I could've typed this response for you because I knew exactly what you were doing two posts ago. And once again, for the fourth time TODAY, there are plenty of cases (including Tulsa) where it is KNOWN that the police officer unfairly and unjustly killed a black man. The riots are about that. Police shootings in recent history got their attention and a questionable (no longer) shooting in their own back yard got them to the streets. The point stands regardless of what we now know about the shooting in Charlotte. I don't support rioting because of things we do not know. There are too many cases of undeniably improper shootings of black men. Simple as that. I know you want to attempt to remove my opinion from all matters by insisting I have a bias, but it's okay to have a strong, consistent opinion that disagrees with you, JJ. A few posts ago I did, essentially, the same thing by questioning if N'eo's opinion was born purely in anger and not rationality. N'eo explained what he was getting at by repeating himself and I recognized that I was wrong about what he meant in the first place. You can leave that stuff in your head, JJ. We have differing opinions. If either of us has a bias we both have a bias.

If white people joined the riots in Charlotte in support of black people I would not denounce. Or if they had an actual cause that they were the victims of that needed addressing but wasn't being addressed after decades (or even hundreds of years), but white people do not carry such a burden in our country. I denounced the white people that rioted in Vancouver after the Canucks lost.

Who am I holding to different standards? If other groups have similar injustices against them I would feel just as comfortable saying the same things. Nobody is being held to a different standard.

No.

I hope Bailey. He could easily slot into our third line if the work he put in this summer is any sign of things to come in camp.
-
N'eo, why do you insist on repeating that the facts and premise is wrong when it is not? I've explained twice now that Scott isn't the lone reason for this. You're smart enough to know that. Is anger blinding your reason?
-
Freeman - you are correct. December 2014 (the report was two weeks to the day before Rex was hired).

That's one element to the whole thing. It's the overall treatment of black men who are deemed suspects and worthy of lethal action. It's tough to say if we definitively have proof. I, like many others, am a slave to the media on that claim. And there's no doubt the media benefits from people knowing only the minimum they give us. But what we need to see is unbiased numbers of fatal police shootings involving a suspect who threatened or became violent towards police. I concede that I don't have proof, but it's not the fault of the public that we believe such a thing because it's all we know. N'eo talked about gymnastics he can't do. He posted an article that insists overall population numbers can't be factored into the discussion and total numbers of victims of fatal police shootings by race are what should be used. Those are gymnastics I can't do. I'm impressed by your willingness to lump a large group of people into one category. It certainly paints the picture of why we're here having this issue in the first place.

The Raiders reportedly attempted to hire Russ Brandon away from the team this offseason before he was named president of the Sabres.

Nobody is excusing it. I simply won't denounce it. I do not have a feeling strongly enough against the disenfranchised victims of racism and institutional violence/murder. I have no problem denounce any actions that are intentional injurious to those totally uninvolved and undeserving. Smashing some windows, tipping a police car, setting fire to a garbage can, other relatively minor actions in the name of equality? We wouldn't have progress if we didn't have similar and more severe actions in our own history. Let us not forget the Boston Tea Party perpetrated only by white people pushing for a cause much less important than getting a fair chance at life in the eyes of your government. The riots aren't about Scott alone. The riots are about the many with Scott being the match that finally set fire to a pit that has been deserving of a blaze for a long time. There's still the point that white men have done ten times worse than what Scott was doing and were taken into custody. Kill all the aggressive suspects or kill none, don't kill the black ones and make an effort to apprehend the white ones.
-
No, because the rioting isn't only in the name of the late Mr. Scott but a far too extensive recent history of police gunning down black men. Tulsa was flat out murder. Scott appears to have been a false martyr but the point of the riots still stands. I am anti-violence. I don't believe in violent protests that injure others. But I will not speak out for those who feel a way I could never imagine. Yes, there are undoubtedly those in the crowd of protestors who don't believe in the cause and just want to create havoc, but it doesn't demean those who mean well (especially the silent and non-violence protestors).

Nooooo nooooo no. Jose Fernandez, 24-year-old star pitcher for the Marlins, died in a boating accident.

I imagine it would be Risto for Trouba straight up, but the problem is too many righties in Winnipeg so it wouldn't help.

Mason Rudolph hasn't looked "special" tonight, but he's playing pretty well. The coaching staff seems to be playing too conservative for my liking. They ran a delayed handoff on 3rd and 6 just now (got a facemask call that gave them a first). Rudolph is 17 for 23 for 153 yards (no TDs or INTs). This should be some good film for him, though. He has hit the out route and comeback route to perfection like he always does. Still a few throws that were too high which has always been a thing for him, but a lot of those high throws were to guys going outside so it was "safe" and worked. The "knock" on his system has been that it just opens up for him to bomb it deep every other play but Baylor has forced him to play the short/medium game and he's doing so with success. Tied at 21 mid-3rd against number 16 Baylor. I know none of you care. Tom Coughlin is a bad idea.

http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/09/buffalo_bills_met_with_syracuse_alum_tom_coughlin_says_sal_maiorana.html Bills apparently met with Tom Coughlin but it's unclear if it was for a coaching or consultant role. NO, THOSE ARE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD!

This is a very good article that deserves some play somewhere on this board. Thanks for sharing (I honestly only got 3/4 of the way through so far). Speaking of a QB problem: Mason Rudolph, my new found QB prospect love, will be playing hopefully within 10 minutes. The game against Baylor got delayed due to lightning so it's another interesting aspect to tonight's game.

