i'm officially stepping over the line in the sand. I will no longer attempt to rationalize DR's actions or lack thereof. The Bobby Ryan deal pushed me over the edge.
I'm not suggesting the Hodgson trade completely addressed the center depth issue. Adding two 1st round centers improved center depth within the organization too.
Would you rather have Roy w/ more center depth or Ott w/ competitive leadership?
First paragraph - heresay
Everyone's opinion of 'sure thing' playmakers is different. How do you know Darcy didnt attempt to acquire those players? There are two sides to a negotiation.
I agree the team lacks NHL-ready center depth. Leino is not the only action taken to create center depth. I can think of (3) moves in the last 16 months that improved center depth - its unfortunately going to take some time to see how they'll develop.
Ott is the competitive leadership. Name one 'sure thing' playmaker that has been available either via FA or trade since Briere and Drury left the team.
