New York State Gun Bill - WIVB Report
SABRES 0311 replied to SABRES 0311's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Some common ground. I don’t see an answer to gun control everyone will be happy with but some people want more control in general. It’s as if they use highly charged topics like this to test how far they can go. What happens if this passes? What else would require your username/password in the future? -
Driving home I ask the wife if she wants me to wait until she comes back from the kid’s gymnastics to watch the game (replay). She makes a sour face and says “ it was a good game” in a defeated tone. Then she tells me her sister was watching it while they were Facetimeing. The one thing I was looking forward to. Game 11 of the streak and this is how I find out they lost.?

The last couple PKs/games felt like a SH goal is in the near future. Impressive how ERod I believe just took the puck in the SJ end. The guy just stood there and didn’t move as ERod came by and took it off his stick. He probably thought ERod was going to just skate by like you see so many PK units in the NHL do.

Sounds like an easy request. I will say though the kid probably knows more swear words than the adults.

Winning one goal games is not sustainable? Nine of the last ten wins were one goal games. Apparently the Buffalo Sabres disagree. Then again Leafs fans are space cadets. They need to get back in the kitchen and make Sabres fans a sammich. Side note: Dolly Parton looks creepy as hell. Oil prices are going up because all the plastic is in her body.

All this coffee straight black talk and I regret telling everyone I drink tea. Turns in the man card.

Depends on the opponent, Remi’s progression, Wilson’s chemistry with line mates and the rest of the bottom six’s status. -

Anyone in favor of a Sabres season thread? We have Around the NHL and GDTs for individual games. How about a thread to discuss the season as it progresses but dedicated just to the Sabres? Or is that lineup thread? If in favor let me know and I can start it up. If not no biggie. -

I don’t know. Can’t get a straight answer from the news or those running for office. I read an article stating the U.S. is in a cold civil war. Where our politics use to be about agreeing on the end result but disagreeing how to get there. Now we argue over what the end state is. -

He needs to find a balance between playmaker and sniper because he can do both. Once he does the defense will likely focus on blocking his shooting lane opening the passing lane. I think at this point the defense knows he’s looking to pass. Just my opinion. On another note I’m surprised TT didn’t put the puck through the net. What a rocket. I think he was pretty upset about the no call and put some hate and discontent into the shot. Remi can stay. He handled PK duty well and plays with motivation. -

Couple times they were looking for the fancy play. Eichel coughing up a breakaway instead of shooting it. Seems his mentality is too focused on drawing defenders close hoping it leaves someone open. Guy has great hands and killer shot. Wish he would shoot it a little more instead of passing. I’m sure the balance will come. On a lighter note I was on pins and needles. Didn’t want the streak to end on my first GDT. I think I will leave it to the pros (WILDCARD) for a while. -

I don’t have an answer to the gun issue but mental health is at the center of it. I guess as the world’s population increases so will the number of crazies. I predict increased gun restrictions will fail to meet the intent we are told. If NY wants access to people’s social media then I guess it’s not my problem. Good luck to you guys and I sincerely hope I am wrong on my prediction. -
I was wondering if a new club for science and technology would be ok. Nothing political but a place to discuss current, future, and theoretical topics. Thank you.

Same here. Alternative sources only help to a point. I watched Glen Beck a bit and I like his history lessons and how he relates past to present/future. -

The idea that because citizens do not have CBRN weapons does not eviscerate 2A. What does is incremental restriction on law abiding citizens eventually. Didn’t some politician recently say something about the government having CBRN weapons which makes any act against the government short lived? Do you think the military would fire those weapons? I do not. Any order to do so would result in the military turning on the politicians. Medical. I believe there are those people with PTSD and it is an unfortunate side affect of wars. However I question the diagnosis of of a few military personnel, most notably my brother. What I am worried about is the compensation for PTSD being used to entice more claims. Again based on personal experience and not lumping everyone affected. Getting out of the military is stressful by itself. Add improper cool down from a deployment right before transition and now you have an overstressed person who goes to the VA. This is where it gets a little conspiracy theory like. If former military were to be seen as a civil threat to an overreaching government, what would be a way to limit their access to firearms? If they were formally diagnosed with a disorder which legally restricts, at some point, their access. Education. How many gun owners and non gun owners actually receive formal training? I have been to enough ranges to question Darwin’s Theory. I have also heard politicians mischaracterize weapons like they are the boogeyman. So because someone goes nuts I have to deal with added restrictions if I move back to NY? The gun doesn’t do the killing, messed up people do. Can we agree on that? I agree the types of people you reference are dangerous but I think nationalism and white nationalism get erroneously lumped together. I did a five second Google search and below is what came up. Absolutely nothing racial at all. It does say extreme patriotism and feeling of superiority over other countries. Please tell me in your opinion what type of weapon should I, someone who holds the idea we are all created equal by God in high regard be allowed to own? This is a serious question with no backhanded meaning. Had to edit. If you think extreme conservatism is a threat and rightfully so, what are your thoughts on Antifa, Maxine Waters, and liberals burning store fronts and rioting? One is an action arm, one is an instigator, and the other is a result of temper tantrums mostly by beta males. nationalism /ˈnaʃ(ə)n(ə)lɪz(ə)m/ noun patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts. "an early consciousness of nationalism and pride" synonyms: patriotism, patriotic sentiment, allegiance/loyalty to one's country, loyalism, nationality; More an extreme form of patriotism marked by a feeling of superiority over other countries. plural noun: nationalisms "playing with right-wing nationalism" advocacy of political independence for a particular country. Cmon man what are you talking about? read 2 again. I was saying your point is backed by precedence. I don’t have an answer to the problem because Im not privy to the inside details. For 3 you said we don’t have the answers. We have some answers but not all. Hence why I used more words. The last paragraph you went to outer space with. To clarify It was meant as something that could actually be fun if your into that sort of thing. Somehow you took it as an attack. -

1. Agreed. 2. Disagree. When you have the oil fields you can afford CNNs second rate reporting. 3. Half true. Hillary did have classified material on a personal server. I do not know if the server was rated for the classification and if the infrastructure was cleared. Ivanka’s issue is developing. Until we know what information was communicated it is too early to go either way. Last sentence is very important. 4. 2 Is not common sense. I believe you are referring to world opinion and it’s affect on geopolitical support. Therefore you are providing your answer on historical reference. Bravo. If you care to do so, grab an article from a U.S. left leaning and right leaning media outlet. Do the same for a foreign article on the same topic. Circle what information is the same and underline differences in cause/effect. You will notice the spin we all know exists but now it is in plain sight. You may also see the echo chamber affect. -

Are Your Expectations for this Season Changing?
SABRES 0311 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I expect wins where in past season I expected losses. Tampa game for example. The Sabres are finally realizing their potential and everyone is working hard. How many times has Jack sprinted back on D? Look at the job Larson did on the PK against the Habs. Most importantly look at the fun. Nobody is losing their love of the game on this team. You can quantify hard work with numbers but numbers won’t say when you will break a bone on a blocked shot, never give up on a long shift, or make a come from behind victory. The season will end however it does but the future will be brighter than when it started.
