curious thing: the Coyotes stole a point from us with Vejmelka's stellar NHL debut, but if we'd have gotten Hutton we'd have probably put up 5+ on our 30+ shots. Another point in looking at Coyotes numbers -- Chychrun is a good young player that they're treating like we did to Ristolainen. He's playing almost 25 minutes a night and likely in all the hardest matchups. He's already a -21. At this pace (doubtful because Wedgewood has settled down their goaltending) he'd be a beyond -100. Hutton only made it 3 games with his .741 save percentage.
  8. It is disappointing when you consider the team is 5-1-1 at home, plays with energy, it was a Friday night, and it was the only opportunity to see McDavid (barring a Cup Final matchup) in Buffalo all season... thanks, ownership!
  9. I wonder if any of the NYRangers watched our game.
  10. Bryson is quickly turning into an extremely dependable long-term NHL defenseman.
  11. huh... his tie has a piece of fabric just overlaid on it?
  12. Nice game. Sometimes you're going to be way outmatched in the skill department and need to skate and block shots.
  13. Way to be, Bryson! No matter who it is, you never take a penalty when you forget the puck and then just stand up the player.
  14. Ha! I liked Asplund fake-shot about 2 seconds after the puck had bounced away from him and was already exiting the zone.
  15. Skinner, drawing penalties. OK, gents, let's dig another well!
  16. We're going in, we're going in full throttle. That oughta keep those Oilers off our back. The rebounds will be there.
  17. This is a bold strategy. Tire them out by keeping them on the PP.
  18. So uncivilized undisciplined. Edit: Miller's penalty, not blasters.
  19. Make-ups are a thing. But that was also a legit hold.
  20. Yamamoto's going to garner a diving reputation with flops like that.
  21. Bjork Bjork Bjork! <flings sticks and pucks overhead and into the crowd (or netting)>
