Has anybody seen Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal? Good thriller with a lot of thinking.

I have always loved PK Subban and I would love to see him raise the cup in Nashville. I hope he gets one. Seems like a genuinely great guy who is having fun and knows being paid millions to play a game means you should take the time to do good for those who are less fortunate.

Selanne's last year was the first year of their deals. He only had a $2 million cap hit, though. Pronger hadn't played for Anaheim for five years by the time Perry and Getzlaf extended.

CATENACCI, KASDORF AGREE TO CONTRACTS WITH SABRES Posted on July 17, 2016 by chrisdierken | Leave a comment BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 17, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed two restricted free agents not named Rasmus Ristolainen in forward Daniel Catenacci and goaltender Jason Kasdorfto two-way contracts. Catenacci (5’9”, 191 lbs., 3/9/1993) made his NHL debut for the Sabres during the 2015-16 season, recording seven shots on goal in 11 games. Buffalo’s third-round pick (77th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Catenacci also posted 24 points (12+12) in 50 games for the Rochester Americans (AHL) last season. In 196 career AHL games, the Richmond Hill, Ontario native has recorded 76 points (38+38) and 131 penalty minutes. Kasdorf (6’3”, 172 lbs., 5/18/1992) also made his NHL debut in 2015-16, making 26 saves against Columbus on April 8 in his only appearance. Acquired in a trade from the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 11, 2015, Kasdorf posted a 38-37-9 record with a .920 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average in 88 career games for RPI (NCAA) before turning pro last season. https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com/2016/07/17/catenacci-kasdorf-agree-to-contracts-with-sabres/

Remember when Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf's contracts were nearly up and everybody assumed the Ducks would either lose one or dismantle the roster? They both ended up signing extensions that totaled 28.1% of the cap at the time. Stamkos and Hedman have signed extensions that total 22.4% of the cap. The only big casualty in Anaheim, unless I'm missing something, was Bobby Ryan... But then Anaheim turned around and added Ryan Kesler, too. I think Tampa Bay knows the spot they're in and Yzerman+ are managing it beautifully.

Kris Baker of Sabresprospects.com updated his depth chart. I'm going to make a few tweaks based on his info. He, interestingly, listed Nylander as a left winger. EDIT: I only made one tweak to my rankings since they lined up a ton with what he has minus a few I feel more confident in. Florentino dropped from 15 to 21.

Tim Wharnsby @TimWharnsby Alex Killorn & #TBLightning settle: 7 yrs at $4.45m/season. I like Killorn but that's a big bet on him. That's similar to the deal Kyle Palmieri got in New Jersey and he just put up 30 goals.

He looked overmatched, but I don't think he falls into the category of players who were "so far away." He always had the skill and smarts to do it.

The most magical thing about this is Heidi Klum.

I think there is some risk to exposing players who are legitimately not ready to the NHL game, even for a nine-game stint. Players who are close are able to use it to set certain goals but players who are truly far from the big club may see it as an unattainable goal or get completely knocked off track by the speed/physicality of the game.

If we can have Brock Boeser the Nucks can have Evander. :flirt: Even though we're prospect heavy on the right side. Or Alex Edler. But neither of these would happen.

It's pretty interesting to see the exact moment from the broadcast that the photo happened, too. Conacher has the puck on the heel of his stick, Oduya has his stick extended near Crawford's right pad, Stafford has his neck turned to the right and Sharp to the left, Handzus has his stick lazily hovering out to his left, Crawford is looking down at the puck ready to make a move.

'18-19 lineup: O'Reilly - Eichel - Nylander Ennis - Reinhart - Okposo Asplund - Girgensons - Bailey Carrier - Larsson - Fasching McCabe - Risto Kulikov - Bogo Guhle - Nelson Lehner - Petersen Don't want to derail the thread but I just wanted to piece something together based purely on what we have and the likelihood of things going forward. I would say you ideally land a LW for Eichel (Vesey?) that allows you to pair ROR with Reinhart and Okposo on the second line. That would move Ennis out of the lineup. Petersen or Ullmark could easily be the backup. Lehner COULD be gone or the backup to Ullmark/Petersen. I'm only using players we have so I'm thinking the best bet is for McCabe to develop into a top-pairing dman two years from now, but I think it's more likely Guhle is the long-term pair with Risto (just didn't want to project him to be that in two years). Kulikov could very well solidify himself as the long-term partner, too. If you respond to this by saying "we're doomed if that's our defense" or "no way Asplund is a top-six winger by then" then please read. I did this only with players we have in our system. I also didn't take fit into account as much as likelihood of being top six or top four or whatever.

