  1. Boston - 7 Anaheim - 5 Colorado - 5 St Louis - 5 San Jose - 4 Pittsburg - 5 Chicago - 5 Tampa - 7 Montreal - 5 LA - 4 Minnesota - 4 Rangers - 4 Philadelphia - 6 Columbus - 3 Detroit - 4 Dallas - 2 Average number of 40 point forwards league-wide - 4.4 Average number of 40 point forwards playoff-wide - 4.7 So still a solid second line player This also completely ignores the fact that Ennis faces teams top shutdown D-pair here, whilst if he played on the second line in another team he would have an easier time etc. People have a bizarre idea of how many points a player puts up. There are really only maybe 10 'top-line' centres
  2. How many third liners put up 40+ points? If it were normal for third line forwards to put up 40 points, we would expect teams to have 7-9 40+ point players. 7*30 = 210. Last year 132 players put up 40+ points. For an average of 4.4 players per team. Thus 40+ points makes you a solid second line player
  3. Yup. Peg fans general consensus was we like him when he is on the ice but i'm glad he is gone and we have a healthier player in return
  4. Sabres are mathematically out of the playoffs
  5. He isn't remotely considered bad defensively. He is always praised for his two way game
  6. Is there a reason why Sam's scoring is so much lower this year? Odd because overage players normally dominate the CHL. I think a lot of people are not going to like him. Most people don't notice the defensive contribution of a forward and the points he does get will be attributed to the scoring player. He will be a disappointment to most, who expect an electric player. That said, the best thing that could happen would be to get mcDavid and have him as the electric player and allow Reinhart to chug along
  7. Probably. Seems easier to just get a few too many men penalties or hooking calls. Perhaps you try a little less hard to chase down that breakaway etc. That said, players don't tank. They might try less hard (why wouldn't you? why kill yourself for nothing), but they won't try and lose
  8. Perfect time to trade him... He has irritated me less this year
  9. Tavares was the clear number one, but then as it got closer to the draft people started questioning if he should go first overall or if he was first because of the hype. It happens every year really, as people start to focus on the stars flaws more than anything http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Next_One Well I admit that was before my hockey time, but i figure as there was no season there was little else to do but rave about how good Crosby would be
  10. Nah Tavares is a step above those two. He was called the next one before his draft year
  11. It has probably been mentioned, but did anyone else notice that in the documentary about McDavid, the house Connor billets with, the son was wearing a Buffalo Sabres T-shirt Crosby McDavid Tavares MacKinnon Eichel Stamkos Eichel is a bit tricky, as if McDavid wasn't around he would be talked of a lot more!
  12. I really like Larsson's game
  13. I'll throw this out there and watch Eleven burn. I like weird numbers it is interesting. I also decided should I ever end up on the Sabres roster I would resurrect Patches' 38
  14. For me, the last two unknowns/doubts are: 1) Has CoHo returned to a 50 point player? 2) Will one of the goalies jump at the chance to show themselves as a potential 'starter'
  15. Mitchell is a 4th liner Flynn is a 4th liner Neuvy is a decent back-up goalie Stewart is an inconsistent 2nd line winger The only one of any worth is Stewart and TSN ripped him a new one saying we should keep him because he makes the team worse by simply being on the ice. Teams didn't really want him. And no-one was going to pay much for the rest. The difference between Neuvirth and Johnson is a third round pick
  16. Completely with you. As long as Nolan is gone. Which I am also hopeful for!
  17. A partially developed prospect is more useful than a 2nd. But interesting idea
  18. It's 3 years away. Honestly this is basically a 2015 4th
  19. Murray never seems to get great returns on players
  20. Trading picks for a draft 3 years away seems ridiculous
  21. 2017 2nd pick for Stewart
  22. Mitchell got more than Flynn?
  23. No I completely agree. I was just hoping for a second wind. I guess no Gaborik/Vanek style UFAs this year either
