I agree the market is weak for Vanek now. His value will be a lot higher at the trade deadline.

I'm not suggesting the Hodgson trade completely addressed the center depth issue. Adding two 1st round centers improved center depth within the organization too. Would you rather have Roy w/ more center depth or Ott w/ competitive leadership?

I agree the team lacks NHL-ready center depth. Leino is not the only action taken to create center depth. I can think of (3) moves in the last 16 months that improved center depth - its unfortunately going to take some time to see how they'll develop.

Ott is the competitive leadership. Name one 'sure thing' playmaker that has been available either via FA or trade since Briere and Drury left the team.

You're right. It seems less about the Sabres and more about personal conflicts with Sabres management. Stay professional.

I personally believe there are more people within the organization involved in the player acquisition and contract negotiation decision-making process than Darcy. I do not like the outcome of the ORGANIZATIONAL decisions but I do not solely blame Darcy for all of them. There are too many unknown factors to place all the blame on Darcy. Unless - of course- you were part of the decision making process and witnessed Darcy making all the decisions on his own. Totally agree w/ point on Briere and it was HUGE blunder. Darcy took responsibility for the decision. I think Kotalik and Dumont are comparable players in a lot of respects. Impossible to know but I personally believe Kotalik could have had similar success on a line w/ Briere. Just ask Leino.... RFA and UFAs have choices in the process too. There are two sides to a negotiation. Some players may choose to negotiate after reaching RFA in hopes of an offer sheet and others may choose to 'walk' regardless of the offer. Just a couple of scenarios I've considered personally. All that said.... I do not like the outcome over the last several years and I would prefer different personnel leading the hockey operations. However, I like Darcy's work over the last 2 years. He has done a great job maximizing return for the team assets. I'm more concerned about 'how' the returned assets will be managed.

Although this is incredibly fun to observe and I'm tempted to let it keep going for entertainment value, I'm not affiliated with the Sabres or Nittany Lions. Just a long-time Sabres fan. BTW, nice find on the NHL East reactions. I dont remember that specific message and had no idea it was referenced!

The investment may be financial (season tickets, merchandise, ect.) and/or time spent obsessing over the current state of the team. Simple or complex, you still have a choice. What are you trying to insinuate about my comment?

What did he make personal? He's invested millions into the franchise to change the culture & pursue a championship. Do you think he's earned a dime from the franchise after all of his expenditures? TP did not purchase the Sabres to make money. He made this clear from the beginning and a 4% increase in ticket prices doesnt change my opinion. TB explained his responsibility - to ensure the long-term financial stability of the franchise - regardless of the owner. Its a matter of perspective. Profitability doesnt matter to TP but it does to TB because its his job. As for TP speaking about DR contract extension, he doesnt owe anyone an explanation. If you do not like the direction of the team, dont invest as much into the team. Its your choice.

Please help me understand. What else do you want from him to prove his passion?
