I think Krebs could be a good 3C with Greenway on his wing. A scoring winger on the opposite wing would be ideal IMO.

I’m looking forward to the summer threads about roster configuration. There’s actually so many possibilities and areas to address. Do we give up assets for a starting goalie? Do we go after a top four dman? Top six forward? Who plays with who?

This was the original conversation. Both players had a turnover and one got punished. Someone asked why both didn’t. The answer is one is better than the other at scoring and we were down by two.

Because sitting the guy who is arguably the hardest worker for making a mistake is one of many ways to send a message. He’s not going to sit a player who has a much better chance of scoring when down by two.

Not really. Benson is a hard worker but he’s not a go to guy for production when you’re down by two. If Lindy is going to try sending a message it makes sense to sit Benson because he’s a hard worker. Not like you lose a scoring ability by doing it.

There ya go. Lindy isn’t going to bench Peterka for making the same mistake as Benson because of the in game situation. He’ll bench Benson to send some type of message though. In that situation Benson was expendable.

Who is more likely to score on the PP, Benson or Peterka?

Peterka is light years ahead of Benson as a player. I’m sure Lindy was equally upset at both players but Benson is expendable.

The Sabres should know it doesn’t take a perfect shot or play to score. Plenty of teams score on them off weak plays.