Ironically, Drew Stafford scored on that play. https://youtu.be/dyiJ4o6zdNk?t=62

Maybe. I think Rochester is the best development point for him. I won't be shocked to see him get the nine games in Buffalo throughout the season (his contract can and will slide if he plays a full season in Rochester and less than ten games in Buffalo). I don't think it's fair to say definitively that he's not ready when we know so little. I don't believe he is and, if what I believe and have seen is accurate, I sure hope a majority of his season is spent in Rochester. But none of us can definitively say anything about a kid like Nylander who is extremely skilled. Smaller players play and succeed in the league consistently so we'll see. And no, playing him in Buffalo (or Rochester for that matter) does not equate to the team "rushing" him. Players play when they're ready. If Nylander, Bylsma, Murray and the franchise as a whole believe he's prepared and his best development would take place in Buffalo then that's where he needs to be. Every player is different. They've each had different experience and gone through plenty of different leagues, programs, tutelage and been raised in different ways. Daniel Sprong just got more than a cup of coffee with the Penguins (didn't they have a good season or something?). Sprong was taken in the 2nd round in last year's draft, so he played immediately. Ryan O'Reilly played in his draft year but was very physically mature at that point. These are just two examples. There are examples of players who lacked "ideal" NHL size like Nylander did who played early and that turned out to be the right decision. I'll trust the decision making of our GM and staffers. If they think he's ready then I'll think they're right. I'm not going to act like I know without a shadow of a doubt whether or not somebody I've never seen more than a few videos of is ready. This isn't saying people can't have any opinion on his readiness. Of course we all can. I have one and it agrees with the general consensus among fans that he isn't ready. But stating anything definitively is misleading.

As somebody who wanted Stamkos: Benn is worth $2 million more, minimum.

The Sabres would have to agree to that which wouldn't make any sense with Rochester as an option.

Nope. Once he signs an NHL contract he can't have a pro contract with another professional league.

https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com/2016/07/15/sabres-ink-nylander-to-entry-level-deal/ This means he will be in Buffalo or Rochester SABRES INK NYLANDER TO ENTRY-LEVEL DEAL Posted on July 15, 2016 by chrisdierken | Leave a comment BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 15, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Alexander Nylander to a three-year, entry-level contract. “We are extremely pleased to sign Alex to his entry-level deal,” said Sabres General Manager Tim Murray. “When we selected Alex, we obviously knew he was a talented, skilled player. We look forward to him coming to training camp and competing for a job.” Nylander (6’1”, 178 lbs., 3/2/1998) was the Sabres’ first-round selection (No. 8 overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft. He led all Mississauga Steelhead (OHL) skaters in goals (28), assists (47) and points (75) in 2015-16 and added a team-high 12 points (6+6) in six playoff games. The 75-point output, which also led all OHL rookies, earned Nylander both OHL and CHL Rookie of the Year honors. The Stockholm, Sweden native represented Sweden in two different tournaments last season and posted more than a point per game in both. He led Sweden’s 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship team with nine points (4+5) in seven games and earned a silver medal while leading Sweden with 11 points (3+8) in seven games during the 2016 IIHF Under-18 World Championship.

In some aspects. Others it has gotten worse.

I've always been big on bringing back the royal, but it's worth noting the whites will never achieve that look again. The shoulders aren't stitched like they used to be so the long, skinny blue shoulder wouldn't be the same which, to me, is what gives the old whites the great look. Still want them to get to a modern version of the royals.

23 it is! I'll unveil the other. It's 24 (Tyson Strachan wore it last) 15 - worn by a current player 4 - worn by a current player 17 - worn by an outgoing UFA 23 - worn by a current player (worn by most players in team history) 24 - last worn in 2015 by a player who is not currently in the NHL 19 - worn by a player currently who goes up and down between Rochester (does NOT wear this number in Rochester) 21 will join the tie and add another number to this list once Okposo wears it this season officially.

Mr. Robot is back and the first episode was incredible tv. This show has blown me away from episode one. Rami Malek couldn't have been cast better. A truly "I cannot wait for more" show.
