  1. For what it's worth, a vote in Alaska is one of the most valuable in the nation, in a way. Alaska had 3 electoral votes with only 318,608 turnout. That's one electoral vote per 106,202 voters. Only Vermont (one per 105,022), DC (one per 103,756), and Wyoming (one per 85,283) had more valuable electoral votes in the last election.
  2. Looks like I can sleep easy tonight.
  3. I don't think Scott is going to change his mind on this subject, but if he does, I think the best course of action might be: Have a separate subforum dedicated to politics. All politics chat goes in this new subforum. All politics chat is banned from The Aud Club. You have to be logged into the site for the politics subforum to even be visible. No ad hominem attacks. Keep things civil.
  4. Perhaps. But still, that post is a rather weak example for his case even with the implications, and exaggerating (half the country) didn't help either. Seemed appropriate to respond in kind.
  5. Don't ignore the word explicitly.
  6. Everything explicitly said in that last post is objective fact, and there is a mountain of evidence to back up the claims in the second quote.
  7. Fun fact, island was originally iland, but an 's' was added to it in the 16th century to make it similar to isle. Etymologically, however, island comes from Old English ig + land, whereas isle comes from Latin insula. Okay, maybe that's only fun to weirdos like me.
  8. For me, that happened when Durant joined them.
  9. Online survival game like DayZ or Rust is what I'm seeing. That's not as bad as Fallout Battle Royale, which is what I was fearing when the Bethesda Twitch stream started, but still pretty meh.
  10. I don't know how he keeps doing it. That said, I don't think a healthy Boston team loses that game.
  11. Go Caps. No way do I want to see Vegas win the cup in their first season when we haven't won one in nearly half a century of existence.
  12. That would go over worse than any protesting, I'd imagine.
  13. Whatever it was, I'm sure I'd agree.
  14. Apparently Incognito wants to play again, so the Bills released him.
  15. To clarify, and this is the only post I'll make on it so as not to continue derailing the thread, the term SJW has changed over the last decade and especially the last few years. It used to be a fairly neutral term, or even positive term, for someone interested in civil rights, especially feminism. It has since taken a hard turn towards being essentially a slur these days that a certain segment of the right uses against a certain segment of the left, and using it is effectively a calling card to associate yourself with people who are more than happy to harass, insult, and doxx (revealing someone's real identity/personal info like address or phone number) women and those who defend them online. Since I have never considered you among that latter group, I felt that you might not grasp the full situation you are engendering with your use of the term. Anyway, back to Dahlin.
  16. 1. I don't get that impression at all. 2. I don't think you understand the term SJW.
  17. I never said it did. I added additional information to the preconceived notion about him.
  18. And as senior offensive assistant and then assistant head coach.
  19. For what it's worth, Andy Reid and David Culley have been together since 99, Reid's first year as a head coach. Granted, that wasn't as a QB coach, but Reid must have some amount of respect for the guy to keep him for nearly 2 decades.
  20. You're right. I forgot "best-of-7".
  21. Not to throw salt in the wound, but the Cavs have beaten Toronto in 10 straight playoff games, an NBA record, and both sweeps culminated on May 7. The only people in NBA history who have had more than 2 consecutive postseasons with a series sweep are LeBron and LeBron's teammates.
  22. Horse racing, boxing, MMA. These are sports about which I don't understand why people care.
  23. From that same website, for 17 year olds: http://www.quanthockey.com/shl/en/player-age/17-year-old-shl-players.html
  24. They had 2 first and 2 second rounders. I don't know if that would have been enough to move up, but maybe add a player in there.
