1-5 against the reigning AL champs this season.

Don't forget about Cody Bellinger. Second fastest player in MLB history to 25 home runs. He got it in his 69th career game. Judge needed 85 games to hit his 25th home run. And Bellinger is 3 years younger. A couple of crazy good rookies this year.

I looked up woot on m-w.com and it says first known use is 2002, but I have IRC chat logs from at least 2000 with the word. -
I don't think anyone won E3 this year. Nintendo showed very little real gameplay this year and their two biggest announcements didn't even have a trailer. Sony didn't show any new games (though I loved what I saw from Spider-Man). Microsoft had the Xbox One X and while I can always appreciate new, more powerful hardware, they still didn't have anything worthwhile in exclusives.

I've had Mario Odyssey pre-ordered since March 1 on Amazon. Gotta have that Mario fix. I think I might get the Yoshi game as well. Pass on Kirby. Can't wait for more info on the Pokemon game for the Switch.

I don't understand the point of this slang. Why drop the 'd' from hyped? I've seen this more and more lately. *shrug* I guess I'm just old now. -
Don't make me slap you with a fish.

Sooooooo...Eric Decker, anybody?
-
I was bored by EA, but that's to be expected (for me) as it was my least anticipated event, and sadly one that I can actually watch live.

Looks like Jeremy Maclin is on the market. Watkins + Maclin + Jones? Hmm... That sounds quite interesting.

I watched the first episode of Legion last night. Very interesting. I look forward to watching more. -

I finally got around to Stranger Things. So good, I want more right now! Halloween is too far away. -
No, but it's pretty close. The PS2 debuted in March of 2000. The PS3 debuted in November of 2006 (6 years, 8 months later). The PS4 debuted in November of 2013 (7 years later).

The PS2 is over 17 years old. How old do you feel now? :P

JBOT? What does the OT stand for, or are we just shouting the nickname?

I like this point. It's especially weird when you think about the fact that the Bisons were the AAA team for either Pittsburgh or Cleveland for most of their existence. Whatever, go Tribe.

I hope you're right on the WRs, but I again disagree. Jones being better than Woods as a rookie is doubtful, Listenbee hasn't played a single pro game yet due to injury (though I don't think it'll be difficult to improve on Goodwin; he's such a good guy but the talent isn't quite there), Holmes has the same number of TDs as Hunter despite having played in 18 more games. McCoy is absolutely a top-5 back when healthy, totally agree. On a per-game basis, Clay's 2015 season was worse than Chandler's 2013 season and his 2016 season is worse than Chandler's 2012 season. Chandler had 6TDs in back-to-back years for us and Clay has had 3 and 4 TD seasons so far. And Clay is supposed to be better than Chandler. In TDs, Clay doesn't even hit the top 10 for Buffalo on a per-season basis. Having said that, I do think his potential is way higher than Chandler's even though we haven't seen the results. Taylor didn't improve at all last year, despite having the extra season of experience. "hopefully the new coaching staff is more [...] competent than the previous. Last year's offense ranked 10th in points" Do you see anything wrong with having those statements back-to-back? From week 3 onward, i.e. when Anthony Lynn took over, Buffalo was the #6 scoring team in the NFL. That speaks volumes about the competency of Lynn, IMO. If anything, I'd expect regression from the offense and improvement from the defense from a coaching staff perspective.

I really don't agree with this assessment. Top 5? No way. The team lost every meaningful WR it had outside of Watkins, who was either out or playing injured the entire year. McCoy has a ton of wear on his body. Clay has been a non-factor in the vast majority of games. The offensive line has been average at best (Tyrod was the #1 most sacked QB last season).

Bad trade and fragile player I agree, but I'm not convinced it was a bad pick yet.

If McDermott turns out to be the next Belichick, he can have the power of GM, CEO, President, and towel boy for all I care. Bring me a Super Bowl!
-
Well this thread sure took a turn. :P
-
Er, it actually said both of those things.

This is disappointing. Not that we can't upgrade at the GM position, but DW was solid and better than we've had in many years.

First bold: This is nonsense logic. By that argument, you can't ever criticize a trade because you don't know how the players will turn out, which is patently ridiculous. Second bold: You're making assumptions here and it doesn't help your argument at all. Third bold: We entered with the fewest picks in the draft, six. That's why day 1 was so good. We traded back, still got a great player (#2 rated CB by PFF) in a need position, and earned 2 extra picks in the process. Then day 2 happened. Trading away draft capital when we don't have much to begin with just to move up a few spots when we have several holes to fill and players available at our original positions? Stupid.
