I voted no. Got some opposing reactions. Next will be the talk about how he probably tried but it’s a hard job. It is definitely a hard job especially when you are inexperienced and not the right guy for the team/situation.

How is it a major move when the player only plays between the faceoff circles and the goal line? He’s grossly overpaid so it’s not like he is a legit 9mil guy.

No. The closest might be moving Skinner for some picks, bottom six player, or some combination.

I have a strange feeling KA will ice a very very similar team as last year. I do think Skinner will be gone and some fourth liner will be added but overall, same roster.

Agree the PP needs to really improve. To the bold, I don’t think anyone should expect a young guy coming in to help with production. We should expect a veteran player to come in to do that. An experienced 2C would be better than a 3C we are paying to be a 2C.

I voted no. I do not see Tuch and UPL here when this team goes deep.

If you trade the pick then the other team gambles that the player they want to pick is still there. On the other hand you could pick the player you assess a specific team wants but likely wouldn’t have access to because they pick later. You then flip that player (and other pieces) for what you want from that team. Can you work a side deal with another team who picks much later? Tell team X you’ll pick a guy they want and discuss additional pieces for an immediate trade.

It’s not embarrassing it’s sports fandom. They’re a rival team and no matter good or bad the Sabres play it’s always fun to see the Leafs lose. Now if a member of the Sabres organization publicly rejoiced that would be different.

I think the biggest impact will be readiness. The Sabres seem to need half the first period before they settle into their game. Maybe that’s why they got outscored so bad in the first. Team defense is another area Ruff will noticeably improve. To send that point home, ice time may be lost if you don’t put out in your own end. I don’t see this as a good thing if my name is Jeff Skinner.

Agreed. KA needs to finally get the coaching staff something better to work with.

No big reaction from me until I see who the assistants are. Even then I probably won’t react much until end of November. Ruff has way more experience and success than the last three coaches. On paper he’s an upgrade IMO.

I’m just not going to get worked up in April when we won’t see what happens until October. I’ll probably have some reaction when I see who the assistants are and what rosters moves are made.