Body cam footage from Charlotte shooting: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pad6x3hcimwm975/OIS%20Body%20Cam.mp4?dl=0 Dash cam footage: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pzocya4tymisisf/OIS%20Dashcam.mov?dl=0 From my view: this should further support the use of force and close the case on whether this was justified. The dash cam footage shows Scott exiting his vehicle with multiple armed officers pointing their guns at him. He starts walking backwards. His hands were at his side. It appears he has something in his hand which the police say was he gun. He definitively was shot with his hands at his sides, but he was backing up and appeared to pose an immediate threat to the officers around him. The body cam footage doesn't show a ton on what's going on prior to the shooting. An officer tries to break a window with a baton but Scott immediately starts getting out of his car. The cop wearing the cam swings to the other side of the car and all you see is Scott standing starting to backup. The only supporting evidence you see in this short instance is Scott's pant leg rolled up revealing an empty ankle holster for a firearm. You also see the holster is clearly empty when Scott is on the ground.

Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incident
Hoss replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
How unbiased of you. -
I didn't get a chance to watch but Kizer finished with 22-37 with 381 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. 11 rushes for 60 yards and a TD. From what I'm seeing on Twitter Kizer had a really good game until it mattered at the end. He failed in a clutch moment against a bad team to fall to 1-3. Not a good sign that he faltered late in a game like this. With the game on the line he completely missed a WR that was blanketed anyways.

I thought you were making a pun about concrete walls and was very disappointed. :( I'm done here. I am fine with the understanding that Vogl did and is allowed to address one aspect of the entire situation without making a statement on its entirety. I also think Bill Belichick has a terrible sense of style but is a great coach. -
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000707383/article/dolphins-among-10-nfl-clubs-scouting-fournette-vs-auburn NFL.com has this scouting tracker they put up each weak to let you know what team has scouts at what game. This week they only have three games listed and Buffalo is attending LSU at Auburn. LSU's top prospects are Leonard Fournette (number one RB in the country), Jamal Adams (possible top-ten draft pick at safety), Tre'Davious White (second-round CB), Malachi Dupre (mid-round WR) and Ethan Pocic (mid-round centre). Auburn's top prospect is Carl Lawson (one of the top DEs in the country). Not a lot beyond that. Last week: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000702896/article/bears-among-11-clubs-scouting-fsus-dalvin-cook-vs-louisville The Bills attended all three games listed. Florida State vs Louisville, Alabama vs Ole Miss and Ohio State vs Oklahoma. Florida State's notable prospects are RB Dalvin Cook, OT Roderick Johnson and WR Travis Rudolph. Louisville doesn't have any notable 2017 prospects but QB Lamar Jackson could be worth the early look. Alabama has a prospect at every defensive position you could want near the top of the draft and top-tier OT Cam Robinson. Also have TE OJ Howard. The big notable for Ole Miss is Chad Kelly who I talked about above. I imagine they'll be watching him and other QBs frequently. Ohio State surprisingly doesn't have a ton of top-end talent in the draft this year, but they're another team with a top centre (Pat Elfiein). Also the top ILB (Raekwon McMillan). Oklahoma lacks top prospects in general but certainly missing the positions Buffalo would be looking at. Two weeks ago: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000696115/article/eagles-giants-among-15-nfl-clubs-scouting-penn-statepitt Only one game listed: Penn State vs Pittsburgh. Neither team has a lot to offer, but Pittsburgh does have a top-tier OT (Adam Bisnowaty) to watch. Penn State has a mid-round WR (DaeSean Hamilton). First week of the season: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000693284/article/browns-among-15-clubs-wholl-scout-deshaun-watson-in-opener Bills listed at two games: Clemson vs Auburn and Florida State vs Ole Miss Auburn, Florida State and Ole Miss are broken down above. Clemson obviously has DeShaun Watson and one of the best WRs in the nation in Mike Williams (yes, Mike Williams). Disclaimer: I understand teams send scouts to games for a ton of different reasons not limited to just players (building relationship, convenience of location, etc). I also understand that NFL.com is giving very limited info and every team has scouts at a ton of different games each week. Also, I know i'm talking to myself. NO, YOU'RE talking to yourself.

So is it no big secret or is it your opinion? :p Again, you're not addressing what Vogl actually said. It doesn't matter what happened. It doesn't matter if Kane is the victim of two separate schemes to take advantage of him in this conversation. Let's have a separate examples because it's no big secret that I'm the biggest fan of using examples/hypotheticals to clarify my point on this board when it comes to ANY ISSUE (gotcha, N'eo ;) ). I kick the same wall and break my foot twice. Later a reporter asks "do you think it's alarming that you found yourself in that same situation twice?" I respond: "Ya know, this is happening a lot. It happens to my family and you can look around at other households with walls and see people finding themselves in these situation." Reporter: "But don't you think it's the extreme minority that finds themselves kicking walls and breaking their feet?" Me: "I don't have the numbers so I can't comment." If a reporter addresses what I just said as delusional are they making a statement about the original action of kicking the wall and breaking my foot? No. They're addressing my lack of ability to grasp how common (or uncommon) it is for these occurrences. You can make a statement on an aspect of a situation without making a statement on the whole situation.
