  1. The human element is the beauty and curse of everyday life, not sports. Sports became a billion-dollar robotic business conglomerate well before replay.
  2. Baseball is the sport replay makes the most sense in, IMO. Extremely slow game where humans are suddenly expect to make the right call on a lot of bang-bang plays. I also think the baseball replay system is the most successful to date.
  3. Well said on the first part. If I can get to that extremely long email at some point I will. On the second part: indeed, this is going to get interesting. I have a feeling it's all too late for the party at this point.
  4. I understand all this. And it's a totally acceptable explanation that I mostly agree with. I think I just feel Trump is an exception. I don't look at him as a candidate in any way. He doesn't have policies. He's not a politician and he's incapable of acting as one, so my brain just tells me people must be voting for a man. All Mike Pence events removed from Donald Trump's website ... Oh my.
  5. My immediate response to this is that they're not less important to Trump. Those are what he is. Luckily there's a month to go until it's over, and I don't really plan on engaging much more on Trump.
  6. Looking for some guidance here. In my head voting for Donald Trump is supporting racism, sexism, homophobia, misogyny, etc ... I feel this way because these traits are such a large part of who Donald Trump is. Am I wrong for feeling this way and why? I'm not claiming that makes people who vote for him those things, but it tells me those things are unimportant and non-issues, at least.
  7. Yea, I haven't listened to him in years so maybe he has worked on his image and tried to become a more honorable person. But I don't really care enough to find out. If others say he isn't that anymore then I'll keep those comments out.
  8. Meh. I don't care much about the guy to really fight one way or the other for his image, but the clips in that story certainly paint the picture of a POS.
  9. Correct. This was an issue with my editing. I originally intended to order the likelihood of each player playing on the third line and then the likelihood of playing on the fourth line. But I changed my mind midpost and didn't reorder.
  10. Howard Stern is also a vile piece of .
  11. The vibe seems to be that the first line of Ennis - O'Reilly - Okposo is locked in, too. So we've got: Ennis - O'Reilly - Okposo Kane - Eichel - Reinhart Then we've got a mix of other players fighting for the bottom six. Bottom-six LW options: Foligno Girgensons Larsson Moulson Grant Nylander Deslauriers Bottom-six center options: Girgensons Larsson Grant Bottom-six RW options: Gionta Fasching Nylander All ordered in likelihood of making the team and getting on the third line vs the fourth. What I would do with the bottom six: Foligno - Girgensons - Fasching Moulson - Larsson - Gionta
  12. Said this last night. I believe I used the term "gutless." It's too late. You missed the boat when Trump said worse things on camera in front of thousands who came from all over to watch a racist pervert talk.
  13. The topic of whether or not transgender men/women should be permitted to play in the opposite gender's league is certainly an interesting one. Having said conversation is important for sports and does not demean LGBTQ individuals if done properly. I am still trying to learn more so I can confidently state an opinion on the matter. I do know many, myself included, have no problem discussing the physical differences between a man and a woman when talking about domestic violence. A man beating a woman is light years worse than a woman beating a man in almost all cases, but there are exceptions (such as an older woman beating a man or a female with a dominant physical stature over a weaker man). So if I can admit this it should certainly apply to sports, yes? I think so. I believe Harrison should be permitted to play in the NWHL and am happy to have him playing for our team in Buffalo. If one of the Sabres players came out and admitted they identified as a woman I would be happy to have them on the Sabres still.
  14. Correct. There was an article about him finding himself at centre again.
  15. Indeed he did. You'll see a bunch of stories today as multiple media outlets spoke to him, the head coach and Dani Rylan (commish of the NWHL) last night. On "liberal agendas" - no. LGBTQ issues are NOT political issues. JJ direct messaged me saying it's a liberal issue because it damn well isn't a conservative one, but I think conservatives are the only ones with an issue on the subject. This isn't politics.
