Agreed...the goal last year was to have the young players realize they had high-end offensive NHL talent and get them to be confident in that. Because under Kreuger they got beat down into not believing in themselves...take Dahlin for example...dude was a shell of himself. So his first goal was to get them to believe in themselves again and let them go play and score. And score they did. Now that they know they can go do that, the goal is to get them to play more defensively and teach them how to make sure they aren't giving up as many chances as they are creating. And working on the PK. Sometimes trying to work on everything at once ends up really being not working on anything because the focus is too scattered and not enough time is spent on any one thing. In terms of this teams psyche, it had to be that way because Kreuger had beaten them down so badly. I mean he had the youngest roster in the NHL last year and it got even younger this year.

Ottawa's Shane Pinto suspended 41 games for sports betting

Probably because it's all too easy to walk down that slippery slope one day even if it's only on a whim. -
Ottawa's Shane Pinto suspended 41 games for sports betting

Well damn...that escalated quickly. If he keeps it up he is going to be driving a Pinto...1978 style. -
Made it look dicey and like we are holding on by the seat of our pants but they are remarkably good at closing games out when they have leads after 2 periods. Still have not lost in regulation going back to the start of last year. They are 30-0-4 during that time when leading after 2. Yes, it looks dicey and like they are going to allow the other team to win, but it almost never actually happens. We don't have to like the way it looks but it's hard to argue with the end result.

Another "Sneaky B" like Briere? He was so good from back there...

The PK has been a revelation so far. They are everywhere...disrupting passes, using their long sticks to force bad plays, moving guys out from in front of the crease...one of the more pleasant surprises of the young season so far. Now just need to get the PP going which they will at some point I am sure.

I think they realized this towards the end of last year and they are working on some things now. Haven't got it completely figured out yet but once they do they should be in far better shape. The PK has been a revelation tho.

WTF?? Where are you at? Down by that hurricane?

I'm going to assume this is requested by teams to aid with attendance?
-
their games seem pretty spaced out compared to the Sabres...guess 10 less games per season help with that
-
This is a little crazy...Zemgus has tied O'Reilly and Soupy Campbell for points as a Sabre. O'Reilly I could see, but I thought Soupy had a lot more points than that...

Which coach's tuchus is toastier, Granato's or McDermott's?

If by Toastier you mean one is Ice Cold and the other is so frozen that it would take weeks to unthaw, I guess Granato. -
GDT: Islanders @ Sabres, Oct. 21, 2023 - 7pm EDT, MSG 📺 WGR 📻

That was a complete ass whooping starting in the 2nd period. Game could have easily been 6 or 7-1 if not for the Isles goalie making unreal save after unreal save. -
Patently false, I'd put BBQ in KC up against anyone and they'd win more often than not in a blind taste test I would bet.
-
Haha...can't force myself to think something tastes good when it tastes nasty. And has a gritty weird texture to boot.

there is Dino in Buffalo now also

after eating BBQ in KC I don't even bother with anyplace in WNY. Q39 was the best BBQ I have ever had and most people said that isn't even in their top 5 in KC. Have had Fat Bob's a few times and one other one at one of the festivals and it wasn't anything special. Personally, I think the smoking I used to do 10-12 years ago was probably better than anything I've had here. Von Miller seems pretty impressed with it tho and he is from Texas, so maybe that says something.

I don't think it's a lack of interest. I've watched them all thru the drought years and watch other games regularly even if they are non-Sabre related. What I won't do is pay a bunch of money for a crap product or a team that doesn't play like they want to win at home. So i will continue watching on TV until they can show me there is a much higher chance of seeing a good game from them rather than a game like the Rangers game opening night. I sang on DooWutchyaLike, and if you missed it...I'm the one who said just grab 'em in the biscuits...