  16. If you want to draw a line then you're eliminating transgender individuals from athletic professions. Transgender males will never qualify to play among men and transgender females will be considered to dominant to participate among women. I'm so tired of this discussion and having to educate people. It's not 1964. It's your job to educate yourself. If you're unwilling to keep up then disappear and let society evolve without your negative space. That trash from matter above about "I've got news for you people have hated since the beginning of time I'm an ignorant loser and here's an extended excuse blah blah" is absolute garbage. Nobody believes that a world where we all love, honor and respect one another is a possibility. That's never the goal. But an improved world with more educated people who are capable of those qualities is the world we all want/need. And none of that has anything to do with your "who cares" post. That post was predictable lazy garble. A lot of people care. Everybody should. Bigoted shitheads don't. Also, pi: the article did specify what sexual organs he has when it said he is a "transgender male" who hasn't had transition surgery... he's not intersex. But you know that and just want to muddy the conversation. His +/- is XX and it's irrelevant. Ban this plug. Thanks.
  17. The first NHL game at T-Mobile Arena is being played tonight. Cool stuff. Getting close to a 31st team.
  18. I'm a little confused and surprised. This is par for the course with Trump. The 2005 tape is nothing new and a continuation of the man that is Donald Trump, but NOW people want him to step down and Paul Ryan uninvited him to an event? Give me a break, gutless bastards.
  19. No no no no no no no. I don't care that he's willing to take a hit. GO AWAY, MIKE WEBER! You're an awesome dude who is way better at hockey than I ever will be and could punch a hole through my throat, but I don't want you on my team. We don't need him. His best hockey is behind him and even that wasn't good. Liger, post the "Let It Go" video please and thank you.
  20. Russell signed with Edmonton for $3.1 mill. And no, I don't think we would've considered him nor should we have.
  21. It'd be like Carrier or Possler & a conditional 2nd for Yakupov (the condition is it's a 2nd if he scores 15 goals, a 3rd if not). I wouldn't hate that deal, but I think we've got enough young players who can fill those spots. Elliotte Friedman@FriedgeHNIC There are rumblings tonight that Kris Russell will be signing with EDM, too.
  22. He doesn't have "some man parts" (whatever the hell that means). He's got female sexual organs. It's not like you can have like four male fingers, seven female toes and the torso of a tyrannosaurus. You've got it backwards. Read the article before you comment.
  23. Read the comment section here and try telling me this isn't important and nobody cares: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nwhls-harrison-browne-is-first-transgender-athlete-in-pro-team-sports-163803199.html You're a idiot if you think it's not important and we don't have huge strides left.
  24. Jason Gregor @JasonGregor Heraing Yakupov to St.Louis for young prospect blueliner.. #Oilers Jeremy Rutherford @jprutherford According to league sources, the #stlblues are on the verge of acquiring Edmonton forward Nail Yakupov. Reports saying it's a conditional draft pick.
  25. I'm fine with Blake Wheeler being on the list. He's better than Eichel right now. And he's awesome. Hell, I'll do my own list. 1. Sidney Crosby 2. Jamie Benn 3. Carey Price 4. Drew Doughty 5. Patrick Kane 6. Alex Ovechkin 7. Erik Karlsson 8. Jonathan Toews 9. John Tavares 10. Anze Kopitar 11. Tyler Seguin 12. Brent Burns 13. Patrice Bergeron 14. Johnny Gaudreau 15. Connor McDavid (he'll be in the top five next year but slow down, kid) 16. Evgeni Malkin 17. Joe Pavelski 18. Victor Hedman 19. Ryan Getzlaf 20. Braden Holtby 21. Vladimir Tarasenko 22. Roman Josi 23. PK Subban 24. Nikita Kucherov 25. Steven Stamkos 26. Nicklas Backstrom 27. Oliver Ekman-Larsson 28. Cory Schneider 29. Joe Thornton 30. Shea Weber 31. Claude Giroux 32. Logan Couture 33. Taylor Hall 34. Blake Wheeler 35. Duncan Keith 36. Kris Letang 37. Filip Forsberg 38. Corey Perry 39. Brad Marchand 40. Alex Pietrangelo 41. Ryan O'Reilly 42. Aaron Ekblad 43. Evgeni Kuznetsov 44. Kevin Shattenkirk 45. Nathan MacKinnon 46. Jack Eichel 47. Kevin Gostisbehere 48. Gabriel Landeskog 49. Tyler Toffoli 50. Phil Kessel I made that list in about three minutes so feel free to tear it apart.
